Okay, I’m back. Here is Part 7 of this fic. I don’t know why I’m bothering, but I’m going to say it anyway. THESE CHARACTERS DO NOT BELONG TO ME, NEVER HAS AND NEVER WILL! That feels good to say, now on with this fic.

Ash: 13
Misty/Todd: 14
Kenji: 17
Brock: 19

Part 7: We’re on Lost Kage Island?

RP: Last time, the gang had another encounter with the strange man in the cloak. He battled Ash with two strange looking Pokémon, which Ash’s Pokédex couldn’t find any data on. Ash lost to the guy, but did find a strange door. The gang now hopes that it takes them to Lost Kage Island.

Ash Title: We’re on Lost Kage Island?

Ash opened his eyes, only to find that it was difficult to see and that he was still holding Pikachu.  It took him a moment to realize what had just happened, sitting upright.  "Guys, are you there?"

"We're here," he heard a voice echo from his right say.  It was Misty.  "And we're okay."

"Where are we?"

"Could this be Lost Kage Island?" Ash heard Todd ask.

Brock frowned, even though the others couldn't see it.  "Maybe, but it's like we're sitting in one big shadow."

"This place…"

"…kowakute kurai desu," Misty finished quietly for the photographer.

RP: That above just says, "…it's scary and dark"
Ash, not caring at the moment whether or not it was dark or scary, looked around for his Pokémon companions.  "Mewtwo, Pikachu, are you guys okay?"

"Pi, Pikachu!" he heard Pikachu say from his arms, still paralyzed from his battle.

"I am fine, but I am now wondering if I may have made a miscalculation."

"Maybe since it was dark where we came from, it has a lot to do with why it's dark now."

"Could be, Kenji," Brock nodded, "but this place is weird.  It's like we're in a big, empty room."

"Well, let's find our way out of it."  Ash, and the others, stood up while Kenji managed to find his flashlight in his backpack.  "I have to get Pikachu and Bulbasaur to a Pokémon Center."

"I wish it were light out," Misty complained, following behind Ash and the others.  She could only make them out vaguely since Kenji's flashlight was a bit dim.  "Togepi hates the dark."

"Sure you don't mean you?" Ash teased.

"Of course not!  I'm not sc-scared of the dark!"

Ash laughed stupidly as he stopped his walk, Brock nearly bumping into him, and Kenji and Todd behind him, along with Mewtwo.  "Real funny, Misty.  I didn't know that you were scared of the dark!  Misty's a big baby!"

Brock grabbed the paralyzed Pikachu out of Ash's arms, and backed away, along with Todd and Kenji.  They knew what was in store for him after that remark.  A mallet fell upon the head of the young Pokémon Trainer, who hopped up and down, holding his head.

"I do not like being made fun of!" she fumed.  "Togepi doesn't like the dark, and I'm not too fond of it either!" she spat.  "I just wish it were light out!"

After Misty's last words, the sky started to light up, birds chirping.

"Hey, it's the sun!" Ash pointed.  "It's rising!"

Ash was, indeed, right; for the sun was rising, and the group no longer seemed to be in a shut-up room.  Instead, they were on a dirt path, and behind them, a forest of some sort.

"That's strange."  Kenji put his flashlight away, as he no longer needed it.  "We just got here, and a sunrise doesn’t happen that fast."

"This is really peculiar," Brock slightly panicked, handing Pikachu back to the trainer.  He looked back at the forest behind him.  "We didn't go through the woods to get to wherever we are, and what happened to the room we were in?"

"Since we don't want to go back through the woods, let's just follow this dirt path," Kenji suggested.

"Hey guys, look!"  Todd pointed about 400 meters (a quarter of a mile) ahead of them.  "It looks like some kind of a town!"

"Oh, thank goodness!  Let's go there and find ourselves a place to stay and get ourselves a bite to eat!"  The girl didn't wait for anyone to protest as she ran ahead towards the town that seemed to appear from out of no place.  The others trailed behind her.

Misty stopped at the town's entrance, just as the others did, gazing around.  There were quite a few people out and about, women sweeping off stoops, people speaking with the neighbors, etc.  In the background of this town, were some mountains.

"I can't read this sign.  It looks to be written in Romanized English and the greeting under the town's name, is written in English."

"We can worry about that later, Brock.  I have to get Pikachu and Bulbasaur to a Pokémon Center."

