Allrighty, here comes part three! I really advise that you read parts 1 and 2 before you read this, or nothing will make sense. This’ll probably suck cos I have no idea what I’m gonna put, but whatever. I hope you like the other two parts, cos I think they’re the best AAMRN’s I‘ve ever written, but you’re entitled to your own opinion, of course. Remember, you can contact me to complain about my horrendous plotlines or whatever by e-mailing me at sarah.e.wilkinson@fsmail.net Now, on with the show! Started: 9/5/03 Finished: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Summer Camp Part Three Last time... Misty tugged at the t-shirt, wishing it was slightly longer. Sighing, she lifted the covers of Ash’s bed and lay down next to him. She fell asleep quickly, while Ash stayed awake, staring at her milky skin and her bright hair. Without thinking, he leaned over and kissed her gently on the cheek. He fell asleep soon after that, his dreams full of a certain redheaded angel. Butch, however saw Ash kiss Misty through the darkness, and vowed to himself that he would do his best to keep Misty to himself. Sunlight dawned on the world, bringing its welcoming glow to the occupiers of this land. Across the camp, people awoke, pulling on clothes or greeting other cabin members while still half asleep. The lake glistened in the sunlight, as if it were welcoming the glow. The trees rustled as a gentle early-morning breeze shifted the leaves. The glow slowly crept through a window and lit up a cabin which was used by four boys, each different in their ways. However, two girls were also using the wooden structure, each using a bed of one of the males. One with dark green hair was lying in a bed with a tanned, spiky haired boy, their arms wrapped around one another. The other had fiery red hair and milky skin, and was sharing the bed of a boy with an elfish face and messy black hair. These two were not locked in any form of embrace, however. Mumbling incoherently, the messy-haired boy stirred and opened his eyes. His gaze immediately focused on the redhead lying on the bed with him. Going redder than one would seem imaginable; he inched away to the other side of the bed, as if there was something repulsive about the girl. Inside the boy’s head, however, was the exact opposite. ‘She looks like angel...I wish I was going out with her instead of that jerk Butch! Why can’t I just tell her?’ he moaned inwardly ‘You’re such an idiot, Ash Ketchum! You can’t control your blood pressure, let alone tell a girl you like that you want to go out with her. You love her so much, it’s not even funny!’ Ash shook his head in self-discrimination and tried to get out of bed without disturbing the girl that lay next to him. The girl opened one cerulean eye and watched as Ash tried to clamber out of bed without disturbing her. She giggled silently until he yelled and fell off the bed, hitting his head on the wooden floor. The other occupants’ eyes flicked open at Ash’s cry and watched him groan in pain, as they were still too tired to react. Misty however, jumped off the bed and landed at his side. “Ash? Ash? Are you okay? Say something!” Butch glared at Ash’s form as he received more attention from Misty than he did. Ash groaned and moved his head, causing shoots of pain to splinter across his skull. Misty rested his head on her lap and reached over to grab a pair of unused socks that Gary had left by his bed, and wrap them around his head. Despite the drama of the situation, they all giggled at how funny Ash looked with a pair of socks round his head. Even Ash himself managed a weak chuckle. Misty smiled. “Nice to see you’re still with us. Can you move your head?” Ash slowly sat up and felt the back of his head, which was sticky. “Oh no! You’re bleeding! Quick, does anyone have a First Aid kit?” Brock unwound his arms from around Duplica and fished a green box out of his nearby suitcase. He opened it and threw a few plasters to Misty, who caught them and unpeeled one. “Okay...sit still and I’ll put this on...” Ash stayed as still as stone when he felt Misty’s breath on the back of his neck. He also felt something be attached to his neck where it stung. “All better!” announced Misty cheerfully, sitting back and smiling at Ash. He smiled back and noticed that the pain