I do not own any of these characters, places that you would see in the Pokémon world, and any Pokémon that sounds like something from G/S is highly coincidental! To be honest, the only Pokémon, that probably sounds like one is the "Michu" one, (it isn't, I checked). The others don't sound a thing like
'em. I guess I should’ve said that earlier, huh. And please, don't steal this. Stealing is bad, mmmkay. Now here’s Part 16 of this fic.

Ash/Duplica: 13
Misty/Todd: 14
Mondo: 16
Jen: 17
Joya/Kenji: 18
Brock/Jessie: 19
James/Butch/Cassidy: 20

Part 16: Meet the Shadow Sibs!

RP: Last chapter, Todd, who is now known as "The Chosen One" has managed to capture Ash, Brock, Joya, Jessie, James, Butch, and Cassidy. He had someone else capture Mondo, along with Cassidy's Raticate, Meowth, and James's Growlithe.  The two managed to do this by being very-well disguised as Jessie and James, due to a spell that was cast on them by Todd.  The three Shadow type creatures are also now ready to conquer the island at Giovanni’s command.  Will Kenji, Jen, and Duplica be able to stop them?

Ash Title: Meet the Shadow Sibs!

The entire building, where both Giovanni and the Professor were hiding out, seemed to shake abruptly.

"What was that!" Giovanni roared, losing his balance slightly.

"I am not certain, sir," the Professor said, running back into the room.  "Our cameras show that some type of beam of white light hit the building, but it is very fortunate that it did not hit you, sir."

"Yes, yes," he murmured distractedly.  "I wonder where it could have come from."

"I am sorry sir, but I honestly haven't the slightest idea as to where it could've come from."

"What if the four have discovered their powers, and are now out to get me!"

"But sir, how would they know to check the gym to find us?" the Professor queried, trying his best to calm his mentor with logic and reasoning.  "Our headquarters is underneath it.  Also, how would they know it is you?  Imité's niece never saw you, and more than likely, only saw me."

"I don't know," Giovanni seemed a bit shaken, "but we have to move fast.  Did you wire up the cages and move our prisoners into them?"

"Yes sir!  It has been done."

"Good.  We attack now!  Set them up to be transported at once!"

The Professor bowed.  "Hai, Sakaki-sama."  After this, he left the room.

"The ones, who are left, must have discovered their hidden powers."  He shook his head in discouragement.  "I knew I should have left earlier!"

Ash awoke with a groan, rubbing the back of his sore head.  Apparently, when tossed in, he had bumped it.  He wasn't too sure as to where he was and looked around.  He saw that he was in a cage, and a little ways from him, laid out on the floor unconscious were Brock and Joya.  Alarmed, Ash rushed over to the two, shaking them tenderly, in hopes of waking them, but they were both out cold.

Ash decided that his Pokémon could help him out of this predicament, somehow.  Realizing he couldn't use Bulbasaur - as he was probably still weak from battle - or Pikachu - since he remembered his encounter earlier - he decided on using his Charizard.  With Charizard's strength, he could maybe bend the bars, or either Fire Blast his way out.  He reached down towards his belt, realizing that it wasn't there.

Annoyed, he screamed at the top of his lungs, "Let me out of here, or else!!"

"It's no use, Ash," he heard a voice from his distant right say.  "They can't hear you, and they probably don't care, so stop screaming like a baby."

Ash looked towards the direction the voice had come from.  "Who said that?"  He saw that there was a cage there filled with other people.  "And I am not a baby!"

The person who had spoken ignored his statement, and stood there, his eyes closed, his arms crossed, and his voice confused.  "I don't know what's happening here."  He then muttered, "I came here to capture some new Pokémon, and this happens."

Ash got a better look at this boy, and finally recognized the voice and him in general.  "Gary?"

"Yeah, it's me," he replied simply.

Ignoring the rivalry between them, Ash showed concern for him.  "How did you get here?"

He sighed heavily.  "I don't remember much of anything."

Along with Gary were two girls, and a guy.  The two petite girls stepped up beside Gary, allowing Ash to get a better look at them.

"I battled you in the gym," the first girl wearing the white mid-driff, and blue skirt commented.

"So did I," the second girl with the stringy red hair chimed in.  "We both had some weird Pokémon when we battled you, but can't really explain it.  It was like someone was controlling us."

The guy who had been quiet up until this point, spoke up.  He was still wearing the cloak, but wasn't hooded anymore, nor was he hiding his face.

