Okay, how'd you like the previous parts? Well, if you read this far, I'm very proud of you. Now, I do not own any of these characters. A bunch of other folks do, yadda, yadda, yadda, blah, blah, blah. Now on with Part 6 of this fic.

Part 6: Weird Pokémon!

RP: Last time we left our heroes, the group had contacted Professor Oak, who was no help what-so-ever for Ash and his friends.  Afterwards, the mysterious cloaked stranger returned once more, challenging Ash to a Pokémon battle, who gladly accepted.  Will Ash be able to beat this strange guy?

Ash Title: Weird Pokémon!

"What kind of a Pokémon is that?" Kenji stared in awe.

"I don't know, but I'm getting me some good shots of it right now!"

"Hold on, I better get a quick sketch of this one!  I hope we encounter some more Pokémon like this, so that I may study them and present the information to Professor Oak."

Todd started to snap photos while Kenji started to sketch profusely.  The Pokémon was a very dark color, like a shadow with eyes, only a lighter shade.  It was fairly large, about the size of a Gengar or a small Raichu.  Its eyes were an unhealthy red color, it had short, pointy ears, and stood upright, just as a Gengar would, but it obviously wasn't a ghost type Pokémon, as it had fur, almost like an Eevee.

Confused, Ash pulled out his Pokédex and pointed it at the strange Pokémon before them.  It pinged, and replied, in a robotic voice, "No data found."

"No, not again!" the boy groaned.

"If you upgraded me every once in a while…"

"…you would be able to identify more Pokémon.  I know, Dexter, I know."

"Even if you did," Dexter continued, "I still do not think that I would be able to identify this type of Pokémon."

"Gee, thanks for nothing," Ash muttered, putting the hand-held Pokémon encyclopedia away.  "Well, I don't care what kind of Pokémon that is!"  He pulled off a small red & white sphere, just as the cloaked stranger had.  "Bulbasaur, I choose you!"

The light green, plant-type Pokémon, with the bulb on his back emerged from his Pokéball with a loud, "Bulba!"

"I know you've never seen this kind of Pokémon before, Bulbasaur, but do your best!"  Bulbasaur nodded determinedly.  "Use your Vine Whip!"

The cloaked stranger laughed slightly.  "Go, Zugeng!  Take the hits from that wimpy Bulbasaur!"

The strange Pokémon nodded, and rushed out to Bulbasaur, who was now enraged over the fact that someone had referred to him as wimpy.  Two vines emerged from Bulbasaur's back, and started to hit the "Zugeng" continuously.  It just stood there, hit after hit, not even wincing.  Everyone stared on in surprise when they saw the attack wasn't having any affect at all on the dark Pokémon.

"Bulbasaur, use your Razor Leaf attack, now!"

Bulbasaur retracted his vines, and tossed out two highly spinning leaves, but the cloaked stranger just smirked arrogantly at the attempt.  "Zugeng, use your Retract Attack!"

The Zugeng obviously moved, so that the attack would go right past it, but, it was so fast, it was like it never moved.

'Wow,' Brock looked on, quite impressed with the Pokémon.  'It's like it used an advanced agility technique.'

"Err, no fair!" Ash cried out, trying to think of what he should instruct Bulbasaur to do next.

"I hate to say it," Todd got another shot of the Zugeng, "but I'm actually glad he's losing," he whispered to Kenji.  "I can get in more shots this way."

"It's helping me out too since it's not moving as much, allowing me to make a nice, detailed sketch."  He looked down at his sketch, satisfied.  "Now, what was it called…oh yeah," he wrote at the top of the canvas, ズゲイング, "Zugeng, what a strange name."

Ash was deep in thought, trying to come up with some kind of strategy.  He stared up at the now dark sky, night had finally approached them, and the moon was shining down brightly in the clearing they were all standing in.  It then hit him what to do.

"Bulbasaur, fight back with your LUNAR BEAM!"

"Ash," Misty protested, "the sun isn't out for him to use that kind of attack!"

"I said Lunar Beam, not Solar Beam."

Their mouths hanging open, Brock and Misty stuttered out a shocking, "H-how---"

"I wanted Bulbasaur to use his Solar Beam at night, but since the sun isn't out at night, I taught him to take in the moon's energy and form a beam that way.  I had learned from Professor Oak that this move was possible, but very difficult for a Pokémon to learn.  Since Bulbasaur is a grass-type, though, the Lunar Beam won't be as strong as his Solar Beam.  Professor Oak also told me that a type, like a Clefairy, if taught this 'ancient technique' would be pretty powerful.  I wasn't going to show this move off until my league matches, but now is as good a time as any."