The group entered the town, and came to the center, where a giant board sat.  On it, seemed to list what could be found in the town, but once again, everything was written out in English.

"What's with this town and the English," Todd griped.  "I can speak it okay, but I can't really read it."

"Calm down," Kenji pointed to the center of the map.  "This is definitely a Pokémon Center, just by the symbol and it looks to be north of where we are (the village square), so let's go."

They all agreed as they walked the short distance to where the map seemed to indicate was a Pokémon Center, taking notice of their surroundings.  The town seemed to be that of a big one and very well settled.  As they made their way through, they saw shops, houses, restaurants, outdoor vendors selling fresh fruits, veggies, and fish, as well as children playing innocently in the streets, games such as tag.

The group finally made it to a large building, with a giant "P" on the front of it and two pink egg-shaped Pokémon on either side of it wearing nurse's caps.

"This place can't be the Pokémon Center, can it?" Todd asked while staring at the large building awe-stricken.  "It's too big!"

"It has to be," Kenji pointed out sensibly, "look at the two Pokémon by the sign, they're Chansey."

"Let's just go in," Ash urged.  "My Pokémon need medical help!"

The group walked into the center, the sliding doors opening. The inside was just as impressive as the outside was.  It was very big, and elegant, the walls of the gym decorated with beautiful Pokémon art.

When entering the center, there was a sign with a few locations, for those to navigate the center.  This sign was written so that the group could understand it this time, but it still had English for some parts.

"To see the nurse, go straight ahead," Brock read hesitantly.  The other options were a bit iffy to them, as they were written in English, but they didn't care too much about that.

They took the hallway right in front of them, and, to their surprise, they found a lady in a nurse’s outfit behind the counter, but it didn’t look quite like the typical Nurse Joy that the others had encountered in the past. Her hair was more of a light red color instead of its normal pinkish tone. Her hair wasn’t styled in two loops; instead it was loosely hanging down a little past her shoulders. She had on a typical Nurse Joy uniform, but it showed her girlish figure and the outfit was sleeveless.

"Hello there," the young woman greeted with a bow speaking, surprisingly, in Japanese to them.  "Welcome to the Kage Island Pokémon Center.  What may I do for you?"

Ash rushed to the counter.  "Well, you could help us out by---"

Right at that moment, Brock pushed Ash out of the way.  "Nurse Joy, glad to see you!" he rambled as he grabbed her hand.  "You're the youngest, and prettiest, Joy yet!  You even dress differently than all the other ones."

"Joy?"  She took her hand out of his.  "My name isn't Joy."

"Then what is your name?" Kenji asked curiously.

"Watashi wa Joya desu."

"Joya?"

"Yes, Joya."

"Well, you're the prettiest Joya I've ever had the honor of meeting," Brock continued on, in dream girl mode.

"She's the only Joya you've ever met," Misty muttered under her breath in annoyance.

The girl blushed slightly.  "A-arigatou gozaimasu."

Brock's eye seemed to twinkle as he gave her a seductive smile.  "You're a nice, sexy looking girl, and I know you want me."  He started to flex his muscles.

"Oh brother," Misty groaned, with a sweat drop.

The nurse, however, giggled at Brock's attempts in pure amusement.

"So," he leaned on the counter, and stared into her eyes, "konya eega ni ikimasen ka?"

RP: That phrase simply means, "How about we go to the movies tonight?"

"Here it comes!" Todd warned while shaking his head.

"Another put down," Ash sighed.

"When will he ever learn," Misty grumbled.

"Which one of us drags him off this time?" Kenji asked.

"A movie?"  Brock nodded.  "Well, it's kind of sudden, and you do seem like a nice guy…so sure, I would love to join you for a movie."

Everyone's jaws dropped.  Brock had actually managed to get a date!  He didn't know how to reply since, well, he'd never gotten this far before.  "Y-you will?"

She smiled; Brock felt as if he was in heaven.  "Sure I will.  Movies are quite fun, and it would also be rude to turn down such a generous offer."

"Um, Joya-san," Ash butt in, growing bored of Brock's love-struck looks, "where are we?"

She smiled weakly, wondering how this kid could have missed her greeting.  "You don't even know where you are?"

"I wouldn't have asked the question if I didn't know," Ash replied quite sarcastically.

Brock grabbed Ash, and put him into a headlock, even though Ash was still holding Pikachu, careful not to drop him.  "My young friend here hasn't learned any manners yet," he chuckled nervously.  "This boy is harmless."  He let go of him.  "Now, apologize to the nice girl for being rude, Ash!"

