    As our dynamic duo walked across the meadows adjacent to the Viridian gym, a purple light erupted from the ground and Mewtwo appeared.  Ash and Misty had the sense to immediately turn on their amplifiers so as to better communicate with the reclusive pokemon.
‘Mew told me I was being far too unfriendly to humans.  I objected and he pointed out that I hardly ever come to see you even though we are friends.’
‘We are?’ asked Ash.
‘I thought we were, I have come to ask forgiveness actually...for that whole replace everyone with clones thing.’
‘You have worked tirelessly to help pokemon, you have already redeemed yourself to us’ said Misty.
‘I also came to teach you two something.’
‘What is that?’ the other two both asked.
‘You have seen psychic trainers who can use various mystic abilities.  Haven’t you ever wondered why you yourselves have not gained this?’
‘M2 raises a point’ Misty Directed at Ash.
‘Alright, why haven’t we?’ Ash asked.
‘It takes a certain type of person to do each, unless one is so strong they can do all of the tricks.  I shall try to teach you two a couple.  First, the psi blast.  Those who wish to just get rid of their obstacles can do this.’  Mewtwos eyes glowed, he put out his hands and a large purple beam erupted from them.  It vaporized a nearby rock.  Misty and Ash emulated him with Misty managing a medium beam and Ash got sparks.
‘Next the psi garringer, for those who wish to incapacitate and finish the job.’  Mewtwo lifted a nearby boulder with his mind, thrust out a hand and small orbs of energy flashed out from it.  Both Ash and Misty managed to do the attack quite well.
‘Lastly, the pickup&dropoff, for those who wish to only incapacitate.’  Mewtwo levitated a nearby oddish and sent it flying into the distance.  ‘You might try directly up also, if you want what you are throwing to stay near the same place.’  Ash was the one to do superior work this time, levitating a tree and firing it to the next region where it landed on the newly awakened TR2.  Mewtwo had disappeared again and he wasn’t missed for a while, superpowers are fun.