Brock, Misty, Kenji, and Todd were all totally amazed.

"Lunar Beam?  Puh-lease!  Zugeng, use your Mirror Reflection attack!"

Zugeng used its Mirror Reflection attack, which sent Bulbasaur's somewhat powerful beam right back at him. Its stomach had turned to that similar of a mirror, which reflected the beam.

"Fushi!!" Bulbasaur cried as the force of the attack, knocked him back.

"Ahh, Fushigidane!"  He held the Pokémon in his arms.  "Daijoubu ka?"
RP: Daijoubu ka simply means, "Are you all right" or "What's wrong".  And Fushigidane is Bulbasaur's original name, which means "mysterious plant" to my knowledge.  Well, I know that fushigi = mysterious.

"I went easy on your Bulbasaur," the cloaked stranger's voice rang out in cruel laughter.  "I didn't let my Zugeng use its real power."  He looked down at Bulbasaur, who was still being held by Ash.  "Hmm, you may have what it takes after all since you taught that pathetic plant of yours how to use a Lunar Beam, an ancient technique that no trainer has successfully taught his or her Pokémon."

"My Bulbasaur is not pathetic!" Ash told him darkly.  "He's a strong Pokémon, and a great friend!"  Ash took out Bulbasaur's Pokéball, and recalled him, the red beam sucking him back in.  "Pikachu, I choose you!"

"You call back a pathetic plant, just to send out a worthless electric rat?"  He grinned.  "What should I use against such an unworthy Pokémon such as a Pikachu…"

Pikachu was ready to use Thunder on the trainer, but Ash managed to keep the temperamental electric rodent under control.

"Okay, Zugeng, return.  You did a very good job."  After Zugeng returned to its Pokéball, he unhooked another one from his belt.  "Michu, come forth!"

"Michu?"

Misty: Isn’t she that girl from Bishoujo Senshi Sera Muun S and Bishoujo Senshi Sera Muun Sera Sutasu, the pretty one with the violin?

Brock: Pretty girl, where, where! Michu what a lovely name. Hello, where are you…I’m Brock the Rock! (Looking behind bushes and climbing up trees) Come out come out wherever you are!

Todd: (Under his breath) Brock’s pathetic.

RP: (Sweatdrop, not to mention everyone else had one from Brock’s behavior) I’m pretty fond of her character. I used to play the violin too. (Thinking about what Misty just said about Michiru) NO THAT’S MICHIRU! KAIOH MICHIRU, NOT MICHU!

Misty: (Sweatdrop) Sorry, my mistake.

Brock: (Taking out some flowers) Oh Michiru-san! Where are you!

RP: She’s taken so don’t bother. Besides, I don’t think she, (clears throat), goes for, (clears throat again), guys like you...but then again...never mind.

Brock: WHY NOT!

RP: BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T THAT’S WHY! Anyway, she has Tenoh Haruka.

Brock: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHO HE IS! BROCK THE ROCK CAN LAY THE SMACK DOWN ON HIM ANY TIME!

RP: Just forget it Brock! Michiru wouldn't want you and Haruka could kick your butt any day! I know this for a fact. Those rock hard muscles of yours wouldn’t compare to her strength. She could use World Shaking and knock you out!

Brock: But…(realizes what RP just said) did you just say…

Misty: (Swinging her mallet at him) SHE WOULDN’T WANT YOU, NOW SHUTUP!

Brock: Itete!.

Note: Itete! simply means, "Ouch!"

RP: Thank you Misty, although the mallet wasn't truly necessary! (Sweat drops) But still, I didn't feel like explaining that one.

Misty: No problem.

Ash took out his Pokédex and pointed it at the Pokémon, Dexter's robotic tone quite smart allecky.  "Michiru…I mean, Michu, another Pokémon of which I have no data on."

"Oh yeah, that's right."

The Pokémon was about the same size as Pikachu, and also had a similar build.  Its coat was quite dark and shadowy, which made it fairly difficult to determine an accurate color for it.  Its eyes were a beautiful, majestic blue, but the pupils were a dark, glassy brown.  It could stand on all fours, if it chose to, and its tail was short and stubby.  Because of its size, Pikachu didn't feel intimidated at all.