"But, I---"

"APOLOGIZE TO THIS LOVELY LADY, NOW!!" Brock shouted as he hovered over Ash, his head ten times its normal size.

Misty, Todd, and Kenji sweat dropped from the scene, as a partially scared Ash was now bowing vigorously to Joya, stuttering out, "Go-go-gomen nasai, Joya-san!"

RP: Gomen nasai means, "I am sorry". Gomen just means "sorry". Gomen nasai is a more polite way of saying it, pretty much.

"What Ash meant," Kenji stepped up, "was that we have an idea as to where we are, but wanted a bit of confirmation."

"Oh, so you guys just arrived here?"  They all nodded.  "Well, you are on Lost Kage Island, and this is the Kage Island Pokémon Center.  I guess you didn't hear me say so when you came in."

"Yeah!  We finally made it!  I was right all along!" Ash said, praising himself.

Misty sighed out a puffy cloud.  "He was right?"

"What are your names, by the way?"

"Oh, I apologize for being so rude," Kenji apologized sincerely.  "I'm Kenji, and this is Kasumi-chan.  The Pokémon she's holding is Togepi.  The boy with the camera is Toru-kun.  The hyper kid holding the Pikachu is Satoshi-kun, the tall, quiet Pokémon  there is Mewtwo, and the no-eyed girl-crazed Pokémon breeder, whom of which you met and agreed to go out to the movies with, is Takeshi-san…"

Brock: HEY! KENJI’S CHARACTER IS GIRL CRAZED TOO!

RP: Yeah, but not as bad as your character Brock. You have that reputation you know. Kenji has a bit more self-control. He just sketches the girls he thinks are pretty, which makes me wonder…

Kenji: Don’t even go there, RP! What I sketch is MY business!

RP: (Sweat drop from Kenji’s outburst/To Kenji) Sorry, sorry. You’re probably a decent person, anyway. Sorry for butting into your business. (To Brock) Sorry Brock, I really couldn't resist. You're just so much fun to tease. (Smiles sweetly)

Brock: Come on, give me a break!

RP: What do you think I just did? You did get a date with a pretty girl!

Brock: Oh, um, sorry.

RP: (To the readers) And for the record, I know that Kenji doesn’t use those honorifics with them, but I find they would suit him.  (Claps hands) Okay, now on with this fic
x x x x x x x x x x
"It is very nice to meet you all," she greeted once again, just as polite as she was earlier.  "My name is Joya, and I'm 18.  No need to be formal with me, as I'm not an official nurse as of yet.  I just promised to watch the center today.  It's really run by my older sister, Joya, but she's hanging out with my younger cousin, Joya, and her friend, Jen, shopping."

"Um, could I ask you a quick question?"

"Sure, what is it, Toru-kun?"

"You all wouldn't just happen to be identical, would you?"

"Why yes, we are.  How'd you ever guess that?"

"Let's just call it a hunch," Misty commented ironically.

"Where's the gym?"

"Ash, stop being so rude!"

"Brock, I want to battle the gym leader so I can get my badge!"

"Not many people come here and actually battle."

"I suppose it's because the gym was built not too long ago, right?  Or either it just got authorized to become an official one," Kenji assumed.

She shook her head, her dark red hair falling into her face some.  "No, it's always been here.  The Kage Island Gym is at least 20 years old."

"Twenty?!?"

"Yes, twenty years.  The gym leader is pretty mysterious.  I've never even seen the gym leader, or leaders, there.  I don't know if it's one or two; male or female.  Whenever anyone brings his or her Pokémon here for my sister for treatment, they never describe the match or the leader.  All I know is that the gym leader here has Pokémon that have never been heard of, or seen in any other parts of the world."  She stared to the Pokémon Trainer, a sympathetic look about her round face.  "Are you sure you want to battle there?  It might be too much for you to handle."

"I sure do, and no one's going to stop me!"  He turned to face the way they had come in.  "Let's go now!"

"Ash…"

"Yeah, what is it, Misty?"

"Pikachu and Bulbasaur."

