Chapter 2
The Nightmare

     “ Pikachu go get some more water!” ordered Brock as he cleaned up the 
cuts on Misty’s arm. Pikachu nodded and ran to get Brock’s container of 
water. Handing it to Brock he finished bandaging a cut and sighed. “ I’ve 
done all I can. We’re to far away from a town and the only thing we can 
now...is wait.” Brock said wiping the sweat from his forehead. Ash nodded 
and looked at Misty sadly. He walked up to Misty and bent down near her. 
Brock looked at Pikachu and nodded to the woods to let them be alone. 
Pikachu nodded and walked behind Brock.

   Misty was breathing but it was shallow. She looked pale and weak. Ash 
couldn’t hold back the tears that were falling. He gently gathered Misty in 
his arms and he held her tight to his chest. “ I’m sorry Misty. I should of 
gone with you. Please...forgive me.” Ash said as the tears rolled down his 
cheeks. “ Misty...please don’t leave me...I love you.” Ash whispered. Misty 
eyes began to shake and they slowly opened. “ Oh...where am I?...Ash?” 
Misty’s weak voice asked. Ash put her back down on the blankets and covered 
her up to keep her warm. “ It’s ok Misty, your safe. Psyduck led us to you 
and Brock stopped the bleeding. What happened to you?” Ash explained. “ I 
was picking up some sticks when I saw some red eyes and then all I remember 
was being attacked.” Misty said weakly. Ash looked shocked but then placed 
his hand on Misty’s face. “ I won’t let anything happen to you. I promise.” 
Ash said gently. Misty didn’t say anything but let tears falls down her 
face. Ash put a hand behind her neck and lowered his lips to her’s. Misty 
raised her hands onto Ash’s face and cupped his face.

   After they separated Misty began to feel weak and sleepy. “ I need to 
rest Ash.” Misty said before lowering her head on the pillow. Ash nodded and 
sat down. Soon Misty fell asleep and Ash got up to walk to his backpack. 
Then Brock and Pikachu appeared with some sticks. Reaching into his backpack 
Ash pulled out a bottle of water and drank some. “ Ash are you ok?” asked 
Brock putting down the sticks. “ Yeah. I just need some sleep.” Ash said 
yawning. Pulling his sleeping bag next to Misty Ash zipped it up and fell 
asleep. Pikachu curled up next to Ash and Brock fell asleep a few minuets 
after Pikachu.

   A few hours after the group fell asleep the wind began to blow, causing 
the fire to blow out. Then Misty began to toss and turn in her sleep. ( In 
her dream) Misty was surrounded by darkness. “ Where? Where am I?” Misty 
asked. “ The time has come.” a voice echoed. “ Who are you?” Misty asked 
beginning to get scared. “ The darkness will rule once again!” the voice 
screamed. “ Leave me alone! LEAVE ME ALONE! Ash help me!” cried Misty. A 
blood red pair of eyes appeared and covered Misty. Misty shot up and began 
breathing uncontrollably heavily. Beads, after beads of sweat ran down her 
face and she was shaking terribly. When she finally got settled down she 
fell back asleep and didn’t know that she was being watched.