Ash recognized all three of them right off.  He looked to the first girl.  "You seem familiar to me, and so does your friend, the other girl."  He thought for a moment.  "Oh yeah!  Marissa-neesan!"

"Yes, I am Jintsuu Marissa, and this is my best friend Kakira Cassandra.  I call her Cass."

"Do you two remember me?"

"You do look a bit familiar," Cassandra started.

"We're still a bit disoriented."

"It's me!  Satoshi!"

Both girls remembered instantly, as stars formed in their eyes.  "Satoshi-kun!  He had that cutie, Kenji-kun, traveling around with him!"

"How is he anyway?" Cassandra asked.  "I forgot to get his e-mail address!"

"I never got his mobile phone number before we parted ways," Marissa nearly cried.

Ash rolled his eyes in disbelief.  'Oh brother, they sound like female versions of Brock.  We're prisoners, and they're worried about getting a guy's phone number.'

"I didn't either!"

"Where is he now?" Cassandra demanded.

"I think he might be taken?"  Ash wasn't sure how to phrase it.  Sure Kenji and Jen seemed close, but it really wasn't his place to say the two were an official couple.

"Oh, but how about Takeshi-kun!" Marissa squealed.

"He was a cutie too!"

Ash pointed behind him.  "You mean that Takeshi?"  The two looked over towards where Ash had pointed, to see Brock laid out, a girl by his side.  "I think he might be taken too.  He was spending the day with the girl lying next to him," he replied in a bored voice.

The guy Ash had noticed earlier looked to be about 18.  Since his hair wasn't hidden from the hood of his cloak, he could see it quite clearly.  His hair was quite long, and a dark blue-violet color, tied back into a single ponytail.  He was quite buff looking, like he worked out, and the only reason he kept the cloak on, was to keep himself warm.

"I'm sorry I hurt your Bulbasaur and your Pikachu," he apologized, his arms crossed.  This guy was - to Ash anyway - the definition of cool.  "I wasn't quite myself."

"Oh, that's okay, um…"

"Bakurri Damion desu," he introduced himself.

"Pleased to meet you, Bakurri-san."  He thought for a moment.  "So you were the one that had those strange Pokémon by the names of Michu and Zugeng?"

"Yeah," he nodded.

"All I want to know is how we get out of here, and how we got here to begin with," Cassandra complained.

"I'll think of something," Ash told them confidently, 'I hope…'

Ash heard a small, soothing moan come from behind him.  It belonged to that of Joya, who was beginning to stir, as was Brock.  Ash rushed over and helped Joya up.  Brock tried to sit up on his own, but screamed as a pain shot up his back, his ears ringing slightly, and the back of his head achy.

Joya's memory of the earlier, traumatizing events flooded her mind as she kneeled down beside the Pokémon Breeder.  "Don't move at all!" she instructed seriously.  Brock obeyed, his teeth grit.  "Hmm, wiggle your toes."  He did so quite easily.  Joya looked relieved.  "Thank goodness."

"What, what is it?" Ash asked.

"He can still move his lower body, it seems, which means there is no spinal injury, but…I do feel that his back could possibly be broken, so it's important for you to not move.  Satoshi-kun, could you help me remove his coat, and turn him onto his side, so that I can be sure?"

Ash nodded, and helped Joya to remove his coat, and to turn Brock onto his right side in the proper way, of course.  She studied his back, and frowned.  His back was broken, but was also hoping beyond hope that he wasn't having any internal bleeding.  She then looked at the back of his head, which was bloody and bruised.  Ash stared on, wondering what could've happened to his friend.

"Well, just as I suspected, your back is broken, and you may have suffered a minor concussion.  With this damage, you're lucky to be awake at all."  She didn't want to deliver the true reality of how he could have possibly died from such an injury.  "You're also lucky that you have no neck injuries.  We need to bandage up your head, though, until we can get you to a hospital, and for your back, you need something to support it."

Ash could keep quiet no longer as Joya gave him the okay to lay Brock back down on his back.  "How exactly did this happen?"

Before Joya could calmly explain what occurred, Brock beat her to the punch.  He was angrier than Ash had ever seen.  "I'm going to snap that artist's neck in half with that head band of his if I ever see him again!  No, no, that would be too good for him!" he fumed dementedly.  Fire seemed to surround him, and flames seemed to form in his narrow eyes.  "I'll let Onix crush him like the little bug he is, then I'll have Geodude use Seismic Toss on him!  Let's see how he likes it!   No…no, that isn't enough!"  Brock was now snarling.  "I know what I'll do…"

Joya's look was a bit estranged, hearing such violent threats.