"Oh yeah!  Pikachu and Bulbasaur!"  He turned back to the nurse in training.  "Joya-s…er, Joya-neesan, could you heal Pikachu please?  We got into a battle before we got here.  The trainer had a Pokémon called a Michu, and used an attack that reflected Pikachu's attack back at him, which paralyzed him."
RP: Okay, for that, since Joya doesn't want to be addressed formally, I had Ash use "neesan".  It's pretty much used to address an older girl.  It also means sister.  Actually, "onee" is sister.  Which honorific (san; chan; sama) one uses with "onee", just depends on the person.
'A Michu?'
She stared at Pikachu, as if studying him.  'That's one rare Pokémon that the gym leader may have.  Could that have been the leader that this kid battled?  A Michu hasn't been seen for centuries, even the existence of it is in question, wondering if it could all be legend, and not just extinction like many Pokémon Archeologists, Researchers, and Historians tell us.

'I wonder if the gym leader have ways of obtaining Pokémon this rare and unusual to that extent, which include these supposedly extinct ones…'

"Joya-neesan?"

"Oh, yes.  That's awful!  Let me take your Pikachu, and I'll fix him right up."

"Thanks."

"No problem," she said while picking Pikachu up, who smiled up at the nurse's gentle touch, "this shouldn't take too long at all."

Joya took Pikachu to a machine - located right behind her - and laid him down on the small bed-like object that was in it, and put a metal looking hat on the Pokémon's head.

"Don't worry," she told Pikachu gently, "I have to see what the extent is of the paralysis."

She pushed a few buttons simultaneously on the machine, studying the readout now coming up on the screen, right above the machine, but the text was in English, so the others couldn't read it too well.

"Hmm, okay," she murmured, removing the metal helmet.  "I have the information I need now.  I'm going to assume you were hit by your own Thunder Wave, which is very powerful for a Pikachu.  The damage is about the same level as a well-trained Raichu since you can't move."

After this small explanation, the others still quiet, curious of her ways, went over to a cabinet, and took out some type of a flask, which held some kind of multi-colored liquid, which Ash and the gang had never seen before, Brock included, who was usually up-to-date with such things.

"Okay, Pikachu," Joya said as she went back to him.  She took out a plastic cup, and poured the bright liquid into it.  "I need you to drink this, if you can, and I'll help you."  She cradled Pikachu in her arms, and held the cup for him to drink.  "Don't drink too fast now, don't want you to choke."

Pikachu gulped down the rest of the drink, which tasted tangy, yet sweet.  They were surprised to see that the procedure only took less than a minute to perform, and was also used of potions being sprayed on, not drank.  In no time at all, Pikachu was running around, feeling more strong and energetic than ever before.

"It's great that you're better, Pikachu!" Ash told his Pokémon, but held his head down shamefully.  "I'm sorry for being selfish, worrying more over a badge than your health."

":That's okay.  I knew you wouldn't ignore me on purpose:" Pikachu told his trainer happily.  ":You're just happy that you got here.:"

"Thanks Pikachu."

Pikachu hopped back over to Joya and hugged her.  "Pi Pikachu!" he squealed in gratitude.

"And you're welcome too, Pikachu."

"Joya-neesan," Ash unattached a Pokéball from his belt, "this is Bulbasaur, and he got hit by his own Lunar Beam."

Her eyes nearly bugged out, hearing this.  "Lunar Beam?!  That move…it hasn't been seen in-in well, since practically forever!  It's an ancient technique, and the only Pokémon who have even a chance at mastering it, are Pokémon like Clefairy or Clefable, and those of their type.  I didn't know that Bulbasaur were capable of performing a Lunar Beam."

"They're not," he answered insolently, "I taught him."

"I think this is all going to his head, if it wasn't before," Brock muttered to the others, who all nodded in agreement, with a, "You said it," in unison.

"Well, you all got here just in time for breakfast that's served here.  You must be both tired and hungry after such a journey and a difficult Pokémon battle.  While I fix up your Bulbasaur, you guys can go fill up."

"Breakfast?" Kenji asked.

"Yes, breakfast."

"But it was nighttime when we left!"

"Who cares, Todd!" Misty told the boy.  "I'm starved, and breakfast sounds like a great idea!"

"Wait, Misty," Brock interjected, "we don't know where the breakfast area is."

"Oh, silly me," Joya laughed bashfully, "I didn't tell you where to go.  Well, you know where you came in, and saw the sign?"  They all nodded.  "Well, just go back in that direction.  Since you'll be going back the opposite way you came, you'll go down the hallway located on the left.  The walls of this particular hallway are decorated with many paintings, and have exotic potted plants all down that way, and at the end of it, is the dining hall.  You can't miss it."

"Okay, thanks a lot."

