Author's note: here and on other chapters you will meet 2 different people each called "A"-both whiteshirts, one in intelligence and the other in operation plans and are given no visual description. They are whiteshirt senior rockets who are very smart, and you won't know their names are or what they look like for a long time. Despite their high rank and being called "the boss" they cannot command other whiteshirts, only the lower ranks (but those are the blackshirts, greenshirts, blueshirts, redshirts, maroonshirts, orangeshirts, yellowshirts and finally the juniors-see a pattern in colour?). That's just the rule. And this one might not be well edited, because it was made in a very short time! E-mail me at cianchartier@eircom.net for the answer to any troubles you have with how I edited this. *** *** Character traits *** *** 7. Cassidy Age: 24 Gender: Female Looks: Long, yellow hair that simply streams down (unlike in the TV series). A face rather like Jessie, with a white "rocket" shirt and trowsers. Friends: The late Butch, the twins Mick and Turin (who won't appear in person for a looong time) and most other people of team rocket. Enemies: Ash, Misty, Jameson, Jameson's Weezing and Jessie. Personality: Again, much like Jessie, with a vengeful instinct and a one-track mind. However, she is even more professional than Jessie is at her work (well, Jessie's not the self-hired gun). *** *** *** *** Chapter 9 Cerulean city- 18:00 15-year old Ash Ketchum finally arrived at Richard's house after hours of using a map. After a few steps up, Ash rang the doorbell. It was answered immeadiately (from another view: 1.33 1/3 seconds) by Richard, who had a bandage on his forehead. "What is it today, Richie?" Ash came in and closed the door behind him. Richard had a lollipop in his mouth, he was holding a wad of cash, and he had a bandage on his head. What a combination, Ash mused. Richie decided to speak. "Well, my parents are leaving me here to take care of the house for another month yet, so I am bringing many people here to investigate something, but you're the furthest away of the others." Ash's face stiffened. "What am I meant to investigate?" Richard led Ash to a table in some sort of kitchen, and he spead out a small sheet of paper from his pocket on the table, which had one drawing in grayscale. "That's Jameson," Ash pointed out simultaeneously, "I just met him today." Richard nodded. "Yes, but look at him with white hair," Richard pointed out as he drew up a drawing in colour from his pocket and placed it on the table, with Jameson not having black hair-but white hair. Ash was taken aback, astounded. "He's probably somewhere in this city," Richard noted, but Ash couldn't and didn't listen-he was discombobulated, simply staring at-at a picture of James. Hours later Richard put down his picture phone in controlled disgust. "I've called all the hotels, motels and inns in the city- nobody named 'Jameson' was present." Ash was looking up at the situation, though. "Let's have supper here, then sleep on it. I've had no lunch today, so..." The doorbell ringed before Ash could think of another word to say. "I'll answer it, Ash." Richard went over to the door and opened it. Ash wondered who would come in to Richard's house so late at night. He heard the door open, and he heard Richard say, "hello! Didn't expect you here tonight. Come in, come in." Ash looked at the person who came in. It was Misty, hair soaking wet. "It's pouring outside... Oh, hi Ash. Me and Manuel are going to the Cerulean gym... Eat something, talk to the sisters..." Then, Misty muttered in a low voice, "...And challenge Gary." Ash and Richard didn't hear or bother to hear the last part. Ash stood up. "I'm starving! I at least think that we should go. What about you, Richie?" Richard stood up and shrugged. "I might learn something new, etc. etc. etc. Sure." Richard and Ash walked to the door with Misty and left, Richard getting an umbrella as he went. Richard was chewing on a new lollipop as he, Misty, Ash and Manuel were crammed under the umbrella. The noise of the chewing was getting on everyone else's nerves. Misty was the first to snap, acting far more agressive-abrasively than normal. "Richard, shut up with your chewing! Are you trying to impress the girls or something? Who do you think you are, Kojak?" Richard froze with Ash, Misty and Manuel, swallowing the lollipop except for the plastic end, which he put in his pocket, then he blushed. "I'm flattered that you think I am like Kojak." Ash slapped himself on the forehead. Misty continued, "Richard, shut up already! I don't even know why you like that cult crap." Something pink rose on Richard's temple. He said nothing, and carried on walking with the others. Manuel was the next to speak. "Misty, calm down now. He didn't mean to annoy us." Richard then snapped, which was very rare for him. "Yeah, Misty. You can't get wrong with Manuel. I'm like a dumb dog taught to obey commands, and I can't say anything against the command of my superiors." Then Richard pointed at Misty, and stated, "I guess that I'm not the only dog around here!" Misty looked very hurt and angry. "Take that back!" "No!" Misty and Richard started choking each other, arms wrapped around each other's necks. Richard dropped the umbrella. Ash kept quiet. Friends always get into quarrels every once in a while, Ash thought to himself. Just like me and Misty a while ago, when I knew her better. Ash picked it up and put it over himself and Manuel, leaving Misty and Richard wet. A croud would have started to develop if it weren't for the fact that the streets were empty. "I guess we could always say, 'I don't know these people'," Manuel suggested to Ash. Ash looked embarresed. "You got that right," was all Ash would agree to say. ?