Chapter 9

A/N: OKAY! I thought of something. I actually thought about a lot of things, like whether to get my hair cut, Or to actually do my homework, or to start talking to the psychiatrist. I also thought about what would happen if Nun’s overran the world and forced us into the Christianity. That would suck, especially since I’m an Atheist. And Please send me some reviews. I’m in desperate need of some.

And Now on with the story:

A few weeks had passed since Ben and Rachel’s split. Ben, I mean I had put in some intense training. Who knows what Rachel has been doing? Only another fic can tell, but that’s beside the point. Phobias has been training me too. He’s been training me to be more polite and reserved, and to not flip out, and to act more like a gentleman around the other humans.
Now I sit in the park on Saturday morning, playing around on my guitar. I was in a band in Neo Saffron, so I decided to sharpen my skills slightly (and I really can play the guitar in real life, you bastards don’t have to believe me). Phobias and Java were discussing different air patterns and currents and how they can be used to a psychics advantage.  Psyclock had evolved into a Natu, and was currently meditating. Mystique is sprinting, working on its physical strength. It seems in just a few weeks, we have all matured. It’s kind of funny. They all respect me as a best friend and a leader, and I respect them as best friends, and partners.
I sigh and play another song that my band and I use to play together, but they are all dead. They were a year older then me, I’m only 15 now, but when I was 13, they were 14 and all got drunk and busted into a bank in a neighboring town, and were shot down by the cops. They were like a family to me, all we had were each other and our Pokemon. But there dead now.
Another tear slides don my cheek. It seems I’ve been doing a lot of crying since Phobias’ and my talk back in that ally a few weeks ago.
I sigh again.
“Are you okay.” A sweet voice asks curiously.
I open my eyes and stop playing. My once yellow, now gray eyes were now starring into beautiful blue eyes.
“Yea…” I reply, “I’m fine.”
I force a smile.
“Do you mind if I sit down?” She asks.
“Go ahead.” I return.
I sigh again and close my eyes, My restless fingers go to work on the strings of my guitar, but my mind is else where. My mind is forcing unwanted memories to come into view.
Another tear rolls down my cheek as I relive my family’s death. Witnessing all of my family being shot, before the gun turns to me. A lone finger tugs on the trigger, and a bullet is embedded into my chest. I look down at it questionably until another lead projectile is lodged into my chest and I lose consciousness.
“Are you sure your okay?” The Girl asks again, snapping me out of my trance, “You know you were crying… It’s not very manly to cry.”
She smiles sweetly at me.
“It’s not very Manly to deny your true feelings either.” I return in a voice barely above a whisper.
“You are a very smart guy you know.” The girl informs me, “ I bet that you are probably a lot stronger then you look, the same with your Pokemon.”
“Maybe.” I return.
“Well how about we battle.” She demands.
I sigh again, “Sure.”
She smiles evilly at me, “how many Pokemon you got?”
“4.” I reply, while returning each of my Pokemon but Phobias.
“Okay. A four on four battle then.” She declares, “Kristen calls out Phoenix!”
The girl tosses out a master ball, from which the Flaming bird Moltres appears.
I smile, “Your up Phobias.”
Phobias launches a huge Psy Wave at the legendary bird before teleporting behind the appropriately named Phoenix.
“Ki Blast.” I command once Phobias appeared behind the Moltres.
Phobias raised both his hands,. And thrust them forward sending a column of energy at the Bird.
“Phoenix hang in there.” The Kristen called out, “Use your Sacred Fire.”
I smile again, “Illusionary Wall.” I command. Phobias raises his hands once again, this time creating an impenetrable barrier.
The searing flames bounce off of the invisible wall, harmlessly floating to the grounded.
“You are really good.” Kristen complements, “I’ve never heard of a few of your techniques.”
“You’ve probably never heard of this one either.” I reply, “Finish it with Brain Freeze.” I command Phobias.
Phobias closes his eyes, then snaps them open,  glowing an eerie blue.
Moltres doubles over in pain and crashes down hard on the ground, Unconscious.
My smile turns to a frown and I get serious.
“Enough games.” I announce, “I tire of this.”
Kristen chucks out an ultra ball, Obviously furious, “Now I call forth Dark-Star.” She declares.
An Umbreon appears on the dirt battlefield.
“Shadow Ball.” She commands.
“Shadow-Deny.” I order phobias.
Umbreon’s forehead starts to spark with ghost shadow energy. And in a mere fraction of a second, it dies down to nothing.
“What the hell.” Rachel asks puzzled, “What did you do.”
“Shadow deny, a demonic move that forbids the summoning of the shadow which includes ghost attacks and dark.” I reply.
She frowns, “Use your Quick attack Dark-Star.”
“Purist Light.” I command phobias to perform a finishing move.
Dark-Star charges foreword, but stops in it’s tracks, as a white aura surrounds it. Suddenly, it’s as if the Umbreon used a Explosion technique.
“I’m done battling you; you can’t achieve anything by continuing.” I announce.
Kristen returns her Umbreon sadly. I only had 2 Pokemon anyway. I didn’t expect you to beat my Phoenix.”
I look harshly at her, “Don’t assume anything.” Then I leave, Phobias trailing behind me.
Kristen stares after me, “Strange.” She whispers to herself, before strolling to the Pokemon Center.

Half an hour later at the Pokemon Center:

“What is it today Ben?” They Young Nurse Joy asks sweetly. We’ve being seeing a lot of each other since I decided to stay and train here in Neo Pewter City.
“Just another Check up.” I reply.
“Sure.” She smiles and goes into the back room with my Pokemon. She just thinks they’re in really good shape, she is oblivious to their power. Not that it would matter if she knew.
I sigh and take a seat in the lobby.

A few minutes later:

“Your Pokemon are in wonderful shape.” The Pokemon doctor complements.
“Thanks. I train them hard.”  I return.
The friendly nurse just smiles at me as I exit the Pokemon center. I pull on a pair of beat up headphones and pop in a Soulfly CD. I continue down the street, towards the hotel I was staying at, the headphones drowning out all other sound.

A/N: I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been grounded (again). Not my fault either, it was those fuckin preps that always get me in trouble, although I did wipe a ton of chocolate pudding down a kids back. But that result in him punching me, and me punching him. Repeatedly. I was suspended (again) and he got shit. Not that anyone cares about what I have to say anyway. Damn Preps. And sorry it took so long for me to finally continue this fic. I was preoccupied. Summer was cool, but all good things come to an end, endless days of skating till midnight are all gone. This Chapter was used to show a character change and development, I guess I’m trying to make me as much as I can like me. Review me if you think I should reintroduce Rachel. Tell me if I should have her shot. It can be arranged. And once again I changed my e-mail address to enjoy00069@netscape.net.  Send reviews.
