Today was another day for the four teenagers that had finally left home. They had just left New Bark Town, and were on their way to Violet City. They had stopped in at Cherrygrove to rest their new Pokemon. A male, looking to be about 16, 17 was scowling at his shoes. Dark chestnut brown hair was long and brushed gently against his chin. Colbalt blue eyes were startling against his creamy pale skin. Jhonny Mathers was in a foul mood—like usual. He waited outside of the Pokemon Center for his friends, the scowl never leaving his pale thin lips.

A Pokemon waited by his side—it was a Totodile. Like its owner, it seemed to be in a bad mood, hissing at a shadow of another trainer as it passed. Jhonny looked down at his Pokemon; named Hiss, appropriately; and sighed and scooped him up in his arms, not once saying a word.

Soon, maybe a minute later with two Pokemon, came a girl. Her rusty colored hair was tyed back in a loose ponytail, while her pale green eyes shimmered with happiness. Her own starter Pokemon, was a Chikorita, while a sleeping runty looking Rattata was curled up in the crook of her arm. Out of the four friends, she had been the first to catch the little rat.

”You seem rather…eager today, Riley.”

Came Jhonny’s voice as the redhead looked and saw her friend. Although the male was quiet, the small 15 year old was loud and had too much energy for her own good. The rat was still sleeping in her arm, but the Chikorita hopped down and swept through Jhonny’s legs in tight figure eights—by far very catlike and happy. Riley O'Halleran gave a low whistle and the Chikorita pranced over to her owner and sat at the redhead’s feet.

”I'm eager because we’re going to make it to Violet City tonight! If we face Falkner tonight, I’ll be so happy!”

Riley said, grinning at Jhonny. Her emotions were careless around her friends. But that didn’t stop her from being herself now did it? Riley reached over and tugged on Jhonny’s shirt, and Hiss gave off a quacking kind of hiss, leaning down to scratch at Riley’s arm. The Chikorita jumped up to attack Hiss with a tackle, but Jhonny pulled his Pokemon away, and Riley caught her Chikorita in one arm with a slight fumble.

”Cant your Pokemon just get along for once? The entire way they fought, and now they’re going to fight the rest of the way… right?”

Came a voice that pretty much told them that if they dont get their Pokemon to like one another, he was going to have to do it himself. That was the voice of Nick Shadows, another 16 year old that didnt care if they made it to Violet City or not in one night. It was a good walk there. Nick's starter was no where to be seen, but for future reference, its a Cydanquil. His choppy dark brown hair was brushed today, forced out of habit from lack of non-nagging mothers. Nick was more or less, an egotistical person, with his mind focusing on what he could do for himself next. Although he liked to hang with his friends and what not, this was by far, a bad trait in him.

"Oh, shut up Nick. Its not like you and Hiss get along either."

Riley said, sticking her tounge out at Nick, before he reached over and pinched her thin cheeks. Squealing Riley ducked her head and sorta hid behind Jhonny, who just stood away from the group again. They were all by far, great friends. Practically growing up ontop of each other, Riley and the two boys were never separated for long. When the door to the Pokemon Center opened again, a group of people walked out, and in that group was a timid looking girl who's Eeevee was curled around her shoulders. Like master like Pokemon, no? Ace Lafavier stood out amongst the crowd, her black hair hidden by a hood as she made her way towards the group of teens who were most likely, waiting on her. The Eevee lifted its head and purred to its master, and Ace lifted a hand to stroke behind those large ears of her Eeevee.

"You guys aren't fighting again are you?"

Ace asked. Her black and white striped hoodie was tight against her thin body, and her jeans hung from her sharp hips. Nick grinned and trotted over to her and slung an arm around her waist. Jhonny and Riley rolled their eyes, and the Pokemon began chatering and hissing while Nick attempted to make a move on Ace.

"Nah. They were fighting, but not me. Im too much of a good boy to do that."

Nick drawled, grinning lop-sidedly, before Ace pushed him away. Nick stumbled, and then frowned at Ace. She was the most mysterious one out of the entire group. Riley, Nick and Jhonny all grew up together, while Ace moved into New Bark Town just weeks before they were to get their Pokemon. Yes, most of the little ten year olds had already gotten their Pokemon, but the teens wanted Ace to go with them. Nick seemed to have a crush on her, and Riley got along with her like a sister. Jhonny didn't really talk much to Ace, but when he did they talked in low voices and talked for almost hours on end; they got along well.

"C'mon guys. If we want to get to Violet City by tonight we better start walking."

Came Jhonny's voice. Ace looked up, nodded, and began following the self-proclaimed leader of the group. Riley sighed and smiled down at the Rattata whom had just woken, and allowed her Chikorita to follow her on her way. Nick scowled, but the scowl left to be replaced with a grin. Ace was attractive, and Nick was totally crushing on her. Following Riley by a few steps, the male teenager smiled as he walked, beginning to hum a song he had learned when he was younger. Although he had forgotten most of the words by now, he was still humming it.

"Violet City here we come!"

Ace said toherself, as she walked beside Jhonny, looking up at him and smiling. Jhonny graced her with half a smile, and he soon looked back at the horizon. It was going to be a long walk, but with Ace here, it was going to be a great one.
