Chapter 15
Route 1- 15:00

The rocket continued his countdown. Sweat beads appeared in Misty's forehead, Gary had his hands up (this is an example of an extreme surcumstance:)) and the girls were silent and breathing erratically. "... 1... I'm going to enj-" Misty, at that moment, turned around from the rock, brought out the pistol, and aimed at the rocket's head. The sound of the gun being brought out startled the rocket, and as he turned around Misty fired twice, both bullets hitting him not on the head, but through the chest. The shock brought the rocket in the air and through the hole, falling several metric dm to his death, blood smearing the rock and the hole as he fell. Misty swallowed hard, but kept control, holstering the weapon. Gary crossed his arms, sneering again, and everyone in the cheering squad gasped. Misty ignored it. If Gary was shot, the girls would be bawling and probably fainting. Gary, of course, was seemingly (at first) ignorant of his near-death but if looked at longer he would seem to be only hiding his thanks to Misty. "I say, good riddance to that guy. Girls, calm down. I'm right as rain-eww! What's all this doing here?" Misty suddenly realised that Gary was also smeared with blood from the confrontation. Misty laughed. She liked it when Gary was surprised. Gary sighed and shrugged. "I guess that if I'm blood-stained, my biggest problem at the moment is not my drycleaning." Misty's expression froze as she figured that she had to tell Gary what was going on if he happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, just to remind him that he could die. "Gary?" Gary turned to Misty. "Yes?" Gary returned to his usual sneer. Misty confessed, "I have to wait here for someone named Giovanni, who is now in the base. He's supposed to get his Alakazam back from Team Rocket." Gary looked down at the hole, rubbing his chin. "This is some outpost?" Misty shook her head. "I don't think so. I think that this is the base."

Underground rocket base- 15:30

Giovanni arrived at an opening in the vents leading to a large and dark-blue room that he knew was engineering because it was so familiar. Giovanni pulled out his gun and began breathing heavily. As Giovanni stepped in, there was no ambush, but there were only several large and black pipes all over the place, laid out horizontally and vertically. In the center of the pipes, though, there was a small dome supported by a red ledge the same width as the circumference which seemed to stand out in contrast. Inside the dome-was Alakazam, lying down and with several wires attached to itself.

Jameson, now blind, was carried by the guards. He heard from Mick that for a short time, his hearing would be naturally better due to the sight loss, but that he would suddenly lose the hearing in 'a day or two'. Maybe I'm being executed now, Jameson pondered, dazed and feeling that now-usual slight sickness, if I'm being executed, that's a good sign at this point. He heard the sounds of the rockets (well, he presumed that they were rockets) as their feet hit the ground, and he felt them holding his arms and legs, carrying Jameson over to destination unknown. He heard guards talking as they passed by. He caught some of their conversations. "Richard is dead, thank god..." Another guard passed by, saying, "that spy could kill us all..." "Hey, have you watched Ally MacBeal?..." Jameson stopped listening as the rockets stopped walking and they placed Jameson on a padded bed. Jameson couldn't help but smile. So I'm getting the lethal injection, Jameson thought, guess I'm lucky. And yes, they gave him a shot with a needle, but it didn't kill him. Quite the opposite, in fact.

"Alright, James, you're free to go now," Mick told Jameson, patting him on the back as he stood up, "but only after you find the spy for us and bring us his head." Jameson surprisingly complied, his vision and hearing back to normal. "I will obey Team rocket to no extent or exception." Mick glowered happily. James/Jameson was theirs now that the hypnosis has taken effect.

Giovanni looked at Alakazam. "Alakazam, it's me, Giovanni." Alakazam didn't move. Giovanni knew that it was alive because it seemed to breathe. "Alakazam, wake up now..." Giovanni didn't want to shout because that might come to the attention of the rockets as to where he was. Ah, well, Giovanni thought, I guess that I have no choice. Giovanni brought out a pokéball and pressed the central button. Following the press, his Golem came out. "Golem, slide some of your rocks onto the glass on that dome and do it quickly," Giovanni whispered with a hint of nervousness and impatience. Although not fully aware of the situation at present, Golem obyed his master's orders to the letter, accomplishing 1 single hard shake to itself and bringing out a couple of rocks which hit the glass of the dome. It shattered, and Alakazam woke up groggily. An alarm sounded.

Persian was sitting beside Jessie, who was on her chair with her arms crossed. "Hey, Jes, what's happening?" Persian was obviously in a good mood. Jessie breathed in deeply, and breathed out the words, "we hypnotised James. He's after a spy that killed 2 of our-" an alarm sounded, interrupting Jessie. She stood up and ran over to a ceiling monitor. "What is it?" Jessie shouted, holding the monitor up to her. The monitor showed a grid of the base map. One place was glowing red, which looked like the computer core. "It might be the spy," Persian thought out loud. Jessie snorted. "Of course it's the spy, it's easy to assume that. He would definitely go near Turin's Alakazam to steal it, of all things." Jessie raised her collar. "Turin Trent, send out the prisoners first, leading them." "Got it," was the reply from Turin, just back from his asassinations of Sabrina and Richard.

