“Is it a crime to love you?”

Her eyes were cold. “I have a fiancé.”

“I’m not trying to steal you away.” He sighed. “You haven’t seen James in years, Jessiebelle. Why do you still wait for him?”

She glared at him. “Why do you think? I love him!”

Did he think she was one of those fickle girls? She would always stay devoted to the man her parents had chosen for her. They had even been childhood friends, she was certain of it! James just needed a firm hand to control him so he would quit making stupid mistakes. Who better to do it than she?

“Do you really?” Harley frowned. “Or do you love the memory of him?”

“What on earth does that mean?” The redhead snapped.

“I’ve seen James. Many times,” Harley said. “He’s been in Houen, and he’s probably in Shinou now. If he loves you back, why doesn’t he visit you?”

“Shut up!” Jessiebelle stood. “Get out!”

And Harley did, but his words lingered.

Should she really stay committed to a man like James?
