Sabrina sniffled as she blinked her eyes open. Stupid summer colds… she had looked forwards to going shopping with Erika in Celadon today, before spending a few days in the hotel in that city and relaxing, but at the last minute, Erika had run into an old friend and wanted to catch up with him, and she had gotten sick…

            Espeon yawned from her basket.

The girl sighed and tried to get out of bed. Her entire head felt stuffy. She was teetering towards the bathroom when she heard footsteps.

“Sabrina-chan! You shouldn’t be out of bed!”

It took her a second to place the voice. “Red?”

            What was he doing here?

The teen smiled brightly. “Alakazam told me you were sick, so I came to help!”

But wasn’t Red supposed to be in Johto right now, working on the pokédex? What was he doing back in Kanto?

Raichu came out of the kitchen, balancing a tray.

“I made okayu for you.” He said cheerfully. “And we got some umeboshi from the market. I hope you don’t mind.”

Sabrina smiled, touched. “Thanks, Red. But right now I really need to go to the bathroom.”

“Oh!” The boy blushed, taking the tray from Raichu. “Ah… I won’t…”

She made it to the bathroom, before washing her hands and face. That helped wake her up a little, but she still felt congested.

Did she have any cold medicine in the house?

The gym leader began brushing her teeth. A few minutes later when she was finished Espeon helpfully teleported her to the dining room so she didn’t have to walk there herself. Sabrina could teleport, but her sense of direction was atrocious and trying to use psychic powers when sick was a stupid idea.

Red’s okayu was slightly more watery than she was used to, but the rice porridge was easy to swallow and didn’t hurt her throat too badly. The umeboshi helped too.

“Have you been taking anything for your cold?” Red asked.

She tried to remember. “I had some cough syrup yesterday, I think.”

< You’ve been sleeping for two days straight. > Espeon said helpfully. < But your fever’s gone down a bit. >

“You have a fever?” Red looked unhappy. “Okay! I’ll go get you some medicine! What kind would you like?”

Sabrina coughed. “Red, you don’t have to do this.”

“I want to!” He crossed his arms. “Besides, we’re friends. And if you’re sick you should have someone take care of you.”

He hadn’t realized it last time he was in Saffron, but Sabrina seemed to live alone. Where were her parents?

“Then I want the Koro koro brand.” She told him. “Please get the gel caplets.” Those were easier to swallow.

“Okay!” Red bounded out the door.

Raichu looked at Espeon. The eevelution tittered.

< She likes him too. >

Sabrina choked on her mouthful of porridge. “Espeon!”

The electric type smiled at Sabrina. Red likes you back, you know.

She blushed slightly, leaning down so her long black hair hid her face. Red was kind to everyone, but…

“I’m back!” The Champion suddenly called, opening the door with a paper bag in his arms. “Here you go!”

He plunked the medicine down on the table in front of her, beaming.

Sabrina smiled as she looked in the bag. There were two boxes of cough medicine and … a chocolate bar?

“The chocolate’s to help you feel better since you’re sick!” Red grinned. “It can’t hurt, right?”

He really was adorably cute… and three years younger than her. Still, she couldn’t help blushing when their hands touched.

Did he really like her that way?

“Ne, Sabrina-chan…” The brown eyed boy looked at her. “You’re getting really red. Are you still feverish?”

“N-no,” She managed, before taking two of the tablets. “Thanks.”

            “You’re welcome!”

            Raichu grinned knowingly.

The pokemon Zensho manga is seriously the cutest manga ever. It’s nice, too, not uber-sap like ‘Magical Pokemon Adventures’. Too bad it was never translated into English…

Okayu = rice porridge, and Umeboshi are salted pickled plums

Overdose of physiology cram makes me write fluff!