"No problem, Toru-kun."

Ash was a bit hesitant.  "What about Bulbasaur?"

"I have to check out the extent of his damage before I can make a proper diagnosis," she said while holding the Pokéball which held the Grass-Type Pokémon.  "It may take me a bit longer to figure out since this is the first time I've ever had to treat a Pokémon hit by such an uncommon, yet legendary, attack."  The boy looked slightly worried.  "Daijoubu, Satoshi-kun.  Your Bulbasaur will be fine, now you guys go freshen up and rest for a bit."
RP: What I'm trying to say there, is, "Don't worry, Satoshi (Ash)."
It took a bit of persuasion, but Ash went with the rumbling of his stomach, and followed the others to the dining area, even though Brock had wanted to stay with Joya.  The dining hall was quite exquisite and eloquent.  It looked like an outdoor Paris café, only inside with golden candle-lit chandeliers hanging from the ceilings, or either they had stepped into the dining hall of a royal function of the Victorian era.

Each table was a pearly-white, and had exotic designs on each, and the material of the seats of the booths seemed to be of satin.  The room was also decorated with plants all around, which looked to be foreign for the part of the world they lived in.  On the other end of the dining hall, was a glass sliding door.  As a matter of fact, this entire hall had windows.

"Wow, this is beautiful," Misty said, truly mystified at the lovely sight.

Ash whistled in amazement.  "What a Pokémon Center!"

"The architect of this particular Pokémon Center, seemed to have a thing for 19th century European designs," Kenji noted as matter of fact-like.

Todd looked over to Brock, who seemed to still look a bit disheartened.  "I'm surprised."

"Why is that?" Misty asked, finally tearing her eyes away from the beautiful sight.

"Brock actually got a date!"

"Hey!"

"Never mind that," Ash told them, his stomach grumbling louder, "let's get ourselves, and the Pokémon, something to eat."

A young girl with bright, blonde hair, tied back in a ponytail, wearing what looked to be a waitress uniform, walked up to them, Brock not paying one bit of attention to her.  She bowed politely, and asked, in English, "How many are in your party and where would you like to sit?"

"We're all together," Todd answered back in English, as he was the only one who could speak and understand it fluently (verbally).  "And I guess a booth would be nice since there are a lot of us here."

"Alright, follow me please."

They followed the pretty girl to a booth, which was near the sliding door.  After being seated, she handed them all menus and whenever speaking, she stuck with only English, which meant Todd had to do most of the conversing.  "My name is Robin, and I shall be your waitress this morning.  What would you all like to drink?"

Todd quickly translated to the rest, who looked through the menu, telling the young girl what they wanted.  Brock had also requested a newspaper, which the girl kindly got for him.  After the group finished eating their morning meals, Mewtwo indulged in Pokéberry Pie, once again, Brock went to his newspaper, while the others conversed, waiting for the waitress to return with their checks.

"I wonder what's with this place," Ash complained slightly.

"Yeah, why is there so much English?  Seems I'm the only one who understands it enough to hold a conversation."

"Where did you learn English," Misty asked.

"It's from traveling all over to get the best Pokémon on film.  I had to learn it.  I know a bit of French too, and Spanish."

"Wow!" Kenji said, quite impressed.  "I only know one language."

"Speaking of English," Todd looked over to Brock, "what language is the paper in?"

"It's Japanese," he answered quite absent-mindedly.

Misty sipped some of her steaming hot tea.  "Is there anything good in there?"

"Nope, not yet," he said while turning the page.  "They have news from all over, though.  The type of news you would usually only find in those cities' papers. You know, like if someone won a raffle in Cinnibar, how that would only be in Cinnibar's paper, as it's not really important enough to put in national news." Ash looked at him in confusion.  Brock continued.  "I just finished reading an article about some boy in Pewter who lost his Growlithe, and there was one here about a play on some famous Pokémon kidnapping case, and there's another one here about a tribute to the Mayor of Celadon.  All of that is local news for those areas, and aren't really newsworthy to be put in a paper based in another city."  He skimmed through the articles, until one caught his attention.  "Hey, this one is kind of interesting, and it's local news for here."

Kenji, who had been going through his sketches, asked, "What does it say?"

"It says here that the inhabitants of Lost Kage Island have been having difficulty with Psychic type Pokémon. They have been acting strangely and have become distant and/or quiet. They have also been attacking at random. Some also have been known to just take off, disobeying the words of their trainers.  The only Psychic Pokémon that do not seem to be affected by this are young Psychic types who do not yet understand the full potential of their powers."