"…and then after that, Zubat can use Leech Life, while Vulpix uses her Flamethrower.  No, I'll teach her how to use Fire Blast!  They'll have to keep the police to keep me from strangling him!"

From the other cage over, Gary and the two girls sweat dropped at the scene.  "That guy has some serious problems," Gary replied.

"I'm glad we're over here," Marissa said.

"You said it," Cassandra nodded.  "So, do you still want to go out with him?"

"Um, no...you can have him."

"No, thanks."

Damion, who was still calm, cool, and collected, replied, "He's just angry and venting.  I'm sure he'll calm down as soon as he's done with his rant."

Joya, at this point, was literally growing scared of Brock's rage.  She stood and backed away from him, literally hiding behind Ash, holding on to him.  "You don't mean that.  Please, say that you don't," she shook.

Ash was just as scared, but was trying his best to not let it show, holding onto her slightly due to it; but, since Brock currently had all of the attention, no one really noticed.  "Don't worry, Joya-neesan, he's not like this at all.  He's the nicest person there is, and he would never purposely hurt anybody."  Ash stared at the seething Brock.  'I hope he wouldn't…'

"G-good."  She let go of Ash.

"I've never seen him this angry before, I just hope he calms down soon."

"Oh, this is just awful," Joya nearly cried.

"Are you telling me that Kenji did this?" Ash asked, recalling what Brock had said earlier.  'Could he have used those strange powers of his to hurt Brock?  If he did, why would he?  He's our friend…or is he?  Could he be just like that Professor that has Mewtwo?  Could he be possessed like Duplica's uncle and cousin?'

Joya shook her head.  Brock noticed.  "What do you mean 'no'!  You were there!  You saw him raise me into the air, and slam me into the concrete ground below!  Please, don't tell me he got to you, too."

She quietly explained the events that had taken place (since Brock had finally calmed down), and how the one to do so was Todd.  "I don't know why he would do such a thing, or how he made himself look like Kenji-san."  Brock tried to get up, which caused Joya to shout at him, "Don't try to move!"  He obeyed, and remained lying uncomfortably on his back.

A look of confusion reached the way of the breeder's face, realizing all Joya had said.  "Are you saying that it was actually Todd who did this to me?"  She nodded sadly at the realization of Todd's harming him to such an extent.  "It's a good thing I didn't meet up with Kenji.  I would've had to apologize for probably beating him senseless."

"You are in no condition to fight anyone," Joya told him gravely as she began looking around the cage.

"Why would Todd do this to me, though?"

"From what she said, I think he might be possessed like Duplica's uncle and cousin were."

Joya, who had been a busy body for the past few moments, finally found what she was looking for; in the back of the cage, were a few wooden boards.  It was quite obvious that this cage had been used for storing carpenter supplies at one point.  She began to drag one of the boards back.  Ash leapt up to help her.  "Thank you," she told him.

The young girl then took off her heavy coat, and ripped the lining out of it.  Everyone stared curiously at her as she worked away.  "Satoshi-kun, I need your help again."

"What are you doing, Joya-neesan?"

"This board here, I'm going to use it to help support his back."

"But why did you rip your coat?  Won't you get cold?"

She brushed him off.  "Don't worry about that.  I'm going to use the cloth to help keep the board in place.  I can always buy another coat."  It took a bit of effort, but the two managed to lay Brock down on the board, while Joya tied it in place.  She then looked down at the long-sleeve of her cotton shirt, knowing what she had to do.  Brock needed to be bandaged up badly.  She pulled and ripped her right sleeve off.  "If I only had some better supplies," she murmured, going through her coat's pocket, pulling out a small, brown bottle.

"What's that?"

"Iodine," she stated simply, as she poured the yellowish liquid onto the ripped sleeve.  Ash didn't bother asking why she had a bottle of iodine with her.  She wrapped the cloth around Brock's head, covering up the bruised area.  "Give me his coat." Ash handed it to her, who draped it over Brock's torso, to help keep him warm.  "You can't fall asleep," she told Brock gently while cradling his head, her eyes watering some.

"Joya, I'm sorry for my outburst," he apologized heartily.

She sniffed, and smiled weakly to him.  "That's okay.  You were upset, and according to Satoshi-kun, you're not really violent or dangerous."

"I wouldn't hurt a fly, honest!"

"I know," a couple of tears finally escaped her bright blue eyes, "I know."

"If that brat ever shows his face again, I'll wring his scrawny neck with that camera of his!" Ash heard someone coming from his left rant.  "Forget the camera, my hands will do nicely!"

