Lance smiled at Red as he put his flute down, the melody finished. “Is something wrong?” He asked.

“Just a feeling of danger coming,” Red sighed. It had been perhaps three weeks since she had become Sailor Uranus, and ever since then, life had changed drastically. It was difficult enough being Champion of the Elite Four and the Kanto League, but having to fight off demons every few days was also irritating.

“Lance… how long have you been Neptune?”

He shook his head. “Well, it’s been almost a year already.”

“But… no one ever seems to notice those demon attacks…”

“Don’t forget.” He reminded Red. “I know Amnesia Wave. I can make them all forget anything odd ever happened. Also, people tend to ignore strange things or pass it off as pokémon attacks.”

Red could not disagree with that.

She leaned against her pillows as Lance began to play again. The tune started out sad, but it became more cheerful. She could feel her spirits lifting as the song ended.

            “Thank you…”

“Mmm,” He turned, before he pulled Red into a kiss. Red squeaked, but then she shook her head.

“Is it really all right for us to be in love, Lance? It’s too dangerous…”

“If we do not have love, than we have nothing.” He reminded his wife sternly. He would have said more, but then her eyes narrowed as a scream sounded.

They nodded to each other, transformed, and ran outside. Nearby, they could see a girl struggling in the grips of another of those mass-produced monsters.

            Lance sighed.

Red’s eyes flashed angrily as she charged power in her hands, lightning crackling over her fingertips. “Heaven’s Fury!” She cried, sending the bolt of black energy straight into the monster’s chest. It screamed in rage and broke apart into pieces of bloody goo.

Lance frowned as he glanced around, checking for danger. No. There were no other witnesses, and the girl had passed out. “Let’s go.”

Uranus nodded, as she and Neptune spread their wings and flew away.

            “So…”

Lance looked Red in the eyes. “You were nervous today.”

            “How can you tell?”

“The wind whispers your secrets, love, just like the ocean speaks mine.”

She sighed at the non-answer. “You’re mysterious, Lance.”

He chuckled. “Perhaps I am, but I like you.”

“I like you too.” Red rested her head against her lover’s shoulder, being careful not to cut herself. She didn’t understand why his wings were made out of sharp metal, as it didn’t seem to fit Neptune at all (and wouldn’t fins be better for an ocean Senshi), but decided not to ask.

“Are you tired?” He asked solicitously. It would not do for her to fall ill now. Doing the paperwork for both of them would be quite damaging! And what if another monster came and he was unable to defeat it himself?

No, it was better to make sure his wife stayed healthy.

            “A little,” She admitted.

“Yes, it takes time to get used to the power. You should not stay in this form much longer.”

“But… you were Neptune for a week at a stretch once…”

“I’ll tell you about that story some other time. I only mentioned it because it was necessary.” He rebuked her gently.

Red nodded. “At least now I don’t have to do my Calculus homework.” She said cheerfully. “That was my Calculus teacher the youma attacked.”

Lance chuckled, before turning to her with a familiar glint in his eyes. “Then shall we do something more productive?”

She immediately felt her cheeks grow warm. “Yes. Let’s.”

End Fic

This is another Sailor Moon-esque fic. I like it, even though I don’t actually write Sailor Moon fanfiction. I did write ‘Sailor Eevee’ though… before… but I think Red is more mature than Ash. So I cast Red as Uranus and Ash as Moon…

Red and Lance and Pluto and Saturn (who I haven’t decided on yet) have wings and armor because their duties as guardians of the Solar System require more protection than the Princess’s bodyguards. I may write the Inner Senshi armor too, but not wings.