"That's very strange."  Kenji put his work away.  "I wonder what that's all about."

Brock folded the paper over, to read more of the article.  "Let's just hope we don't encounter any while here."

"Hey, Brock, what's the weather going to be like for today?"

He went back a few pages.  "Let's see," he mumbled, in pursuit of answering the photographer's question, "wow, chances of snow today.  That's very unusual weather for a tropical island in the middle of April.  It was a bit warm, and slightly humid when walking through town."

"It wasn't cold on our way here," Misty insisted.

"How can it snow?  It's not even cloudy out."

"You were saying, Ash?"

"Huh?  What?"

"Take a look out the window," Todd pointed.

Ash, as well as the others who hadn't noticed yet, looked out the window.  It was snowing pleasantly outside, the ground covered, as if it had been snowing for hours.

"Is that…snow?" Ash asked while pointing in disbelief.  The others nodded, dumbfounded.

Kenji sat back in his seat.  "Okay, this is getting very out of the ordinary."

Misty didn't seem too bothered, and a deranged smirk spread across her face.  "Well, you know what this means!"

"Don't say it, Misty!  Please don't say it!" Ash and Brock pleaded

Kenji and Todd looked at the two in confusion.  "What?" both asked in bewilderment.

She jumped out of her seat, Togepi in her arm, and shot one fist up into the air.  "Koko de chotto kaimono o shite ikimasu!!" Togepi chirped happily.
RP: That phrase means, "I'm going to do some shopping here!" lol I guess Ash and Brock are remembering Misty in "Princess vs Princess" when it was "Princess Day" (originally Girl's Day/Doll Festival [Hinamatsuri], a real, national Japanese holiday), and all she did was shop cause everything was on sale.
Brock's eyes were streaked with tears, as he screamed out, quite overly dramatically, "No!!!"

"Well, we're going to have to go sooner or later," Misty pointed out. "We don't have any clothes warm enough for snow."

"She's right, Brock," Kenji agreed.  "I still would like to know exactly how it just went from normal, warm tropical weather to the point where it's cold enough to snow."

Ash sighed depressingly.  "I hate shopping, but she is right.  I guess we can go after we're all done eating."

"Hey guys, I'll be right back.  I have to go call my sisters, since I did promise to when we got here."  Misty sat Togepi down beside Pikachu, who was consuming down bottles and bottles of ketchup.  "Stay here with Pikachu, Togepi."

"Prii, priii, prii!!"

Misty walked off, going down the hall and back to where Joya was, who was working with another Pokémon.

"Joya-san," Misty called, walking up to the counter.

"Oh, hello there.  Are you here to get Bulbasaur?"

"No, but how is he?"

"He's all healed up and ready to go.  Lunar Beam just knocked him out, pretty much, and he was resting up, but there was a bit of damage."  Misty gasped.  "Oh, there was nothing to really worry about, since the Lunar Beam wasn't that strong.  Bulbasaur maybe capable of performing one, but it's not really…his forte, if you get my meaning."

"What do you mean?"

"Hmm, it's like a Water Pokémon who can use an ice-based attack, like say, Ice Beam.  Sure, the Pokémon may be able to do the attack, but of course if an actual Ice Pokémon was the one doing the attack, it'd be stronger as opposed to the Water Pokémon using it."

"Oh, I see what you mean.  I guess that does make sense."

"It's still amazing that this Bulbasaur can perform one, though, and that your friend trained him.  He must be a really skilled trainer to teach a Pokémon a pretty much legendary move."

"Well, Ash is full of surprises."

She handed Misty the Pokéball that contained Bulbasaur.  "Here you go."

"Thanks.  Oh, Joya-san, where are the phones?"

She pointed to the elevator on the opposite side of the room.  "Take the elevator to the second floor.  On the second floor, is pretty much a recreation area where trainers can use the Pokémon Battle Simulators, make calls, converse, trade Pokémon, watch a bit of television…"

"Wow, this place is huge.  Thanks a lot."

Misty walked over towards the elevator, pushing the button.  After a short moment, she entered, and noticed that there were more than two floors to this center, and a basement.  The building had four floors in all, not counting the basement.  Apparently, the first floor had a place for dining and for one to heal his or her Pokémon; the second where one could unwind, pretty much.  She was curious what was on the third and fourth floors, but decided against it, and to stick with her true task.