Ash, who hadn’t really taken notice to the cage to his left, stared over at it.  Due to the commotion, he hadn't bothered.  He identified the voice at once.  It was Jessie.  He also noticed Meowth, Mondo, Butch, and Cassidy were with her.  Laid out on the ground was James, who was out like a light.  "What's wrong with James?"

Jessie stood, and paced around the spacious cage, fuming.  "I'll kill that camera twerp for what he did to me!  He tricked me!  Nobody makes a fool out of me, and because of him, James is still out!  I'll make him pay for what he did to James and my Arbok!  I'll beat those ignoramuses for paralyzing my Lickitung!"

The ex-Rocket had fire forming in her eyes, and it was beginning to surround her.  She even seemed to practically breathe fire.

Ash sweat dropped.  'She's scary, even though Brock was scarier.  I'm used of Jessie being this scary.'

"Just calm down.  We'll get out of here," Mondo told Jessie assuredly.

Jessie stopped pacing, and got in the face of the younger ex-Rocket, and pointed to the motionless James.  "Look at what they did to James!" she shouted at him hotly.  "How can you tell me to 'calm down'!"  No longer able to hold back her emotions, she knelt down beside James and began to cry.

'She's not…faking it,' Ash thought as he stared at Jessie, who was usually quite harsh when it came to showing her true feelings.  'She's actually upset.  I've never seen her upset enough to actually cry before.  I guess she's not as tough as she wants everyone to think she is.'

Cassidy sat down next to her, and gave Jessie a small hug, who continued to sob, too overwhelmed and upset to actually care who saw her.  "We'll find a way to help him, don't worry."

Jessie got out of Cassidy's grasp, and thanked her.  She then wiped her tears with the back of her sleeve, turning to the youngest member of their group.  "I-I'm sorry for yelling at you, Mondo."

"That's okay," the boy responded brightly, "I understand.  You're just upset."

"We have to get out of here," Brock grunted in pain.  He was trying his best not to move like Joya had instructed, but it was difficult.

"Careful, Takeshi-san."  She took her coat, and folded it over, placing it under his head so that he could rest his head for a bit more comfort.

"Ash, how did you end up here?"

"Well, Todd kind of caught me and, um, fooled me by having a girl look like Misty," he answered, his face a bit red, embarrassed over having to share such a thing.

"So he used a decoy with you, just like he did with Takeshi-san and me.  He is one duplicitous boy."

Ash looked at Joya in stupidity.  "What does that mean?"

"It means sneaky, or devious," Brock defined.

"Oh."  Ash sighed.  "I feel deceived for being tricked into kissing another girl!"

"Well, look on the bright side."

"What bright side?" Ash asked Joya curiously.

"He could've been the one to disguise himself as Kasumi-chan."

Ash fell over in disbelief over such reasoning.  That was the bright side?  He picked himself back up, shuddering at the thought.  "That's not right!  What I was doing with the fake Misty…if that would've been Todd…yuck…ick…would need to seek out psychiatric help…"

"Well, it's true."

Ash really wanted off this subject, and randomly said, "I bet Todd was angrier at me, than he was with any of you."

"Why do you say that?" Mondo asked.

"It all started back in Viridian…"

"What about Viridian City?"
Butch asked.

"Like I was saying, this all started back in Viridian.  Remember when we all ran into him, and how he saved us from Butch and Cassidy?"

"Yeah," Brock replied simply.

"Well, he said that he was on his way there to get photos of the gym leader's Pokémon, but he was really on his way to see Misty.  She had been writing to him, and mentioned how we were on our way there.  Doesn't that seem a bit strange, though?  I didn't think anything of it then, but realized how out of the ordinary that was now.  I also caught on to this after something Misty mentioned earlier when he took that photo of Duplica with her Ditto."

"What do you mean?"

"He usually only takes photos of Pokémon in their natural habitats, not for things like gym battles."

"I still don't see too much wrong with that.  Maybe he just wanted to try something different, or maybe he was assigned to go to the gym there to snap photos of the gym leader's Pokémon.  That still doesn't explain why you think he took it out the most on you!"  Brock's tone grew slightly bitter.  "You're not the one walking around with a broken back, and a massive headache!"

"He wasn't there to get photos of Pokémon, Brock!  He was there to see Misty!" Ash shot back in annoyance.  He then quietly replied, "Kare wa kanojo ni koi o shite ita…"

Brock looked astounded, hearing such information.  "What?"

"He must have never gotten over her."

"Are you serious?  Todd really had feelings for Misty, and was planning on pursuing her when on the way to Viridian."  Ash nodded.  "What stopped him?"

