“Oh?” Lance turned to look at Red, surprised, as the scales of Fate and Destiny dangled from his fingertips. “I would have never expected such out of you.”

“Well it’s true.” Red frowned. “Once peace arrives, there’s nothing for the Chosen ones left to do, is there?”

“I rather thought you liked it that way.” Lance murmured. “It gives us time to spend together.”

“Yes, but peace leads to stagnation and that leads to some other idiot trying to rule the world.” Red sighed. “And maybe they’ll wake MissingNo and you’ll have to die again.”

Lance sighed. “I hope it won’t come to that.”

“Me too,” Red said, and kissed him.
