Lance’s tears ran down his cheeks as he stroked Red’s hair. “So sorry…”

Red sniffed. “Want you.” He whispered. “Don’t want anyone else, Lance.”

The Champion’s former boyfriend was lying in a puddle of blood.

“It didn’t work, Lance.” The Pallet trainer mumbled. “I want you. Not Green, or Yellow, or Brock, or Bruno, or anyone else! You’re the only one for me!”

“Red-chan…”

“Please Lance.” Red begged. “Just let me stay with you. You don’t have to love me. I just don’t want to be alone any more…”

For a moment, the Dragon Master hesitated, before pulling Red into his arms. “If you wish.”

The boy closed his eyes, and smiled. They had passed.

He wanted Lance, and Lance did want him, he knew for sure, otherwise, why would he cry?

Now, they just had to make sure it stayed this way.