"Me.  I made the moves first, even though I wasn't planning on it.  I went to see her when she was sick, remember?  I think I made up some bad excuse about going to get a drink, but snuck off to see her.  I ended up confessing everything right then and there, even though I was nervous."  Brock didn't say anything.  "Even the Pokémon he gave wasn't originally for me, it was for Misty, but decided that it should be both of ours."

"I remember," Brock's look was blank, "but you were still lucky that Todd didn't break anything on you."

"True, but he would have if he had the chance.  He told me that he would've killed me, but his 'master' wanted me alive.  I overheard this 'master' guy talking, and said he was going to take care of me personally."

"That's ironic," Ash heard Cassidy say.  "When he managed to get Butch and me, he brought up that he was getting revenge for our trying to kill him, and that was a long time ago when we were still a part of Team Rocket."

Butch, who was leaning against the cage's wall, proposed, "Maybe he's just going after everyone he has - or has had - a grudge against and all of us were a part of Team Rocket."

"If that were the case," Joya began, trying to keep her self from going hysterical over this situation, "what would he have against me?  I just met him.  From the story he just told, he seems to have some sort of jealousy towards Satoshi-kun, and wants revenge on the ex Rocket Gang members."

"I'm not too sure, because he kept talking about some type of a 'master' that wanted to see me," Ash said.  He looked back towards the other cage, taking notice of something.  "Hey, Gary, who are those other two people with you?"

"I don't know them."

There were two more people in the cell (unconscious) with Gary, Cassandra, Marissa, and Damion.  One of them looked to be a somewhat big guy in his early 50s, and beside him, a young girl in her early 20s or late teens.  Joya, who hadn't taken notice before, gasped.  "Imité-shichou, Laura-san!" she identified immediately.  "What's happened to them?"

"We'll figure this out as soon as we get out of here."

"How?" Brock asked, loads of skepticism in his voice.  "We are in cages, if you haven't noticed."

"Easy!  Watch, I'm pretty skinny, so I'm sure I can get all of us out of here.  Maybe I could…"

"Ash, don't---" Gary warned, catching on to what the boy was about to do.

Ash started to squeeze him self through the bars, but the entire cage got an electric shock.  Both Joya and Brock screamed in pain, especially poor Brock who had already suffered injuries.  Ash fell over, dark and fried.

Gary shook his head.  "---try to squeeze through the bars."

"The cages are wired.  I'm guessing it's either wired to fire, electricity, or both.  Ours is fire, yours is electricity, obviously, so maybe Team Rocket's is both."

"Now you tell me!"

"Nobody knows we're here," Meowth uttered depressingly.  "Dhey wouldn't think to come and look for us."

"But where is here?" Butch asked.

"I couldn't tell, since Todd was controlling my body and said that if I looked up, or struggled against his Kinesis, that he'd snap my neck, but I do have this feeling that I've been here before."

"We're doomed," Brock muttered hopelessly, and irritably.

"Let's not forget about Jen, Kenji, and Duplica.  They can rescue us!"

"Yeah, sure," Butch answered sarcastically.  "How can they, with the demon kid and all those strange Pokémon running around?"

"You'd be surprised."

Everyone looked to Ash, curious as to what he meant, but before he could explain himself, all three cages were shocked with electricity.  The level was so high and unbearable (but not too high to kill them) that it caused all of them to pass out.  The cages were then transported…

Back at the park….

"I think we've been out here long enough," Duplica told Kenji and Jen.  "We should probably head back home to Misty and the others."

The two older teens agreed, and made their way back home.  During the walk, they could see the sky growing black in the distance.  Other inhabitants of the island saw this as a bad omen, and seemed to hurry into their homes.

"Something's not right," Duplica muttered.

The three decided to try and find the source of the darkness in the sky, all agreeing to check on Misty later.  A while later they stopped in front of the gym.  On the way, there was a lot of commotion going on.  Outdoor vendors were pushing their carts away, while shop owners closed up, and others hurried home.

"What is that?" Jen asked.  "It looks like a storm is coming."

"I've never seen clouds like this before, and I would know since I've traveled a lot.  These don't really look like storm clouds, as they're pretty fluffy, only grey.  They're neither cumulonimbus nor cumulus."

Jen looked at Kenji, quite confused.  "What?"

The lights suddenly go out, and a spotlight shines down on Kenji.  He is standing at the front of a classroom (Jen and Duplica seated in front-row desks) holding a pointer, and a screen pulled down, with a projector going.  He is also wearing a lab-coat, a pair of thin-rimmed glasses, and a cap, like he's a know-it-all professor.