had receded a little. Butch got out of bed and put his arm around Misty. “Good morning sweetheart!” he said, hugging her. Misty returned the embrace. “Hi there, sleepyhead.” Duplica got out of Brock’s bed and picked up her clothes. “Come on Misty, Whitney and Cassidy are probably awake by now.” Misty nodded, gently untangled herself from Butch’s arms, picked up her clothes and followed Duplica out the door. Ash watched Misty go out of the corner of his eye, so Butch wouldn’t see. Gary and Brock had got out of bed and began to get changed. Butch shot a smirk at Ash and started to look for clothes to wear that day. Ash rubbed the plaster on the back of his head and, shrugging, reached over to grab a pair of khaki trousers than finished just past his knees, and a dark blue t- shirt with the words “I’m too crazy for this t-shirt!” “Whitney! Cassidy! Answer this door before I get Ditto to turn into a sledgehammer and smash it to smithereens!” Duplica bellowed, thumping on the door like there was no tomorrow. Whitney suddenly opened the door and Duplica almost fell over as she was in the position of hammering on the door. “Thank God! I was so worried!” Whitney cried, hugging Misty and Duplica so hard that their oxygen supply got cut off. “Breathe...can’t...get...off...” wheezed Misty, pushing Whitney away. “Where were you?” asked Cassidy once Misty and Duplica had got their breath back. The duo was thankful that Cassidy had not launched herself at them. “Well, I took Misty to the lake so I could get her a water pokemon. Show ‘em what we got, Mist.” said Duplica. Misty fished the pokeball out of her trackies and pressed the button on the front. Aqua appeared in a flash of white light. She stretched and smiled at Misty. Whitney squealed with delight in a similar way to Misty when she saw Aqua for the first time. Cassidy flinched back slightly. “You okay Cassidy?” asked Misty. “I don’t like the eon’s...” she muttered, shuffling further and further away. Duplica gave her a funny look. “Why? They’re usually perfectly docile, well this is one is, at any rate, and look how cute it is!” Cassidy just shook her head and began to get changed out of her nightwear into a pair of denim hotpants and a spaghetti strapped red shirt. Misty picked up Aqua so that Whitney could cuddle her. “She‘s so amazing!” breathed an awed Whitney, stroking Aqua, who closed her eyes lazily. Duplica looked at the clock on Misty’s bedside cabinet. “Aargh! Breakfast starts in five minutes! We gotta change!” Misty nodded and recalled Aqua in a flash of red light. She then went to her closet and took out a long denim skirt and a white t-shirt that had a gold star splashed on the front. Duplica pulled on a pair of jeans with holes in the knees, and yellow t- shirt that she tied in a knot under her breastbone. Whitney grabbed a yellow dress that went half-way down her thighs. The four girls ran to the Mess Hall just in time to get breakfast. They joined the end of the queue for food and scanned the crowd for the guys. Whitney pointed to a nearby table. “There’s Ash, Brock and Gary. Where’s Butch?” Duplica shrugged and picked up a tray from the stack. Misty looked around the Hall again. No sign of Butch. “Save me some food, I’m gonna go look for Butch.” She said, and before they could say another word, Misty had left the Hall in search of her boyfriend. Ash saw her go and gave the guys a questioning look. “Where’s Misty gone?” he asked. Gary shrugged. “Beats me. Let’s ask the girls. Here they come now!” as he spoke, Duplica had sat down next to Brock and Whitney had sat herself next to Gary. “Hey, where’s Misty?” Ash asked of Duplica and Whitney. “To look for Butch, I think.” Whitney replied, looking at Duplica for confirmation. “Yeah, she did. Do any of you guys know where he is?” Duplica added, directing the question at the boys. “Dunno. He’s probably back at the cabin. We left before he did, so he’s probably on his way here.” Ash nodded, though inside his head he was thinking (gasps of surprise. Sorry, I don’t think Ash is dumb really. He’s too fun to be dumb!). ‘I don’t trust Butch one bit. I’m gonna follow Misty and make sure she’s okay.’ he thought to himself. “Hey guys, I think I left something back at the cabin. I’ll catch you later.” “See ya.” replied Brock through a mouthful of toast. Ash got up and ran out of the hall. Whitney watched him go before remembering something. “Hey Gary, why did Ash look so down last night?” Brock and Gary glanced at each other. “Er...his stomach hurt and he didn’t know if he could manage his food, and you know how much he loves his food!” Gary replied. Brock gave him a look that said ‘Good thinking!’ Whitney shrugged. “He’s been acting weird since the coach drive here. I hope he isn’t sick or something.” Brock shook his head. “He said he felt much better this morning, despite the fact he hit his head on the floor.” Duplica looked at him suspiciously. “Me and Misty were with you nearly all morning and he never said that. Are you sure he’s okay?” one of those water droplet thingies appeared on Brock’s head. “He said it after you left...” he said in a forcibly calm voice. Duplica gave him another look. “Can I speak to you privately for a moment please, Brock?” she asked, her eyes flashing. Brock nodded and he and Duplica got up and went outside. “What the hell is going on?” Duplica hissed “You and Gary are keeping something from me and Whitney, I know it! So tell me what it is or I’ll tell everyone what you sleep with every night!” Brock paled. “Okay! I’ll tell you! As long as you don’t tell anyone about Cudsy!” Duplica shook her head. “What 15 year old sleeps with a cuddly toy Chansey called Cudsy?” Brock smiled nervously. “Okay...me and Gary have got a secret from you and the others. I’m sorry! Ash made us promise not to tell!” Duplica raised her eyebrows. “So there is something up with Ash! Tell me!” Brock looked around as if he expected to see the rest of the campers hiding around the corner. “He...kinda...um...likesMistyalot!” Brock garbled. “He what?!” “He...he likes Misty a lot...Oh, he’s gonna kill me if he finds out I told you!” Duplica’s eyebrows were about to merge with her hair, they were so high. Her mouth dropped open. “Ash has a crush on Misty?” she said. “Not so loud! But yes, he fancies her so much it’s annoying!” Duplica rubbed her forehead. “So that’s why he’s always acting weird when Butch is around! Cos he wants to go out with Misty! My God...I never would’ve guessed!” Brock shook his head. “What’re we gonna do?” he asked. Duplica thought for a moment. She clapped her hands together. “I’ve got the best idea! We can play Truth or Dare, and dare one to kiss the other!” Brock nodded. “That’s better than my idea.” he admitted. “What was your idea?” “To tell them.” It was Duplica’s turn to shake her head. “We can’t tell them! It must be a secret!” Brock smiled at her. “You know that I love you.” Duplica smiled back and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “Of course I do. Now let’s go back inside before the others suspect something.” They headed towards the door until Duplica stopped dead. “What about Whitney? I have to tell her. She’s my friend!” Brock sighed. “I suppose she can know too. But we mustn’t tell Misty, Ash or Butch. Don’t bother telling Cassidy either. We don’t know her well enough for that.” Duplica gave him another kiss before they went back into the Hall. “What did you guys do out there?” asked Gary, grinning. Brock leaned over to whisper in his ear. “I told her about Ash’s thing for Misty.” He murmured. Gary gave him a look that said ‘Are you mad?’ “Don’t worry; we have a plan to get them together. We’ll tell you later. Tell Whitney too.” Gary nodded and leaned over to whisper ‘The Plan’ to Whitney. Duplica watched Whitney’s eyebrows do something like Duplica’s as Gary told her about Ash and Misty. Whitney leaned over to speak with Duplica once Gary had explained everything. “Whatever this plan is, it’s gotta be good!” Duplica grinned. “You bet it is!” -=-=-To Misty-=-=- “Where is Butch? I’d better check his cabin first!” Misty said to herself, once she had left the Hall. She set off in the direction of the wooden huts, humming as she walked. Once she reached his cabin, she knocked on the door. “Butch? You in there?” getting no response, she went inside. The cabin was empty, and Butch’s nightwear was resting on his bed, and his clothes were gone. “He’s probably gone to the Hall. I guess I’ll head back.” She was about to turn when something hard hit her in the back of the head. Her eyes rolled back and she collapsed onto the floor.
