“Do you think it’s silly of me?” She asks. Her pokémon doesn’t reply verbally. She knows pokémon can’t talk, and she’s become a lot better at battling ever since she took over as the Lavaridge Gym Leader, but she’ll never forget her battle with that boy named Ash. Maybe she remembers it because it was her first gym battle ever, but Ash…

There’s something about him that makes him hard to forget. Torkoal ambles up to her, and she feeds him another piece of coal with a smile. Magu and Megu are quietly watching, their Overheat practice done for the day, and Flannery remembers how Magu evolved while battling Team Rocket. Magu did well in the gym battle against Ash, but fell to his Corphish. Still, she’s not angry at all, since she tried her best as a gym leader and that’s what counts.

Why can’t she forget Ash? His name reminds her of fire, which is … different, but maybe, one day they can sit in the hot springs near Lavaridge together, and talk, but it’s probably wishful thinking because he’s the adventuring type and doesn’t think of the hearts he’s left behind. She almost wishes he could be a bit more like Brock, but not really. Ash is fine the way he is, and she hopes she’ll see him again.
