“You have to come with me.” Steven pleaded.

“No.” Wallace stuck his tongue out at his friend, unhappy. He didn’t mind trips to the caves along the beach, actually, anywhere near water would be fine, but asking him to explore that newly discovered cave near Verdanturf was a bit too much! He was sure it would be dry and dusty and unpleasant.

“But Wallace! You’re the only one I want to show this to!” Steven put his hands on his hips. “Besides, I already went with you to the oceanic museum last week and I didn’t complain a bit!”

Wallace frowned, considering, and Steven grinned as he saw those blue eyes waver. “Well…”

“Don’t worry Wallace! If there are any wild pokemon there, Aron and I will protect you! And I know exactly how we won’t get separated!”

Wallace blinked at Steven, his eyes widening as his friend quickly unsnapped the metal cuff on his arms, before linking the two chains together. He grinned as he snapped one end around Wallace’s wrist and the other around his own.

“See? Now we’ll always be together!”

Wallace began to smile, before he leaned forwards and kissed a surprised Steven on the cheek. “Silly. I’d still stay with you no matter what.”

“Really?”

“Really.” Wallace said, and they linked pinkies to seal the promise. “Now let’s go to the cave.”

Steven cheered, and began dragging Wallace along happily.
