BOE book 2, part 3: The stadium

"Decorous’s sneasel just avoided that dynamic punch from Harris’s primeape. The dark/ice type has shown excellent skill and reflexes. Decorous is a top-notch trainer." The announcer shouted. Dianna, Jenson’s sneasel, dodged a cross-chop and a countered with fury swipes. While the pig monkey was reeling she finished him off with an ice punch.

*Now that, was a close one, * she said with a sigh. She turned her crimson eyes back to see, her trainer giving her a thumbs-up. She had just ran though three opposing pokémon and she was tired. Jenson slid down the ladder and jogged over to his pokémon’s side.

"Great job! I knew you could do it!" Jenson exclaimed as he reached his pokémon.

*I wish I had your confidence. Especially when that primeape showed up, * she said shaking her head.

"Well I’ll make up to you. Would like to watch the next battle or do you to rest in your pokéball?" He asked.

*I’ll watch, * she answered. He nodded and picked her up. He looked over to the losing trainer and smiled at him.

"Good battle!" He shouted over the roar of the crowd. The other trainer nodded in response. He left the battlefield and headed to the waiting area. He was now going to the third round of the tournament. Each round add in one more pokémon. So in round six it would be a six on six battle. Because of the number of skilled trainers, each round was steadily getting more and more intense. He walked over the healing machine and after a short wait healed his team. He looked over the many different trainers and whistled.

"I thought more people would have been taken out during the preliminary rounds. There is still a good many left," he said to his pokémon.

"Don’t let the numbers fool you. There are a lot of people here that have lost. They just want to watch the battles, a ten-year old in a tan short sleeve shirt said. "

"I don’t mean to sound rude, but how can you be sure? And just who are you?" Jenson asked.

"My names Jared, and as how I can be sure, I have seen some of the people that I beat and I have been watching each match," He said. He was going to elaborate when the next match came on to the wide screen.

"All right people, the next match will be Ann vs. Isaac. Will this young watcher be able to beat this orange island veteran? Let’s find out!" The announcer said as the two trainers walked on to the field. Ann adjusted her beret and waved to the crowd nervously. She walked over to her box and placed her Magby next to her. Isaac and Nina walked over to there box, and he waved at the crowd as well, with more conference.

"This will be a three on three battle, begin!" The referee shouted.

"Go Shine!" She said releasing her staryu.

"V2 you’re up," Isaac said releasing his porygon 2. The normal type watched the water type carefully. They both sudden jumped in to action when the received a command. Both Shine and V2 blasted each other with thunder wave. The two electric attacks hit midway and canceled each other. Shine hit V2 with rapid spin. He hit the porygon spinning at insane speeds. V2 caught the star shaped pokémon with a psychic attack when he was coming around and slammed him into the ground. He followed it up with a tri attack. The water pokémon dodged the attack at the last second lifting straight up in the air. He countered with a bubble beam. The Porygon dodged by darting to the left.

"Conversion 2," Isaac ordered. A purple flash went across the normal type, changing him into a psychic type. [Hit him with psychic attack when he attacks again,] the psychic trainer sent.

"Ice beam!" Ann shouted. The staryu focused one of its points at the normal type and a blue and white beam lanced out and blasted the normal type. V2 shook it off. He countered with a massive psychic attack. The PSI waves where so strong that you could see them. The huge pulse of mental energy blasted the star shape out of the air and in the wall. "Oh no! Come back Shine. Come out Shriek!" The girl said recalling the staryu and releasing a murkrow. The dark/flying type immediately hit V2 with a faint attack. Since V2 was a psychic type now the hit was super effective. V2 was sent sliding back.

"I-suggest-a-change-of-tactics," V2 droned. Isaac nodded and his porygon used a hyper beam. The murkrow narrowly dodged the gold and white blast. Darting past the glowing energy she hit V2 with a pursuit attack. That was all that it took to take the porygon 2 out of the battle.

"Nice job, keep it up!" Ann cheered. Isaac recalled V2, and then sent out Undine his vaporeon.

"Ice beam!" He shouted.

*Whoa, that’s going to be a problem! * Shriek said dodged the blue white beam. Soon the battle degraded into a shooting match. Shriek fired nightshade after nightshade from a distance. Undine fired ice beams or aurora beams. This continued for a while, each pokémon missing the other. That is until Undine used Acid Armor. The Vaporeon melted into thin air. Shriek stopped darting around to get a lock on the puddle that the Vaporeon became. That was a mistake, for a soon as she did, Undine attack with a blizzard. The storm of ice and snow froze the black bird solid taking her out of the match.

"Alright, time for the big guns. Etch, your turn," Ann whispered sending out her last pokémon.

"Undine, careful now," Isaac said when he saw the smeargle. "We don’t know what to expect."

"Etch, lock on." Ann said. The normal type focused on his enemy.

*Ok, this should finish you off! * Undine shouted. She fired off a massive hydro pump attack. Etch calmly side stepped it.

"Fissure!" Ann shouted. The normal type smashed the ground sending a thin crack toward Undine. The water type jumped the left, but the crack quickly switched direction and moved under her. So instead of landing on the ground, the vaporeon landed on nothing but air as the ground under her opened up. She fell and was instantly knocked out.

