Blue shivered as she sat next to the small fire with Red, unsure as if she should wring her dress out. It was freezing.

The two of them had gone training together after the events at Cerise Island. Their battles against the Elite Four had sadly proven that they had gotten out of shape, fighting mediocre trainers and their pokemon.

The unexpected rainstorm had just taken the cake. As Blue was still afraid of bird pokemon, and as Red’s Aerodactyl couldn’t fly in the downpour, they had decided to wait it out.

Red had started a fire, and now, they were huddled together. At least they had found shelter! Who knew there were so many small caves dotted around Fuchsia City?

Red pulled a chocolate bar out of his backpack, wishing that he’d thought to pack more food. It was supposed to be a short trip!

“Here.” He handed it to her.
Blue blushed. “Thanks.” She murmured. Red was always so kind. She’d taken shameless advantage of his good nature to scam him in the past, but now, she sincerely regretted it, and they were good friends.

Her stomach grumbled slightly. Skipping breakfast to lose those three stubborn pounds had been a bad idea…

She took a bite of the chocolate bar. It was a bit soggy, but she needed food. * Red’s so kind… *

Red had wrung his red-and-white jacket out to dry, along with his hat, and now they were hanging on overhanging rocks near the fire. He shivered. His black t-shirt and blue jeans weren’t the best coverage…

            “Are you cold?”

            “A little.” He admitted.

Blue wanted to help, but she was freezing too. She didn’t have anything besides her poke belt.

“Um…. Blue…” Red blushed. “You should dry out your clothes too. You don’t want to catch a cold!”

            That was true, but underneath…

With a sigh, Blue fixed him with a glare. “Don’t peek.” She warned. * If I didn’t know he was naïve… *

She still wasn’t busty enough to wear a bra, so she slid the skintight black dress off. It was nice to feel the warmth of their campfire on her bare skin, but being next to a boy in only her panties and sandals, even one as nice as Red, was a bit unnerving.

Red kept his eyes covered. “Blue, are you done yet?”

“Um, I’m done.” She hung her dress up next to his jacket. “Just… don’t look at me!”

“Why?” Red asked. His face flamed rapidly quickly when he caught sight of her. “O-oh! Sorry!”

“It’s all right.” She grumbled, crossing her arms. Hopefully, her clothing would dry quickly!

“D-Do you want my shirt then?” * Must not look! *

She flipped a hand. “It’s fine. Just don’t peek again, or I’ll sic Blastoise on you!”

            “Yes ma’am!” He stuttered.

The fire crackled as they both drifted off.

Blue woke first a few hours later. She quickly pulled her now-dry dress back on, before going over to shake Red up.

            “Huh?”

“The fire’s gone out and the rain’s stopped. We can go now.” She grinned.

“Oh good!” The Champion grinned. “Um, Blue?”

            “Yes?”

“You are pretty. I’ve always thought so. And I um, didn’t mean to look!” He babbled. * I hope she won’t get mad! *

“I know you didn’t.” She patted him on the shoulder. * Not that I would mind… *

She released her Jigglypuff. “We should probably get going.”

“Yeah,” He agreed quickly. “See you again soon, Blue!”

He released Aerodactyl and took off.

She let Jigglypuff out. “Let’s go. First stop – Seafoam Islands.”

Jigglypuff nodded, and Blue waved goodbye to Red.

Next time she saw him, maybe she could actually tell him how she felt.
