The radiance was dazzling, and she shielded her eyes as the performance wound down. The cheerleaders waved their pompons as Wallace smiled his dazzling grin, his pokemon gathered around him. Beautiful.

She sighed, wishing that she had the courage to approach him. She made a vow to do so the next morning, after she had calmed down, and went home.

            Wallace….

He was so suave, so perfect. She attended all the Houen Contests, hoping to see him, and had spent the past six months following him around. Despite everything, she still had not gotten the courage to tell him how she felt.

When she arrived at his apartment the next morning, after taking the ferry from Lilycove City to Sootopolis, she found that he was home. His four cheerleaders were sipping lemonade and chatting on the front porch, and it was easy to slip past them. Her heart thumped in her chest as she pushed the door open.

What she saw was hardly what she had expected, and she felt her heart drop into her stomach as she stared. Who… who was that boy?

He was wearing an outlandish white hat, and some kind of outfit in red and green, but… but he was kissing Wallace! She rubbed her eyes again, but the image didn’t change.

“Ruby…” Wallace murmured, as the kiss broke. “I didn’t mean…”

“You were right though,” The boy – Ruby? Said. “If Mimi hadn’t forgiven me, I would never have been able to win against Team Magma and Team Aqua…” He sighed. “But I want to know… have you forgiven me?”

“Of course.” Wallace said gently. “You’ve learned from your mistake. That’s what matters.”

He held Ruby close, and kissed him again, and slowly, she backed out, not wanting to intrude. It just wouldn’t be right.

            Wallace…

Now she knew for sure that she had lost him, and she cried hot, salty tears.

She never attended another Pokemon Contest again.

I like Originshipping too, but Metroshipping is just too cute in Special! ^^ And er, I don’t like the nameless OC who’s narrating this story… though I suppose I pity her?
