Rayne’s Story Chapter 4 By Salastoise "Go, Blizreon!" cried my trainer. Red light let me out of my prison. He hadn’t healed me since he caught me, so I didn’t attempt anything. He took out a Super potion. My ears perked up in hopefulness. He sprayed me, and within a couple of seconds, I staggered to my feet. "My name’s Josh, and I’ll be your trainer." You know, I wonder if there was any way to telepathically talk to him..it’s worth a try. "You…um…can’t control me," I struggled. Telepathically speaking was hard! Josh’s eyes widened in surprise. "You’re a telepath? And what do ya mean by I can’t control you?" "You don’t understand! You have to let me go! I’m not what you think I am!" Josh crossed his arms. "Why should I listen to you?" "I’m a human, you idiot!" "Prove it." "I..can’t." "Then you’re lying." "Team Rocket turned me into this a week ago after killing my parents, and kidnapping me! They’re going to take over the world! I have to stop them!"I cried in desparation. "Flareon, is she telling the truth?" he asked his pokemon. Flareon stepped toward me and asked, {Is this true or not, icy girl?} {Look, pal, my name is Rayne Cloud, my birthday is on July 14, and I..I am intelligent!} I cried in exasperated tones. Flareon squinted at me, then nodded to Josh. "She’s telling the truth?" "Then you’ll let me go?" I asked hopefully. "Naw, I gotta battle with you first, then I’ll think about it." "Nooo! You can’t do this! My friend is out there! I need to find him!" "Blizreon, return." "Noooo!" I cried as I was sucked inside the pokeball again. ***************************** Got..to…get…out…,Got…to…get…out, I chanted to myself as I pawed and scratched against the walls of my spherical prison. This was not fair at all! Josh is so thick! I have to get away! The pokeball opened. Yes! "Go, Blizreon!" shouted Josh. I materialized on a battlefield. Confused, I glanced around. Darn it, he let me out to battle! "What the heck is THAT?!" yelled a voice. "A pokemon. Duh," smirked Josh. The trainer on the opposite side of the field was female. Blond hair sat in golden pigtails on the sides of her head. She looked to be about 12 years old and wore a pair of cargo shorts, flipflops, and a black tank top. "Oh well, but I swear I’ll turn you in to Officer Jenny when I find out you cloned it," she yelled back. "Go Charmeleon!" She grabbed a pokeball from her pocket and threw it out. A red fire lizard materialized in front of me. Typical,I said to myself. "Flamethrower!" I nearly got cooked by a red hot fire stream, but luckily I dodged. "Wanna fight dirty, eh?" I said telepathically. The Charmeleon’s eyes widened in surprise. A love struck look appeared in his eyes several seconds later. {I know you’re an Ice type, but will you go out with me?} he asked. What a goofball. He got a ice beam in the mouth for that. With his mouth sealed shut, he was at a disadvantage, because he couldn’t breathe fire. I padded up to him and seized his tail in my mouth. "Not on your life, dirt bag!" I shot back as I rocketed him towards his trainer. She screamed and he stopped right in front of her. I grinned and used a psychic attack to make him orbit around her head. "You idiot! I’ll turn you in!" she sobbed as she ran to Lavander town, her Charmeleon still orbiting around her head. "Uh, nice," murmured Josh from behind me. I turned around. "Now will you let me go? You’ll get busted by the police if you don’t. Remember, I’m a mutant, so they’ll think you’re with Team Rocket; a genetics scientist taking me for a test run. That’s what they found in the Saffron base." "Oh gosh, you’re right! Okay, you can leave. I’d better break your pokeball," he exclaimed, proceeding to crack it on the ground. I wasted no time. Taking a running start, jumped and took to the air. Now the hard part: finding Chris, I thought as I hovered. I saw him thrown toards the Rock tunnel. I’ll bet that’s where he is. I went in the direction of the Pokemon Tower when I saw an unconscious pink blob on a rock. Oh my gosh! Jelly! I landed and ran to him. Checking his pulse, I wondered how long he’d been like this. Maybe an hour? Jelly groaned. He was badly hurt. Just like I had before, I would have to use recover on him. I gently placed a paw on his face and began repairing the damaged part of him: his head. He was slightly concussed from cracking his head on the rock, granite by the looks of it. I repaired his brain and mended the gash his impact had caused. That done, he groaned again, only this time, he woke up. {Ohh..WHAT THE?! RAYNE! YAY, YOU’RE OKAY!} Jelly sobbed, enveloping me in another one of his gushy hugs. {Hey, easy does it, partner,} I wheezed. {But you..I saw..and..how did you escape?} he asked, releasing me. {Long story,} I replied. {By the way, did you manage to see where Chris got thrown?} {I think I saw him heading for the Rock Tunnel.} {I knew it. Thanks for all your help, but I gotta go find him. Bye!} I called as I ran away. I was almost there when a person saw me, evidently a Hiker. Number one rule when going to the Rock Tunnel: expect to see Hikers.{Stupid, stupid mutant Eevee,}I muttered. Before he could say a blessed thing, I used Hypnosis on him.{Didn’t know I could do that,} I grinned as I searched on. I soon came to a pile of strewn rocks, and a smoking hole in the huge boulder beside it. {Chris?} I hopped into the hole and gasped. Chris was there, but he was in bad shape. He hadn’t been cushioned by Jelly, so his impact was worse. He unconsciously moaned. Hang on, little buddy, I thought as I placed my paw on his head. Using recover, I repaired his mangled body. Suddenly, his eyes popped open and he grabbed me around the neck. {Oh, it’s you!} he cried, hugging me. After letting me go, his eyes were blazing with anger. {I loathe Team Rocket! Next location they’re at, I’ll use flamethrower on the first one I see!} {Where to, Cap’n Chris?} I saluted, which is kinda hard, considering my body structure. {Mt. Moon,} he replied.{And this time, nobady’s blowing me halfway into a mountain.} End Chapter 4.