She stepped off the elevator, to find quite a bit of people at one of the many simulators which took up the majority of the floor.  She also noticed a room with a bunch of trainers.  For one of them, she saw two trainers battling it out.  From the bit of the conversation she caught, one of the trainers was practicing for his upcoming match at the gym, while the other one was just helping him out.

Misty continued on, amused at how Ash would react if he knew this place existed.  Finally, she came to another room which held a lot of phones.  There weren't too many people in there.  She took a seat at one of the pay phones, and dialed up the Cerulean gym…

Meanwhile, back at the gym…

"Ring ring ring, ring ring ring, phone call, phone call," the phone rang loudly.

"Hold on, hold on," a girl with dark hair muttered as she took a seat in front of the phone, straightening up her cream-colored skirt and picking a piece of lint from her yellow, spaghetti-strapped tank-top.  She picked up the phone, a girl appearing on the screen.  "Moshi-moshi."

Both sisters rushed down the hall to the phone Violet was using, standing behind her.

"Hi there!" Daisy greeted in relief.

"It took you long enough to call us!" Lily snapped.

"What do you mean?  We haven't been gone that long, about three hours at the most."

"It's been longer than that," the blonde informed her.  Her beauty and radiance even more enhanced due to the white mid-driff and shorts she was wearing.  No matter what, Daisy seemed to always stand out in comparison to Misty's other two sisters.  She was, hands down, the prettiest of them.  "If you haven't noticed, it's already morning."

"It's morning here too."

"We wanted you to call time you got there!"

"But Violet, we did just get here."

"Never mind that," Daisy civilly replied, "she's safe and that's all that matters."

The other two sisters nodded in agreement with their older sib.

"It was really weird how we got here."

"What do you mean?" Lily - who was wearing a dark blue sleeveless blouse and matching short shorts - queried.

She explained all that had happened after departing the previous day, about the cloaked stranger, the battle, Mewtwo's using barrier and teleport, etc.

"That is strange."  Daisy looked apprehensive once again.  "Are you sure it's a good idea to be there?  I mean, the way you got there was weird enough, but what if you can't get back?"

"I'll worry about that later; I should hurry up and get back to the others.  I just wanted to let you know that we're all right."

"Okay, but call us back soon."

"Okay, Violet."

"Sayonara," all three sisters smiled and waved.

"Sayonara."

Misty hanged up the phone and the image of her three sisters faded.  She left the room, and headed back to the elevator, in deep thought over what her sisters had said, and the strange way they had arrived.  She shrugged it off, and hurried back to rejoin Ash and the others...

Meanwhile, Brock was still reading the paper, while the other remaining members of the group, conversed.  Even Mewtwo was talking with Pikachu, about the Pokéberry pie, and everything he liked about it, as well as the battle that Pikachu had just had.  Togepi was eating the Pokéberry pie as well, his face a bit dirty.  After a while, a hard, disgusted look appeared on Brock's face.  The others noticed.

"What's wrong, Brock?"

Without uttering a single word, Brock handed the newspaper to Kenji.  He skimmed over what Brock had read, and had an equal, yet more vehement, look upon his face.

"Come on, you two, what's wrong?"

Ash, figured it was more than likely nothing.  "It can't be bad, Todd, unless Team Rocket is somehow established again, and the ex-members go back to their old ways to get my Pikachu again."

":If they do, I'll shock them back to reality!:"

"There's no need, Pikachu," Ash laughed.  "I couldn't see any of them going back to that, so it probably doesn't have anything to do with Team Rocket."

"You're probably right, Ash.  They found every one of their headquarters here in our section of the world, and closed them down!"

"The article is from Viridian," Brock said coldly, staring out the window at the falling snow.

"What?"

"Ex Viridian Gym Leader escapes," Kenji read quietly to the others.

Staring at the Pokémon Artist, a look of fear and worry on her face, stood Misty, hearing what Kenji had just said.  "Does that mean he's coming to get me?" her voice slightly trembled…

I know, I know! Joya! (Sighs).  I couldn’t think of anything else that’s close to "Joy". If you can think up a better name, I’m all open for suggestions. I guess you’ve noticed all the Japanese words I’m using. Well, let me put it this way, if I know a word or a phrase in Japanese, more than likely I’m going to use it, or try anyway. As always, I appreciate feedback. My address is pikato8270 at aol .com or email me at SSJupiter at aol .com.
