They whooped as they raced through the fields, hair streaming behind them. Lara clung to Ash tightly as Rapidash galloped on, grass rustling beneath them. After a few more miles, they dismounted; giving Rapidash some hugs and pats for his good work, before setting out their picnic basket.

“So,” Ash said taking a bite of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich, grinning. “I heard that Rapidash is a father!”

“Yes, they had three eggs this year. I’m very proud of him.” Lara grinned. “By the way, is it true that you won the Orange Island Championship?”

Ash blushed, as Lara leaned over, eyeing him with interest. “You did? That’s great news, Ash!”

“Well, it wasn’t easy.” Ash said, rubbing the back of his neck a bit. Lara just grinned before she kissed him.

He almost dropped his sandwich, but he kissed her back.

“How long can you stay?”

“About two weeks.”

“Oh good.” Lara grinned, as the food lay forgotten, sliding her arms around his waist and kissing him again.

Ash closed his eyes happily, as Rapidash snorted in amusement and watched.
