“Does it ever bother you?”

“What?” Candice blinks at him, confused.

“It never stops snowing here.” Ash doesn’t mind visiting Snowpoint City every so often, but he doesn’t think he’d like to live here. There’s always a blizzard blowing outside, so it’s dangerous to venture beyond the city limits.

“That’s why I’m an ice gym leader.” She teases.

Ash nods, and takes another gulp from his mug of hot chocolate.

“Besides, League Season is only six months a year. I spend a lot of time traveling to sunnier places.”

She’s still so pale, with dark hair and skin like the snowdrifts. When Ash mentions this, she shakes her head and giggles.

“You have a lot to learn about girls, Ash.”

“Oh.”

“But for what it’s worth, I liked your compliment.” She winks.

They sit by the fire, drinking hot chocolate. It’s still snowing, but Ash feels warm inside. And since Candice’s cheeks are pink, he thinks she does too.
