“You make it look so easy.” Misty complained. Ash blinked at her, confused.

“What are you talking about?”

“It’s like, you just saved the world again and you’re not even worried. That was dangerous, Ash! You might have died!”

“Oh, you mean the stuff with Groudon and Kyogre in Houen?” Ash asked, finally understanding. “But it was easy. Besides, Lance helped a lot.” He grinned. “I was really happy to see him again. Did I tell you how he saved me from a burning airship?”

“No.” Misty said stiffly. She didn’t like that tone of adoration in Ash’s voice. It should be aimed towards her, not-!

Ash didn’t notice, smiling brightly, and she felt her heart wither and shrivel as he prattled on.
