Chapter 5

Author’s Note: I changed my E-mail address to pyried5@netscape.net for those of you who send me reviews. Also the song in the red right after the Author’s Note is Slipknot’s Eyeless. I don’t own Slipknot or there songs; I don’t own Pokemon either. I do own Ben and Rachel though. Anyway… on with the story

Insane

My the only mother F***er with a brain

I’m hearing voices

But all they do is complain

How many times have you wanted to kill?

Everything and everyone

You say you’ll do but never

! WHACK!

"Dammit!" I yell taking my headphones off. Rachel had just hit me with another Magikarp. She didn’t really mean to, she just wasn’t paying attention as to where she ordered her Wartortle to Mega Punch the inferior creatures.

Rachel is unsuccessfully trying her luck at catching a Poliwag at a small lake we had stopped to rest at. Her specialty is water element pokemon. She currently has a Golduck, a Wartortle, a Horsea, and a Wooper. She’s all right I guess. She’s from Hope City, so I’m guessing she’s rich or something. She has dirty blonde hair, and lively blue eyes. She’s very tan, which is odd for a blond. She’s wearing a red and white Rugby shirt and blue cargo pants. Phobias seems to like her. She seems too shy to me. I hardly know her. For all I know, Rachel could be some whacked up Homicidal Maniac that just finished a murder in Hope City and hoped on a train where she met me.

Phobias is a very odd Kadabra I have had for 6 years, since I was 8. He was an Abra then. He had always had very weird black markings on his body. When He evolved, the markings took on more definition and shape, like the black star on its forehead and the eye shaped marks on his palms. He’s cool. My best friend. He is the only one that knows of my past. He hasn’t even revealed it to Java.

Java is a crazy ‘Kellogg’s Smore Pop Tarts’ loving Drowzee. He has this thing against Charmanders, It’s kind of scary. He’s also one of mine, along with that psycho Natu I won yesterday.

The Natu’s name is Psyclock. He is very persistent and… well… conceded. He feels that he is unbeatable, and he thinks he’s a legendary bird pokemon. But he is a very strong fighter. Since I let him out on brake, he’s been training against anything that moves. He respects me though, and I respect him. I’ve only had him for a day, and I already consider him a very close friend.

I don’t have many friends. Actually I don’t have any (Besides my Pokemon). Maybe because I’m to afraid to get to know someone, or maybe because they’re all scared of how I look. I think I look fine. I have messy ebony hair (kind of long, but not like a mullet or anything, and it’s short compared to the grunge style.) and emotionless Shale eyes. I like my eyes best about me. I also have my left eyebrow pierced and 5 earrings on the left ear, 3 on the right. My nose is kinda of small, but phobias said that Rachel thinks it’s cute (don’t know how he found that out). My shirts usually have my favorite band logos on it or a skateboarding brand like Slipknot or Black Label and Volcom. My pants are usually extremely baggy jeans or UFOs or something like that. My attitude towads life isn’t exactly optimistic though, but why should it be. If you lived a life like mine, you’d grow up hating the world too. Phobias says I’m like a walking jingle bell. He’s referring to all the banger balls around my neck and wrists. He also says I have some obsession with Fire and explosions, but… there is some truth to that.

<What are you thinking about? > Phobias asks, looking up from his book ‘Homer’s Iliad’. (If you don’t know who Homer is, you’re a moron.)

"Like you don’t know." I retort.

<I wasn’t listening in. > Phobias declares.

I smirk. "I was thinking about this small group we have." I answer. "A freak heavy metal, head banger psychic trainer and a rich, shy water trainer. At least I think she’s rich."

Rachel wasn’t paying any attention. She was to content with the task of fishing. Phobias shrugs, then runs off to play with Java (more like torment the poor Drowzee.). I sigh, then put my headphones back on.

The rest of the afternoon went okay. Rachel didn’t catch her Poliwag, so she’s still pissed.

"Now where are we headed?" Rachel asks.

"Granite town." I answer, "They have a Gym there." I smile at the thought of another Gym. My first Gym battle (for the apocalypse badge) was extremely easy.

"Where is Granite Town?" Rachel questions.

"In the Heart of Viridian Forest." I reply.

"Oh great." She complains.

"Psyclock, Go." I command.

"Go Ekans." My opponent orders.

"Psyclock, Sand-Attack." I direct.

Psyclock creates a strong gust, sending a small sandstorm at the Ekans.

"Ekans, dig under ground." The boy orders.

"Psyclock, fly." I command.

The Ekans dives into the ground, burrowing towards Natu’s previous position. The small psychic bird takes off into the sky, charging up for a solar beam.

"Eeeeeeekanssssss." My opponents snake shouts as it surfaces. Psyclock fires off the solar beam at the confused snake.

"Return." The boy orders.

"Thanks for the battle." I taunt, recalling Psyclock.

The boy twitches, but shrugs off my comment and walks away.

"I thought that wasn’t your style." Rachel comments.

"I couldn’t resist it." I return, "there’s some people who just deserve being taunted."

"Am I one of them?" Rachel asks.

"Not so far." I answer

"Good." Rachel replies, heading out into the Viridian Forest in search of Granite Town.

