Hungry. So hungry…

He slithered along the ground, flicking his tongue out. Ah. Sweet… eggs…

The Ekans slithered towards the alluring scent. Up a tree, and there on a branch, was an unguarded nest with two bluish spheres in it.

Eggsssss!

He swallowed the first one. Rich, yellow yolk oozed down his throat as the shell cracked. The sharp bits didn’t bother him much. It took the edge off of his hunger, but it wasn’t enough…

He bit down on the second egg, before crawling back down to the ground. He burrowed deep underground before he ate his prize. There was no sense in eating out in the open, not when the mother bird might come home soon.

He curled up to sleep, no longer hungry.
