            “I don’t get it.”

Lance sighed. “What are you doing?”

“Physics homework,” He moaned. * Stupid physics! *

“Ahh…” The Dragon Master winced in sympathy. “I had to take it a few years ago. Rather a handful, ne?”

“I don’t understand why I even have to learn it. Biology is so much more fun!”

“Well, to learn chemistry, you need physics, and to learn biology, you need chemistry. It’s like a pyramid and you’re building the base.”

“Yes, but I don’t care about these things!” Red slammed his book shut, sending papers flying as a pen clattered to the ground.

“Well, if you apply it to Pokémon battling, I suppose it isn’t completely worthless.” She demurred.

Red coughed. “And how would I do that?”

Lance settled her self more comfortably on the couch, fluffing up a fuzzy pillow. “I defeated an opponent once, by having my Pokémon create bubbles of colored water that would disappear in the sunshine. It knocked out her entire team.”

            “Wow, did you really?”

“It’s on videotape in the archives if you would like to watch.” She smirked.

            “Bloody wicked!”

“Yes. So physics is not wholly worthless. We walk with it and talk with it and battle with it too…”

“I guess you’re right.” Red sighed.

“Besides, it’s only another few weeks before class ends, right? And then you’ll never need to take it again,” She promised.

“All right!” Red’s eyes began to burn with determination. “I’ll go for it!”

Lance chuckled, and he went back to his homework, feeling better.

She did need to put things in perspective for him sometimes. Knowledge was valuable, and it was never truly lost.

He would mature in time, but for now, she went to get him a snack. Maybe some ants on a log would cheer him up…

In the kitchen, she cut up celery, spread the sticks with peanut butter, and then coated the tops with lots of raisins.

He was struggling with a vector problem when she came back out, but perked up at the sight of the snacks.

            “Thank you!”

            “You’re welcome,” The redhead grinned.

Yes, a ficlet! Apparently that’s anything over 100 words it’s not a drabble any more. There’s no romance in this one, just friendship unless you squint, but *shrug*