"Visuals help when explaining these types of things."

The first slide shows the sky with a few scattered clouds.  Kenji took the pointer, and pointed to them.

"Fair weather cumulus clouds have the appearance of floating cotton, and have a lifetime of maybe five to forty minutes."

He changed the slide, which was showing the outline of a cloud.

"Known for their flat bases and distinct outlines, fair weather cumulus clouds exhibit only slight vertical growth, with the cloud tops designating the limit of the rising air."

The next slide showed "fair weather cumulus clouds.  "Given suitable conditions, however, harmless fair weather cumulus clouds can later develop into," the slide changed to show towering type clouds, "towering cumulonimbus clouds, which are normally associated with," it changed once again, to show a cloud with a bolt of lightening coming from it, "powerful thunderstorms."

The next slide showed a diagram, Kenji pointed to each part of it as he explained it.  "Now, fair weather cumulus clouds are fueled by buoyant bubbles of air, or the proper term, thermals, rise upward from the earth's surface.  As they rise, the water vapor within them cools and condenses, forming cloud droplets."

The slide changed again to show another type of cloud that Jen and Duplica had no interest in learning about.  "Young, fair cumulus clouds have sharply defined edges and bases while the edges of older clouds are more ragged, which you can call…hmm…an artifact of cloud erosion.  Evaporation along the cloud edges cools the surrounding air, making it heavier, and producing a sinking motion outside of the cloud."  The next slide showed a cloud with rain coming from it.  "When it gets completely saturated, it releases it, causing the rain, or 'precipitation,' that you see."

The projector shut itself off, and the lights came back on.  Both Jen and Duplica stared at Kenji, dumbfounded, requesting, "In terms we can understand, please."

"I just did," he answered in a smart-allecky manner, quite confident; a bit too confident to Duplica and Jen's liking.  The two rose from their seats, and took out two extra large mallets.  Kenji cowered fearfully.  "You wouldn't hit a guy," he pointed to his eyes, "with glasses, would you?"

"He's got us there," Duplica mumbled.

"But he really deserves to get hit for what he just said."
Kenji: RP, what about my not getting hit rule!

Duplica: Not getting hit rule?  What's he talking about?

Jen: (Shrugs) I have no idea.

Misty then walks in and hands a copy of the contract she had earlier to Duplica and Jen who reads them.

Misty: This'll explain everything. Kenji is favored by the author, which means he doesn't get hit.

They read over the contract.

Duplica: We'll be punished if we hit him or Todd?!

Jen: Um, this is some interesting stuff here.

Misty then leaves.

RP: This was so pointless, don't you think? (Sticks out tongue)
"Okay, we won't hit you," Jen began, "but---"

"What does that mean in our language!" both girls shouted at him.

Kenji sweat dropped as everything goes back to normal.  "I'm sorry.  I just like science, so sue me; although, the fact that we have powers defies all aspects of science…" - he noticed the discontented looks the two were giving him - "I mean, those don't look like normal storm clouds.  They're almost unnatural."

"I never have either," Duplica concurred.  "They seem to be forming in just one spot, over the gym."

"Storm clouds don't form like that either.  They don't form in just one spot, which I explained earlier."

"Guys, look!"  Jen pointed to the entrance of the gym.  A man was rising from the ground.

"Hello, children," the man greeted.

Kenji gaped at this man, his face twisting up in indescribable anger.  "Giovanni?"

"Who is he?" both Jen and Duplica asked.

"That man," Kenji fumed, "killed Misty's parents along with my Growlithe!  He was also once the leader of Team Rocket and used to run the Viridian City Gym."

"So, you've heard of me."  He shined his nails, staring over at the now irate Kenji.  "I'm so flattered."

The usual calm, non-confrontational boy was too annoyed and angry to remain polite.  "I'll flatten your face for what you did to Misty, Growlithe, and for how you made me feel after you harmed him!  I still have nightmares about it!!"

"Aww, the wittle boy is upset about his wittle dead doggy," Giovanni mocked.  "Do you need your mummy?"

Kenji cursed at Giovanni, and then raised his arm.  He didn't know what he was going to do, nor did he care; he just wanted to hurt him in some way.  A white beam shot out from his hand, but instead of it hitting Giovanni, it went right through him, hitting the door of the gym.

