Chapter 3
Garden Ville

    The sun was rising when Misty awoke from her sleep. Rubbing her eyes she 
looked to her right and saw Ash sound asleep. He looked like a child while 
he slept and some strands of hair were covering his face. Misty gently moved 
her hand to his face and pushed away the strands. She tried to get up but a 
sharp pain in her leg forced her to fall back down to the rubber bed. “ 
Ouch!” Misty hissed through her teeth. Looking around she saw a stick and 
grabbed it. Forcing her weight on the stick she got up and hopped to her 
backpack. She was still in her clothes that were stained with blood in some 
spots. Grabbing her backpack she hopped to a log and pulled out a cloth and 
a bottle of water. Damping the cloth she began to clean off the blood from 
her clothes. Pikachu opened his eyes and saw Misty. Yawning Pikachu got up 
and walked toward Misty. “ Pika pikachu? Good morning Misty.” said Pikachu. 
Misty smiled and said in a whisper “ Good morning Pikachu.” “ Pika pikachu 
pi? Are you feeling ok?” asked Pikachu. “ I’m fine Pikachu. Really.” Misty 
said reassuringly. Pikachu nodded and went to wake Ash and Brock up. Brock 
opened his eyes and yawned. He forced himself out of the sleeping bag and 
stretched. “ Morning Brock.” said Misty smiling. Brock turned around and 
smiled. “ Hey! Hope your feeling better!” Brock said as he packed up his 
sleeping bag. “ Oh, I’m ok. I still am a little sore.” Misty said standing 
up. A sharp pain shot through her legs. “ Ouch! Make that very sore.” Misty 
said rubbing her legs. Brock looked over and tapped Ash’s head. “ Hey Ash, 
wake up.” Brock chanted. Ash opened his eyes and looked around. “ Morning 
Brock, Misty, Pikachu.” Ash said getting up. “ You might want to get dressed 
fast Ash. We need to get to a town. The things I did for Misty weren’t 
enough and her ankle is starting to swell.” Brock said as he brushed his 
hair. Ash looked down and saw Misty looking at her ankle.  It was a mixture 
of black and purple. Pulling on his jacket  he walked over and looked at the 
leg. “ We got to get you to a doctor but I don’t know where the nearest town 
is. Brock?” Ash asked. Brock picked up a map and looked on it. “ Well the 
nearest town is a place called Garden Ville but it’s four miles away. It 
would take us all day and Misty can’t walk on that thing or it will get 
worse.” Brock said importantly. “ I know!” said Ash pulling out a pokeball. 
“ Pidgeot I choose you!” called Ash. Pidgeot appeared and Ash said “ This is 
what we will do. Misty will ride on Pidgeot while Brock and me ride 
Charizard.” Everyone nodded and went into action.

      Ash called out Charizard and told him what to do. Brock climbed onto 
Charizard and waited for Ash. Ash walked over and pulled Misty in his arms. 
She rested her head on his chest and he pressed his forehead against her’s. 
“ Everything’s going to be alright. I promise.” Ash whispered before kissing 
her forehead. Misty didn’t answer then gave a simple nod. He carried her 
over to Pidgeot’s back and gently set her down.  After climbing onto 
Charizard’s back Ash said “ Pidgeot follow us!” Pidgeot nodded and got ready 
to take off. “ Which way Brock?” asked Ash. “ That way.” Brock pointed 
north. “ Ok Charizard, Pidgeot let’s go.” Ash said. When they were flying in 
the sky for about half a hour Ash looked ahead and saw nothing.  “ Come on 
where is it!” “ There!” yelled Brock pointing to the east.  There in the 
side of the mountain was a city and everyone smiled. “ There’s the hospital. 
Let’s go.” said Ash. Charizard and Pidgeot landed at the hospital, Ash and 
Brock got off Charizard. “ Good work Charizard.” said Ash rubbing his head. 
Charizard smiled and returned to it’s pokeball. Ash walked over to Misty, 
picked her up and set her down on a bench. “ Nice work Pidgeot.” Ash said 
before calling it back into his pokeball. Ash again picked Misty up and he 
and Brock walked into the hospital. Before they entered the door Ash caught 
a glimpse of a shadow. Turning his head he saw nothing., shrugged, and 
walked in the door. On the roof of the next door building a shadow stood. “ 
I will destroy you...if it is the last thing I do.”
