It shouldn’t work. He’s more than twenty years older than she is, and even if her husband hasn’t been home for almost six years, and he’s divorced with grandchildren, that doesn’t mean they should succumb! Simple lust is out of the question.

He has a responsibility to uphold. If news of this affair ever got out, he could kiss his League support good-bye.

            Samuel Oak sighed.

But Delia was so kind, and charming, and gentle. She was beautiful too, and looked much younger than her twenty-odd years. Yes, she was a young mother, and no doubt lonely without Ash around to keep her company, so she had taken to bringing him casseroles and he’d often say hello when he saw her gardening, but it shouldn’t…

He couldn’t help it. He’d gone without for a long time, and she’d smiled sweetly, almost flirtatiously, so he had kissed her, and then she had kissed back, and now they were heading for his bedroom with almost fervent haste, clothes half-undone.

It had to be a dream – too many sleepless nights boosted by caffeine, perhaps.

But even if he’ll wake up any minute, he should probably enjoy it, and she’s still smiling.

I’m not very fond of Eldershipping, but I write it once in a while…