"I guess that is your strongest pokémon? Well its mine turn to sent out my best. Nina your up," Isaac said. The ninetales landed on the field with a graceful leap. The painter and the fire fox stared at each other waiting for the next move. "Stone fist!" "Scared fire!" came the two attacks. Nina body burst into flame, and the fire blasted off toward the Etch. Etch raised his arms above his head. Grey lighting lanced out and gathered stone from the ground. The rocks formed a huge spiked rock ball. He launched it at Nina. The fire hit the stone slowing it down. Nina narrowly dodged it, the shockwaves making her stumble. She was open to the headbutt that Etch hit her with. She recovered and quick attacked Etch back. She fried a fire blast at the normal type who was recovering from the hit. He blocked it using protect.

*Not bad, you’re strong, * Etch said.

"So are you," Nina said. "But what was that attack you opened up with?"

*I’ll tell you if you can tell me how you learned scared fire, * Etch answered.

"Etch, slow her down with bubble beam!" Ann said.

"Nina, quick attack special," said Isaac with a wink. The ninetales smirked when Etch fired the beam of bubbles. Nina dove underground just before the bubbles hit her.

"Etch earthquake! Don’t let her come out!" Ann exclaimed. Etch lifted a paw up to slam it to the ground, but Nina exploded out and slimed right into his jaw head first. Nina flipped out and landed across from the stunned painted and blasted him with a flamethrower. The air around her darkened, as a ball of light formed in her mouth. She blasted Etch with a hyper beam as soon just as the normal type completed his earthquake. The beam lanced over the shock wave. The beam blasted the normal type almost over to Isaac’s stand. The Earthquake sent Nina stagger over to Ann’s side. Nina shook off the hit, weakened but not out. Etch barely staggered up. The normal types eyes started to glow a cherry color.

"Hyper flame!" Isaac shouted.

"Omega Beam!" Exclaimed Ann. An aura of flames surrounded Nina, as did an aura of physical force around Etch. The symbol for normal types appeared on Etch’s chest, as did the symbol for fire types on Nina’s forehead. Nina blasted the normal type with a cone of intense flames while Etch released a massive blast of energy. The two attacks hit each other in the middle of the stadium. There was a huge clash of light and energy, then the day exploded white.

When the smoked cleared, Nina was barely standing at the edge of a crater, while Etch was lying knocked out across the field. Isaac and stared at each other in surprise.

"And Isaac wins! Did you ever see such a battle! I’m sure some of those attacks have never been used in a league battle!" The Announcer said. Both trainers recalled out there knocked out pokémon. They met next to the former mid-line.

"We need to talk," Isaac said. Ann nodded and they both left for the healing area. As the walked down the hall away from the stadium. Destiny was waiting, and Kryis, Jared and Jenson ran into the hall. The six trainers paused the minute the all were there. It was if a wind passed though them.

"Bravo, Bravo. It seems that you have gotten a lot stronger," Michael said as he came out from behind Jared. All six spun around and looked at the Light focus holder. "Since it will take a while for them to fix to the stadium, would you come with me?" He asked. He moved his right hand in front of him, and the circle quartered by a cross, the symbol for light appeared on the back of it.

"It’s you again, that focus holder!" He exclaimed. The others were a mix of surprise, wariness and excitement.

"You bet, and I have a gift for you," Michael said. After getting all the pokémon healed, the trainers where sitting with the Silent Searchers and the focus holders on Isaac’s boat.

"Ok, You six. Two of you already have Key’s, and we decided that all of you should have one. Kryis, to you will go the sky key. To Destiny the life key, to Ann the sun key and to Jenson the earth key," Marius said. He opened a case containing said key. He handed a key to each trainer. All of the keys started to softly glow.

"So now that we have these, what do we do?" Ann asked.

"Hopefully nothing. If you have to come in that means that we can’t stop Kain," Lisa said.

"Which maybe true," A voice said. All turned to find Arron standing in the doorway. Kimberly poked her head out from the backpack the dark holder was wearing. "Before you even start, Kain attacked us. He caught the others."

"What, it’s to soon!" Michael said. Suddenly the whole boat shook. Everyone ran out the deck. Hovering over the burning stadium was a huge floating metal fortress. A central spire was connected to a ring by five large struts. The Struts formed a five-point star outside of the ring. The Spire impaled a metal tetrahedral. The Spire was made of a black crystal and fell to a point below the tetrahedral. It also rose above it to a flat tower. Black clouds surrounded it, sometimes partial obscuring the whole structure.

"Is that Gold Sanctuary?" Ebony asked in shock.

"No, if that rose this Island won’t be here anymore. That’s something new built in the image of GS." Lisa said. Suddenly electricity surrounded the bottom spire. Bolts of lighting rained down on White city. Along the five points fire rained down. After that, a brown pulse struck the ground under the fortress causing a massive earthquake. The watchers from Isaac’s boat watched several flying pokémon took off from the ground. A brilliant blue flash greeted them. Some feel back to earth. The holders could see some parts of White City were now frozen.

"We’ve got to get up there," Michael said grimly. "He’s using the powers of the others to decimate the city."

"Forget the city, if this keeps up, he’ll destroy the world," Spooky said. Power surged around Marius as he changed into his pokémon form.

"I can get us up there," he said. "Who’s coming?" Everyone looked at each then at the mewtwo.

"I can safely say, all of us," Kimberly said.

[Then let’s go!] He shouted as a ball of destructive energy surrounded everyone. The orb lifted of the ground and rushed thought the air to the flying fortress.
