	Ash stared up into the black night sky, letting his eyes wander from 
one bright shinning star to the next.  Though his stare was so intently 
focused on the sky, his mind was not dwelling on it.  He went over past years 
in his head, the good times and the bad times. A peaceful smile crept over 
his face when his mind wandered to a certain person.

 "Hey Ash!" His long time friend, Brock, looked down on him, blocking his 
view of the stars and bringing him back to the real world, "You better get 
some sleep, we have a long hike ahead of us tomorrow!"

  "I know," Ash sighed and ran his gloved hand through his jet black hair.  
Though many years had passed since he departed Pallet Town for the first 
time, he had not changed that much. His hair still stuck out in unrulely 
locks and his chocolate brown eyes still held the same curiosity and spark it 
did when he was ten.

  " G'night," Brock grinned, kicking his friends shoulder playfully, "Get to 
sleep now, Im checking back in ten minutes."

  "Brock I love you like a brother, but you are kinda acting like my mom more 
than my friend," A mischievious smirk played across the twenty three year 
olds lips and he rolled over onto his stomach, "Goodnight mother."

  "Ok, well, I hope you dont expect breakfast tomorrow if you're going to be 
like that," He snorted playfully, digging his toes into Ash's ribs.

 "I take it baaaack!" He whined, lacing his fingers together and covering his 
head, "Ok ok Im sleeping Im sleeping!"

  "Hey whats going on?" Tracey yawned and poked his head out from under his 
sleeping bag, " Woah how early is it?"

 "Its not early yet," Ash corrected, " Brock is being motherly again."

 "Ash it's two in the morning," Brock interrupted, looking at his light up 
watch, "Everyone go back to sleep." Tired of arguing with him, and knowing he 
was going to get nowhere in the conversation, Ash crossed his arms and shut 
his eyes, drifting into a pleasant sleep.