"What the---"

Giovanni, Persia alongside him faithfully, walked through the front door, and stood beside himself, laughing villainously.  "Always send out holograms or decoys first.  You never know what to expect from the locals," he advised.  "Who would've thought that he of all people would posses such a power?  I should've had you captured right away, but I felt no need to bother doing so."

"How did you manage to get away!" Kenji demanded; his teeth clenched.

He didn't answer, as his attention was now elsewhere.  Coming down from the dark cloud in the sky were three shadowy creatures, whom of which floated down next to the real Giovanni, the hologram now vanishing.  Kenji, and the other two, stared at these strange looking beings, trying to figure out what they were exactly.

The bodies of these three were human-like, about the size of your average human.  Their eyes were ferociously red, all three had incredibly razor-sharp looking yellow teeth.  The first creature's hair was short and spiky, the color indistinguishable.  The third creature was pretty much the same as the first.  As for the second one, its hair was long and came down to its waist, but since they were all one-color, its hair too was indistinguishable.  If these creatures were wearing clothing, one wouldn't have been able to tell it, due to the color.

"You shouldn't talk to him that way!" the first creature snarled at Kenji.

"Yes, you should show him more respect, you impudent bug!  We're going to take over this place." the third creature scowled.  'After we get rid of our master, we'll take over. He's the reason we lost before.'

The second of the creatures had its hands on its hips, and looked to be winking playfully.  "You better believe it!"

"What are those things?" Jen blinked, not knowing what to make of them.

Giovanni smirked in response.  "I would like for you three to meet some friends of mine."

"Hello there," the first one answered in an estranged voice.  "I am Tenzu, the leader of us."

"Just because you're the oldest," the second creature snapped, "does not mean that you're our leader!"

"It is official that I am, so quiet down!"

"Ignore him," the second creature said, its high, shrilly voice equally disturbing sounding.  "I am Rinazu, second in command, and the cute one out of the three of us!"  Rinazu tossed some of its long, scraggily hair over its shoulder.

The third creature seemed to roll its eyes in disgust.  "That's our sister for you.  Rinazu insists that she's the cutest girl to ever wander around in the underworld."

Tenzu sighed, also rolling his eyes.  "It is probably because she is the only girl amongst us."

"Hey, you know it's true!" Rinazu whined.

Ignoring his sister, the third creature introduced himself.  "I am Shinzu, and we are here to make your lives a living hell!"

"We're back, and ready to get our revenge," Rinazu said, staring at the three hungrily.

"It is time to send Junsa, Juudai, and Hoshi to a realm of endless pain and torture," Shinzu spat, "like they did with us!"

Tenzu nodded, agreeing whole-heartedly.  "The fiery depths of hell would work for them, as it would be a vacation for us, but pure torment for them."

Duplica looked over at Kenji and Jen, who also looked to be at a loss for words.  She then murmured, "I don't like the looks of this."

'I thought my encountering strange creatures were over when I moved here.  I guess I was wrong about that.  I really wish Mako-chan, Usagi-chan, and the rest of their friends were here.  They could help us fight off these-these…whatever these things are.'

"So they are finally here, sir," a man laughed lightly, stepping up beside Giovanni.

Kenji's jaw dropped in disbelief, he couldn't believe it…he didn't want to believe.  He couldn't fathom it.  "It-it can't be!  No, it can't!  Masaki-sensei!"

"Masaki?" both Jen and Duplica questioned.

Kenji ignored the two, staring right at the "professor".  "Masaki-sensei, please tell me this isn't true!  Tell me that you are not working with…with…him!"

"I had a feeling you'd say something like that, Kenji-kun."  He then laughed at the expression on Kenji's face.  "You're so stupid!  I'm surprised you never caught on that I always had some connection to Team Rocket, especially after all was revealed weeks ago.  I have one big clue of this in my home."

"But you said that you were on vacation, researching some new type of Pokémon."  He thought for a moment, realizing what he had just said.  "Mewtwo!  The clue in your house was…a Mewtwo!  I always questioned you about it.  How would you have a picture of an undiscovered Pokémon unless you were connected to it in some way?  Since Mewtwo was literally created, then that means…"

"…I helped to create him!"

"But why?  Why are you working for him?  He's a cold-hearted killer!"

He gave Kenji an icy stare, and his voice was quite emotionless.  "Who says that I'm not?"

"But---"

"Who do you think helped me to kill that redhead's parents!"

"Masaki-sensei…no…how could you be responsible for such a thing!"  He thought for a moment.  "You must be a lot older than you look if you helped him do such a repulsive thing."

"I'm not.  It's not like I was actually there."