"Pikachu, use agility, and when you get an opening, attack with your Thunder Punch!"  The loyal Pokémon nodded, as he ran towards the strange dark Pikachu-like Pokémon, his speed increasing to the point where he seemed invisible.

"Like a Thunder Punch is going to hurt my Michu!"  He yawned, as if bored of this battle and needed a real challenge.  "Michu, counterattack with your Shadow Punch!"

When Pikachu thought he had an opening, his small paw became electrified, and he swung it at the strange creature, but the Michu evaded by a fraction of a second, and punched Pikachu with its Shadow Punch.  Its fist seemed to have a very dark aura surrounding it, when it had punched the poor electric Pokémon.  Pikachu flew back to where Ash was standing.

"Pikachu!"

Ash rushed to his partner's side, but Pikachu stood up on his own, and shook his head, and stared around in perplexity, as if he couldn't figure out what he was supposed to be doing, or even why he was there.

Brock, who had been analyzing the battle intensely, crossed his arms.  Both Mewtwo and Misty just watched, while Kenji and Todd took advantage of the situation by sketching and snapping photos.  "Hmm, Shadow Punch must be some type of a confusion attack," Brock determined, "and confusion type attacks are normally most common with psychic types."

"He speaks the truth," the quietest of them said.  "I sense a great deal of confusion for the electric Pokémon."

"Oh Mewtwo, is Pikachu hurt in any way, though?" Misty asked worriedly.

"No, Pikachu will be fine.  Pokémon can withstand a temporary confusion attack."

"Pikachu, use Thunder!"

"Michu, use Block, and then Double Take!"

The Michu stood its ground, putting its arms in front of its body, as if creating some kind of an invisible barrier, allowing it to block the attack successfully.  After the quick block, it cloned itself in two.

"Pikachu, Thunder Wave!"

Pikachu stared at each Michu, still a bit confused from the earlier attack.  Usually, such a tactic didn't work on the experienced Pokémon, and he could pick out one's clone without thinking twice about it.  Because of the slight confusion attack, he couldn't really distinguish the fake Michu from the real one, so he chose at random.  The Michu took its clone as the Thunder Wave was headed towards it, and used the clone like some kind of a shield.  The wave was reflected off of the clone, and before Pikachu could counter on his own - or before Ash could come up with something - it had hit him, paralyzing the electric rodent instantaneously.

"Oh no, Pikachu!"

"Good job, pal.  Michu, return!"  He re-hooked the Pokéball back to his belt.  He then laughed cruelly, as Ash was now holding a shaking Pikachu, who was struggling to try and move on his own.  "If you can't beat me (one of the best trainers around), what makes you think that you can beat the Gym Leader of Lost Kage Island?"

"I will beat whoever the gym leader is!"  He then quietly added, "I don't have a choice."

Not really caring whether this cloaked weirdo hung around or not, Brock (as well as the others) was concerned over Pikachu.  "Ash, you better give Pikachu a Paralyze Heal.  It should help him until you can get him to a Pokémon Center."

"I don't have any potions with me, or a Paralyze Heal or even an antidote for poison type attacks."

"What!!  Ash!!  Why not!"

"Well, I was hoping to be there by now," he explained.  "I was going to buy some there, but I wasn't planning on getting into any kind of a battle on our way."

"You seem like a determined boy," the stranger stated positively, no trace of sarcasm in his voice what-so-ever.  "You'll find your way, I'm pretty sure of it."

"First you taunt him, and now you're being nice to him?"  Brock didn't understand this guy's motives at all.  "What do you want, anyway?"

He just stared at the group, as fog started to roll in once again.  "My Pokémon are weak - with the exception of my Michu - in comparison to the ones you will be going against, kid.  I'll give you a hint as to how to get to the island, since you are such a pathetic looking trainer."

Ash glared at him, this young man's arrogance was starting to remind him of Gary's, but of course, he knew it wasn't him.  For this person was taller, and obviously older.

"Pokémon are the key to getting to and from the island, unless you're special in some way."  The fog was now so thick, the group could no longer see him, but could only hear his voice, which was also growing fainter.  "Remember, Pokémon are the key.  I'll see you chumps later."

After the fog lifted, just like before, he had vanished.

"I am not pathetic," Ash insisted, "I just don't like riddles."

"Hey, look, on the other side of this clearing where that loser was standing!  I see a light!"