- 21:00 Hansel, the man who tried to steal the Scyther from Richard, arrived at the feet of his boss, A. "Please, boss, forgive me for failing!" "I will-if you tell me what the man who attacked you looks like." "Ummm... Well, he has black hair, he looks dark but Caucasian-" "Manuel Zimmerman. 19, and is friends with powerful trainers, who are Misty of Cerulean city, and Richard, also of Cerulean city." Hansel was obviously impressed, but the boss continued, "we have our databases. We can take care of him if you want." Hansel was smiling. "Sur-sure, boss!" A chuckled. "Go on to Jessie, and she'll give you another mission. Now, get out of my sight." Hansel left, sighing with relief. A raised his collar up to his mouth, and spoke on some sort of communications link, "hello. Cassidy, are you there?" Cerulean city- In the meantime "Hello. Cassidy, are you there?" Cassidy was, at that moment, crouching on the edge of a roof at a building at the rainy streets of Cerulean city. Cassidy was wearing black everywhere, on her face, over her hair, over any part of her body. Even her gloves were black, handling a sniper rifle she still had from Route 3, stained with pollution after the encounter with Weezing. She whispered, talking very quickly, which a touch of annoyance, "this is not the time, teammate. I've got to kill James. Look, I'll contact you later." A sighed. "Okay," he replied, "do your buisiness and then you can ask me what your new mission is." The comm came off, and Cassidy quickly came back to work, waiting patiently... There! James was walking in a small croud, in a busy shopping street, probably decreasing the chances of a clear aim. But, he's wrong, Cassidy thought, I'm a good shot, and when I fire there's a low chance of a miss. "And the bullet will explode and you will die a very bloody man, James," Cassidy very quietly thought out loud. Jameson looked around the streets, unarmed, paranoid and generally helpless. Although he was in a busy shopping street, he was still in risk of getting shot, especially by professionals from team rocket, which make up most of the senior whiteshirt team. Jameson once again stopped, and looked to his left and righ-a figure, a black figure on a roof! What the... ...Cassidy pulled the safety whilst grinning. "Savour this moment, James," Cassidy muttered, "this is your last moment." Cassidy slowly, savoring the death of James, pressed the trigger-but wait! James was no longer still, but moving to a cafˇ just to the right of him. James entered the cafˇ with a grin on his face. She let go of the trigger quickly, and the gun didn't fire. Cassidy restarted the safety, and thought, god damn it! Cassidy raised her collar up and stated, "okay, I've failed on my latest mission. What did you want me to do again?" "What did you want me to do again?" A smiled. "I'd like you to do a favour for me. There is someone else I want you to kill. He is around here, and he is someone called Manuel. You remember him a lot, he participated secretly in the Chansey ordeal." (Author's note: BLINK-BLINK-FLASHING LIGHTS HERE! THIS IS IMPORTANT!) Cassidy shrugged. "I know what he looks like. Just leave him to me. When and if I see him, that is." Richard and Misty were squinting at each other, walking with Ash and Manuel but away from the umbrella. Ash pointed out, "this is all in the hormones. If you cut it out, feel glad that you're disobeying your instincts and that stupid clichˇ that you see in some fan fiction stuff you see on the internet. Otherwise, you're just like a character in one of those things." Richard stopped squinting. "Yeah, right Ash, like I'm a character in some fan fiction!" He laughed, then settled down quickly, returning to his normal orthodox state. Misty looked ahead, still hurt but not really that conspicuous. Manuel stopped for a second. "Ah, just the book place for me!" He ran over to a store called "Sciences galore" and looked at the covers of some chemistry books on display from outside. Manuel was drooling on the window, muttering the names of the books, "Acids and basids-all the stuff you need for a new era in manufacturing? That sounds intresting. The chloroflourocarbons that hurt us all? Rather basic to me. MSG explained? Ahhhh..." Manuel leaned against the wall, mouth open and drooling on it. Although Cassidy only seen the back of Manuel, he was easy to point out in a croud. She pointed the rifle sight at his head. "Alright, Mr.Chanseyguy," Cassidy muttered, "you'll have to die too," He noticed Manuel still on the glass wall on the shop displaying some hardback books. "Good, Manuel. Just stay there while I kill you." Cassidy pulled the safety, and reached for the trigger...