* * *

"Ahhhhhhhh." Rachel screams once again. It turns out that she has a fear of bugs.

"Will you shut up." I bark at her, "If there was any game here, you sure as hell scared it off."

"There’s no need to be harsh. I’m just kind of afraid of bugs." She replies.

"No kidding." I reply sarcastically.

<Calm down Ben. > Phobias interjects into my mind. <No use crying over spilt milk. >

I throw a harsh glance his way.

<Then again, > Phobias decides, <You can cry over what ever you want. >

As soon as Phobias finishes his statement, he is quickly tackled to the ground. The attacker disappears just as swiftly as he came.

<Leave this land at once. > The creature demands, <Or die a painful death. >

Phobias stands up and charges his attacker. The creature swiftly dodges the first few attacks, without being seen, but finally takes a direct hit from Phobias’ Zap cannon.

Our attacker appeared to be a purple fox like creature.

Phobias smiles at it.

<Not bad. > He comments, <…For a girl. >

The Fox like creature slowly gets to its feet. <I will warn you once again. > It threatens, <Leave now, And I won’t be forced to destroy you. >

"You…destroy us?" I question, "If I’m not mistaken, you’re out numbered." I state, while releasing Java and Psyclock, "And you’ve taken heavy damage. Now I think you should reconsider."

The Fox like creature chuckles before taking off for a final charge… at me. The poor fool never made it though. Psyclock intercepted him, and slammed him into a nearby tree.

<This can’t be true. > The fox states sadly, <I train day and night, never sleeping or eating unless necessary. I never play or slack off on my training, yet I’m beat. And just not beat, but beat by a little bird. > Then it fainted.

I reached into my bag and pulled out an empty ball and tossed it at the battered pokemon. It was caught without a resistance.

Several hours later at the Granite Town Pokemon Center:

Rachel and I walk up to the Front desk, where a Nurse Joy greets us.

"We need our pokemon healed." Rachel states. We both hand over our pokemon for the nurse to heal.

"They will be ready in 5 minutes." She replies, loading them up onto a larger version of a Battery Charger.

5 minutes later:

"Your Pokemon are fully healed." Nurse Joy states, returning our pokemon, "Thank you for stopping by, and have a nice day."

"You to." I reply.

Rachel and I then walk out of the Pokemon center in search of the Gym.

2 hours later, with the help of Mystique (my new female Espeon) we finally reached the Gym. An Ex missile silo from the dark wars. The battle will be for the Strat Badge.

Chapter 6

Authors Note: I think this might be the last Chapter I write, because I’m not even sure if anyone is reading it. True it sucks ass, but so do most fanfics (no offense). At least send me some reviews. Just one review and I’ll continue to write, even if it tells me to slit my wrists (don’t provoke me). Anyway… on with the story…

"This will be a 4 on 4 Pokemon battle. No time limit. Are you ready." The gym leader asks.

"Lets do it." I reply.

"Very well." He returns, "Go Venonat."

"Go Psyclock." I command, "Wing attack."

"Venonat, Explosion." The Granite Town Gym leader orders.

Venonat’s antennae’s twitch uncontrollably as it charges for an explosion attack, it’s stout body expanding slowly. Just as Psyclock’s wing makes contact with the explosive Venonat, They both disappear in a flash of light.

Once the light died down, Both Pokemon were down, Venonat twitching.

"Return." We both simultaneously call out. Our pokemon return to their Pokeballs.

"Go Voltorb." My opponent orders, sending out the electric ball pokemon.

"Go Mystique." I command, "Confusion."

Mystique’s eyes radiate, as she concentrates her power sending the Voltorb into the opposite wall rendering it unconscious.

"Return." My opponent once again calls out, recalling his second fainted pokemon, "Go Electrode. Twister."

"Get out of there." I direct Mystique.

The Electrode starts to spin extremely fast. A strong wind picks up. Slowly and steadily a small Tornado takes form around the spinning pokemon. Despite her efforts, Mystique was sucked into the storm.

A minute passed before she reappeared unconscious.

" Return." I recall my fainted pokemon and send out Java.

"Hypnosis." I command.

Java starts to perform some kind of weird hand motions that unnoticeably sent out sleep waves. In a few seconds the rampaging Electrode was fast asleep.

"Dream Eater." I order.

"Wake up Electrode." The Gym leader cries out.

A small red beam of energy transfers Electrodes remaining energy over to Java, resulting in Electrode falling unconscious.

"I forfeit the match." He declares.

I raise an eyebrow at him. "Why?" I demand.

"I didn’t have a fourth pokemon, I wasn’t expecting you to get this far." He comments shyly.

"Never underestimate your opponent." I return.

"I won’t any more." He replies, "As proof of your victory over the Granite Town Gym, I award you with the Strat Badge."

I except the bomb shaped badge and walk out of the Gym.

Authors Note (again): This chapter really sucked, and yeah it was short, but hell. I do have a life to… All right maybe not, but that’s not the point. So just send me a F***ing review if you want me to continue. My new email address is pyried5@netscape.net , so send it there instead of Pyried @ yahoo.com. Flames are wanted too. Anything’s better then nothing.