Everyone looked towards the light Misty was talking about and made their ways over towards it. It was a soft bluish-white glow. The white light formed a door, but it was on the ground.

Brock kneeled down and tried to turn the knob, but couldn’t.  "It's like the door is here, and then again, it's not.  I can't grasp the door's handle."

"Maybe you can go through it?"  Before anyone could object, Ash stood on the translucent looking door, in hopes of somehow falling through it, but he had no luck.

"I don't think so Ash.  If I couldn't turn the handle, I doubt you could just go through it."

"If this is the way to Lost Kage Island, then another part of the riddle is solved."  Kenji smiled triumphantly.  "This is the last place one would think of looking to get to an island."

"Yeah, you're right," Todd agreed, "but what about that key thing?"

'Pokémon are the key of getting to the island, according to that jerk in the cloak.  Since this place has nothing but rare, unusual Pokémon, then one must need strange or rare Pokémon in order to enter.  The Pokémon that boy used, seemed to use psychic attacks at one point.'  Misty snapped her fingers, finally coming to a nice conclusion.  "I think I've got it, you all!"

Everyone stared at Misty.  "What?"

"Pokémon are the key!  You saw what type of Pokémon that guy was battling with!  We've never seen them before, so, in other words, they would be considered rare."

Ash rolled his eyes, growing quite impatient.  "Wow, I didn't know that!" he replied sarcastically.

Misty shot him a look and continued.  "We must need rare or unusual Pokémon to unlock this door, and from the looks of the glow, you have to use a pyschic type; a rare psychic type."

Kenji caught on quite quickly.  "Like Mewtwo!"

"Or even my Togepi!  Both are rare and they're both psychic types…or maybe Togepi is partially."

RP: For my fics, Togepi is a Psychic type…well, part anyway.  It used teleport for goodness sakes!  Or was that Metrenome

"Good thinking, Misty!" Todd complimented.

"Yeah, that never came to mind to me," Brock commented, patting the younger girl on the back.

"The redheaded one is very wise."

"Thanks," she slightly blushed.

"Wow, that's great Misty," Ash started, growing slightly apprehensive of what he was going to say next, "but how do we exactly open the door?"

Misty looked at him, as if in deep thought.  She then answered coolly (to Ash's surprise), "I have no clue, Ash."

"I think I may have an idea.  Since Togepi doesn't know how to use his psychic attacks entirely, how about we just have Mewtwo use his most powerful barrier, and teleport us," Kenji suggested.  "Maybe if he does so, we can all get through the strange door."

"You may be on to something," Misty complimented.  "That would mean another part of the riddle is solved!  You have to use your mind to get there, and not your eyes.  Mewtwo would have to use his mind and concentrate in order to teleport, while keeping a barrier around all of us.  You also wouldn't think to use a psychic Pokémon's barrier to go through a door."  She then realized something else.  "We also haven't moved from this clearing since we first got here, and he did keep saying, 'you are already there', and here we are!"

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  Since we can't physically open the door, or physically go through it - like Ash tried to earlier - then I deduced that we just have to use our minds."

"It's worth a shot."  Ash turned to the tall, quiet Pokémon.  "Are you up to it Mewtwo?  If not, we can try another way."

"No, no, I am quite capable of using barrier, as well as maintaining and using another attack simultaneously.  Teleport is a fairly simple process; a very basic attack for a Psychic Pokémon."

"What are we waiting for then, let's go!" Brock cheered.  Everyone nodded.

"All of you must get close together, so that my barrier will enclose on us all."

Ash: (Hugging on Misty) I don’t mind getting close to you, Kasumi-chan.

Misty: (Laughing a bit/hugging back) Me either, Sao-chan.

Todd: (Rolling his eyes/a bit annoyed at the two) Now THAT’S mushy.

Kenji: (Agreed) You said it.

RP: (Rolling eyes) Bingo! Had to throw in some mush some where.

Brock: Oh brother. Knock it off, you two.

Ash: (Ignoring Brock’s plea) Did I mention how much I adore you, Kasumi-chan?

Misty: (Also ignoring Brock) In more ways than one, Sao-chan. (Kisses Ash passionately)

Brock: (Head about 20 times its normal size) I SAID TO KNOCK IT OFF!

Ash and Misty broke their kiss.

Misty: (Turning red with anger) YOU OUGHT TO KNOW THIS BY NOW! TAKESHI, NEVER RUIN MY ROMANTIC MOMENTS! (Punches him like she did in Bye Bye Butterfree for intefering with "romance").

