Red stifled a yawn as she sat in the tour bus along with Lance. The guide up front was yammering something about a famous building where the old Kings and Queens of Kanto were buried, but she wasn’t paying much attention. There was some publicity function or another, and as Champions, they had to be present.

Lance had toned out the tour guide’s yammering, simply because there had been another youma attack last night and neither she nor her partner had gotten much sleep.

In the aftermath of the Silence, things had tapered off somewhat, but occasionally, remnants got through. Then there were the demons…

Neptune narrowed her eyes as she spotted a flash of red from the corner of her eye. * Damn. There goes our break. *

She could take care of this herself. Red needed the rest more.

As the tour bus came to a stop in front of an art museum, Lance left Red sleeping on the seat and slipped into an alleyway. Her transformation was necessarily quick.

She leapt onto a rooftop and scanned. There…

The monster resembled a woman combined with a blender, and was happily shooting gobs of wet goo at passerby, who were screaming like banshees. Lance smirked and prepared her attack.

            “Atlantis Tide.”

Several hundred gallons of seawater deluged the beast. It tried to swim, but sank quickly, the metal portions of its body rusting away. She tsked.

Hmm… she hadn’t sensed gathering darkness. So it was a stray daimon. There was no need for the hoity-toity Sailor Moon and her little gang to get involved.

When she returned to the bus, Red was still fast asleep, mumbling and twitching slightly. Screw the conference! They needed rest more. Let President Goodman make his apologies.

She concentrated, teleporting them both home, and tucked Red into bed. As she turned to leave, her lover reached out for her.

            “Don’t go…” Red pleaded sleepily.

Lance shrugged, before changing out of her catsuit and into a pair of pale blue pajamas. She could use the rest, and the bed was certainly big enough for two…

The younger teen cuddled against her, satisfied.

Yes, a break definitely sounded good, Lance thought, and soon joined her in slumber.

            “No monster?”

Wallace shook her head, tucking the Mercury computer away. “Already destroyed. We got here too slow.”

            Ashline pouted. “Oh.”

“Well, at least there’s no trouble now.” Whitney grinned. “Let’s go get ice cream!”

“I guess the Outers took care of it,” Steven agreed.

“Well, since we came all the way to Indigo Plateau, let’s go on a tour of that chocolate factory!” Ashline pointed.

Misty rolled her eyes, before deciding better of it. Chocolate sounded good…

            And so they did.

End Fic

Completed 12/10/07

I like Sailor Moon-esque fic! This one is set after S and before they adopt Janine.
