It was cold.

He blinked his eyes open, but the gloom did not disperse. He sighed, stuffing his hands into his pockets. Great.

There wasn’t any light anywhere. He picked a random direction and started walking.

That was when he started to hear the voices.

Red really couldn’t tell what they were saying, but they got fainter the farther away he walked. Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

And then, there was a gate.

The gate was indescribably beautiful and radiating so much light he had to shield his eyes. How could he have missed something like this?

He stepped in.

And then strong arms pulled him into a hug, and he gasped as tears welled up in his eyes. He recognized that face!

“Lance-chan…”

“Shh.” His lover soothed, kissing him. “You’re safe now. It’s all right.”

And it was.