"I don't underst---"

"He is my heir," Giovanni interrupted.  "I've always taken care of him, and when I disposed of those worthless Cerulean City gym leaders, he was only a young adult.  The death of those gym leaders was a mistake."  He turned to the professor.  "You know, you should've read your information more carefully.  You mixed up Cerulean with Celadon."

"What's another life," he replied, no remorse in his voice at all.  "You got what you needed.  When the youngest daughter of the Hanada gym leaders visited me with her friends, Satoshi and Takeshi, I didn't know it was her at the time.  Sir, thinking back to that incident, there was a very rare Pokémon I had been communicating with for the longest time.  It finally appeared to me, and I, of course, was planning to capture it, but those moronic members of yours scared it off!"

"Jessie, James, and Meowth, right?"

"Yes, sir.  I didn't recognize them until after they'd left.  I didn't even know that they were there.  My cameras around my lighthouse showed three figures shooting the strange Pokémon I saw.  When I zoomed in, I made them out instantaneously."

Giovanni only nodded, and began to mutter something, and looked to be concentrating.  By doing this, a bunch of strange looking Pokémon began to emerge from different spots around the gym.  "All Shadow Pokémon, come forth and meet your new master!"

"These Pokémon, I've never seen them before, but they still seem a bit familiar," Duplica uttered.

"I can't believe what's happening, but we won't let either of them get away with this!"

Kenji and Duplica nodded.  "Right!"

"How about you three showing those three down there what it's like to be killed," Giovanni laughed.  The winds began to rise, as a dark light engulfed him as he began to cackle evilly.  His hair was now growing longer, his body younger and stronger.  The shabby clothes he'd been wearing earlier were now replaced with a long, brown robe, with small designs going across the collar.  "Waruii is back!  One of the greatest sorcerers to ever live has returned!"

"Come, my brother and sister, we have a job to do!" Tenzu ordered.  He then eyed Waruii, trying to resist the urge to slash his throat right then and there.  'You're next.'

"Right behind you!" Shinzu nodded.

"Time to get rid of the kids!" Rinazu chanted.

"Professor, gather as many of these Pokémon as you possibly can!" Waruii instructed.

"Yes, Sakaki-samer, I mean, Waruii-sama."

"No, wait," he halted the young man in the brown suit.  "Let us see what these Pokémon can do."

"Yes, sir."

Waruii halted the three Shadow Siblings from attacking.  All three protested, but once again, he spoke in a language which Kenji, Duplica, Jen or even Masaki could not understand or process, causing the three to stop in their tracks.  Whatever he had said made them obey.

"My Shadow Pokémon," Waruii chuckled lightly, "attack the three standing there, now!"

The strange Pokémon that had emerged earlier now looked at the three, making their ways towards them…

Author Notes
Sakaki - This is Giovanni's original name.  The phrase, "Hai Sakaki-sama," pretty much translates to "Yes, Sakaki (Giovanni)."  I used the -sama honorific to show how much respect and admiration the "Professor" has for Giovanni.

Kare wa kanojo ni koi o shite ita - This translates to, "He was in love with her."

Imité-shichou - This pretty much means Mayor Imité.  Well, that's what I was trying to write out, anyway.

Masaki - The Professor has finally been revealed, but I decided to use his original name as opposed to his English dub one.  I wanted you all to guess as to who this guy was on your owns with the clues given, and I'm sure you all figured out that Masaki is Bill's original name.  To be completely honest, I never really cared for his character much; anyone who can't identify a simple Pokémon (only it's in a bigger form) who's a professional gets docked points in my book.  Oh, I also have a small theory about him.

If you all haven't noticed, all that was said about a Mewtwo being in his lighthouse is true.  How could he have a picture of a Pokémon in his lighthouse that wasn't discovered, but made, if he didn't have anything to do with it, or some connection to it?  I like the theory of his being undercover for Team Rocket.  Oh yeah, in the episode, The Exeggutor Squad, James wore an outfit similar to Bill's brown suit, so that would mean that Bill gets all of his wardrobe from Team Rocket!  (Gets weird looks/laughs bashfully).  Okay, I know that second theory is a bit farfetched, but it is something. lol

Extra Characters
Marissa Jintsuu - If you read my previous story, you’d know who she is. She met Kenji and Brock in the last story at Pikachu’s Party House; a night club in Viridian city. She traveled with Satoshi-tachi for a while.

Cassandra Kakira - She is also from my previous fic. She’s the girl who wanted to take up Pokémon Breeding. She’s the other girl Brock and Kenji met at the club they went to. She also traveled with Satoshi-tachi for a while.