Brock: (In pain) Sorry!

RP: (Shakes head) Poor Brock…

"All right guys," Ash instructed, "stand on the door, and let Mewtwo do his thing, and stick together!  We don't want anyone to get separated."

Once everyone was settled and huddled as much as they possibly could, the Pokémon showing to be in concentration.  A blue aura surrounded Mewtwo, as it grew larger and larger, into like a bubble, but it was just around him.  Barrier was quite simple, but he had never had to include others with him.  He focused harder, the aura growing larger and larger, so as to surround Ash and the others.  In a matter of mere seconds, the attack was complete, and everyone was in Mewtwo's barrier.

'This is a bit more difficult than I anticipated,' the Pokémon thought.  'I do hope I will be able to carry along so many others in this fashion.'

"This is amazing," Kenji stated in awe.  "I never knew a Pokémon could do this.  I was just theorizing."

Mewtwo went back to concentrating, so as to now teleport the group, along with himself.  One wrong thought and it could be over, as in they end up in a totally different area than originally planned.  He focused on the door, and on it leading to Lost Kage Island.  After a moment of light meditation, Mewtwo was ready.  "Prepare yourselves," he told them, as he closed his eyes, a golden light surrounding him and the others.  A few seconds later, the group had vanished through the bluish-white lit door…

RP: Will they make it? Are they going the right way? Does anyone else think this is unusual so far just to get to an island? Tune in next time for Part 7 of this fic if you want to know what happens!

Okay, okay. In my opinion, this is getting pretty boring, but I still appreciate feedback. I was kind of bored and just let my imagination run wild with this part and every other part for that matter. Also, notice how I used the Japanese names of the characters, with the exception of Kenji since Kenji is his Japanese name, due to the fact I got bored, like I mentioned earlier. Let me know what you think. My address is pikato8270 at aol .com or you can either send it to SSJupiter at aol .com.

Japanese Phrases/words
Okay, as you can see, I put "Zugeng" into Japanese; Katakana to be exact (anyone else find Zugeng to be a lame name?).  There are three writing systems in Japan:  Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji.  Hiragana is used for native words, pretty much, or Furigana (will explain this in a moment).

Katakana is used for foreign words or foreign names, for sound emphasis.  Above, ズゲイング spells "Zu ge i n gu" for sound emphasis, and Romanized would spell, "Zugeng".  For the record, all of the Pokémon's names are written in Katakana.  I'll use another Pokémon's name for example, a real one.  Mewtwo's name would be written out as "ミュウツウ".  Mi yu u tu u.  It's mainly for sound emphasis.  Technically, it would be written, Myuutuu or Myuutsuu.  The "myu" is there for the "mew" sound.

Kanji is a writing system adopted from China, pretty much.  One character can mean a certain word.  Like let's use "light" for example.  Light, in Japanese, is "Hikari".  Instead of using one of the alphabet systems (Hiragana/Katakana), you can write it out in Kanji.  The Kanji for light is "".

Now, Furigana is used with Kanji characters.  Some Kanji characters can have multiple meanings and can easily be misread because of that, so, written above the Kanji character are small, Hiragana characters, which shows as to how the Kanji is supposed to be read.  I'll use Hikari again.  Let's say a person doesn't know much Kanji, but knows the Japanese alphabet (Hiragana/Katakana).  The characters above the Kanji for "" would read, in small print (Hiragana), "ひかり" (Hi ka ri).  Okay, there goes your brief, Japanese lesson for the day. lol

Bishoujo Senshi Sera Muun S - Pretty Sailor Soldier Sailor Moon S (The third season of SM aka Sailor Moon S/the best season imo)

Bishoujo Senshi Sera Muun Sera Sutasu - Pretty Sailor Soldier Sailor Moon Stars (The fifth and final season of SM aka Sailor Moon Stars)

Kaioh Michiru - Sera Senshi Neptune (Just one of my favorite outers of Sailor Moon S and Stars Tomoe Hotaru/Saturn is my favorite outer, Michiru coming in second as my favorite outer)

Tenoh Haruka - Sera Senshi Uranus (Another Senshi that appears in S and Stars. There is controversy with the type of relationship Haruka and Michiru has, which is why the last three seasons of Sailor Moon has never been shown in the US, although Haruka and Michiru aren't in the season in between Sailor Moon S and Stars)