Shit, Giovanni thought. Fuck those cunts who armed the alarm wiring! Alakazam cocked his head, looking at Giovanni in a strange way. Of course, Giovanni thought embarrased. Alakazam can read my thoughts. Alakazam looked at the wiring attached to himself, discombobulated. Giovanni crept up to Alakazam and was about to pull the wires out when 2 people appeared amist the pipes. One was Turin, the other-Jameson, wearing rubber gloves and wielding a european P99 at Giovanni's face, with an odd stare. "There's plenty more where this came from," Turin remarked, "I've commanded all the prisoners to kill you." "Alakazam, psychic!" Alakazam's eyes turned red, then white. Turin flew up to the pipes, screaming. Nothing happened to Jameson. Why is nothing happening to James? Giovanni was thinking, unless... It may be a hypnosis! James fired the gun, but Jameson fired the gun, but Golem dived and took the bullet. Being a megaton pokŽmon, Golem was immune to gunshots, so the bullet ricocheted off Golem and into Alakazam's head. Alakazam moved his arms for a brief moment, and then died, collapsing with the blood from the while the bullet was spreading onto the ground and the surrounding pipes. Giovanni gasped. Now what was he going to do? However, something happened when Alakazam died. The hypnotic stare was no longer present on Jameson. Maybe, thought Giovanni, maybe Alakazam was controlling the hypnosis! Jameson, shaking his head and looking discombobulated, lowered his weapon and aimed it at Turin's head. Turin, no longer under psychic control, had one hand up and the other in his pocket reaching for something. "I surrender. Alakazam has been killed, and in a few seconds all the power will go out. You see, this psychic energy is not only running a network, but it is converted to all the energy needed for our computers, heat and light. Yes, James, I killed Sabrina. And you two will be killed as well," Turin was saying, now with a pill taken out from his pocket and using the other hand to point two fingers at Jameson and Giovanni, "and it's nice to warn you. You see, I will be held responsible for the death of Alakazam, so, goodbye..." Turin unwrapped the pill, and, as Jameson and Giovanni held the pistols aimed at Turin's head, he swallowed the pill and collapsed, waving goodbye lying down and Turin died seconds afterward, right after contently placing his hands in his pockets. "Good riddance," Jameson spat, shooting the dead remains of Turin in the right shoulder, making the corresponding arm go off, spilling blood across the floor and leaving bone fractures gliding along the blood flow. "James, what did you do that for?" Jameson holstered his weapon. "Personal, really. What are you doing, anyway?" Giovanni's expression changed. "Long story. First, we better escape before the guards get to us." Jameson shrugged, figuring that Giovanni had a point there. And that was when the power went out.

Everything was in total darkness in the computer core, while Jameson, Giovanni and Golem were struggling to adjust their eyesight to the darkness. "Giovanni, they have my pokémon. I will rather die than see them go in the hands of team rocket." Giovanni nodded slowly. "I'm not fully sure of what to do, but I think that the pokŽmon you had are safely in storage, quite close to the core. Hmm... Venomoth, use a very mild psywave and point it in front of us." A Venomoth came out of one of Giovanni's pokéballs and it flapped its wings in a strange way, glowing a slight red right in front of itself. Jameson, Giovanni and Golem could see again, pointing out the structures in the way of the glow. "And Venomoth, you remember Weezing, you know, from the Chansey Ordeal? Use your radar to find it. That Weezing is somewhere in this structure," Giovanni ordered calmly, then continued, "do you have the coordinates?" Venomoth nodded, saying, "venomoth." "Take us there." Jameson, Venomoth, Golem and Giovanni then vanished in a blaze of blue light matter, going to who-knows where in the base.

"Evacuate the base! We can repair it later, but we got to make sure that everyone is safe! Go, go, go!" Mick was screaming in the dark corridors, at the same moment that he let out his Magmar out of a pokéball. The lesser-ranked and junior rockets were panicking wildly wheareas the whiteshirts, blackshirts and some of the blueshirts were simply sighing and staying close to eachother, heading toward the ladder. Jessie was talking to some of the blueshirts, passing by Mick. "Hey, boss! Maybe you're better at shutting up those juniors than me," Mick exclaimed to Jessie. Jessie walked back to Mick. "Not a problem," Jessie answered, "I suppose that they would obey me more than you." Mick nodded and walked away, bringing his Magmar with him.
