“What are you thinking?” She asked.

Lance turned to look at her, but the smile was wan. “I am not sure you would like to know about my musings, Lorelei.”

She winked at her distant cousin. “It’s not about death and destruction this time, I hope, or Team Rocket’s next move?”

“How sharp you are,” She frowned. “No, I was just hoping my two Dragonair would have their eggs soon.”

            “Ahh…”

Nothing more was said for a moment. Then, she nodded, and glanced off into the distance. Lorelei hesitated, before she spoke.

“You and Red… are you two…”

            “Yes.”

“I suppose it shouldn’t really surprise me, but what if anyone else finds out?” She asked. “The Champion and the Dragon Master together… the tabloids would sell out!”

“Lorelei…” She purred, as something sharp flashed in her hands, “No one else is going to find out from you, right, dear cousin?”

“Of course I would never tell!” The other girl huffed. “I’m with Bruno, after all, and that’s just as damaging.”

“Then we know each other.” Lance flicked her fingers, sending the blades back into their sheaths. “I really wouldn’t want to kill you, but…”

“But for him you would, because you love him.” Lorelei shook her head.

            She nodded.

“I know what it’s like to love someone that much too, Lance, and you’re not the only one who would kill for the one you love.”

Her eyes flashed. “I would too.”

“Then we’re clear?” Lance asked flippantly.

“Mm.” Lorelei said, and then they parted ways.

There’s too much conversation, and not enough action, I feel.
