Sakaki sat mournfully next to Seiyou, watching the video screens before him. He had been personally offended, quite put out actually, that Kira might be one of his family members, but it was no use. Matsubusa had investigated four different families on the suspicion of being Kira, and now he was dead, so one of those four hid the killer.

            He had to believe that.

They had bugged and put cameras in almost every inch of the house, even the bathrooms, while his children were at school and his wife was out shopping. Poor Hanako. She did not deserve thisc and neither did his children, Wataru and his adorable youngest daughter Yellowc

            He sighed.

Seiyou poured herself another glass of orange juice and frowned. She would not have gone this far, but she needed concrete proof. Kira was dangerous, and now she could not rely on the Japanese police to help any more. They were frightened. All she had left was a small four-man team with Sakaki at the head. But if they were willing to lay down their lives to fight evil, that must be worth something!

They had to believe that justice would prevail.

She had taken a gamble, shown her face to those men, but as long as they did not know her true name, everything would work out. She glanced up at the screen as Wataru opened the door, walking into the house.

Sakaki frowned and watched alongside her. Waiting.

gTadaima.h Wataru called, taking off her shoes. She frowned in surprise – no one else was home? With a shrug, she went upstairs to her room. Upon checking the door, her eyes narrowed, and she opened it, striding in as she flopped down onto the bed.

Daigo floated behind her silently, exhausted. If only the rules didnft force the Shinigami to follow the one who held their Death Notec

He had to suffer through all her classes, and now, he was bored out of his skull. Wataru, if youfre not going to do anything interesting, letfs play a game. Your new Pocket Monsters Adventures looks interesting.

She didnft answer, as she turned on her desk lamp and began to work on her calculus problems.

            Wataruc are you ignoring me?

Yes she was, but she was most certainly not going o tell him that. She finished the problem and moved on to the next one.

Daigo frowned. Wataru was being quite rude today. Hey, are you listening to me?

An hour passed in relative silence, before Wataru pulled on a jacket and left the house. Daigo fumed inside, more than slightly put out.

What was she thinking? He was a Death God, so why couldnft she show him some respect?

She really was a very boring person. Why couldnft someone else have picked up his Death Note?

            Stupid Fatec

            Ifm talking to you, Wataru!

She ran her fingertips against the jacket edges, before she sighed. * No bugs herec * gDaigo.h

Finally you decide to acknowledge my presence! He flapped his wings, irritated.

gTherefs a chance that surveillance cameras and bugs, no, probably both, have been installed in my house.h She said coldly.

Daigo gaped at her. What? But the piece of paper in your door was still therec

Wataru chuckled. gThe paper is a blind. Itfs to make people think Ifm checking who goes into my room. What I really check is the door knob.h

            I donft get you.

gWhen I close my door, the door knob automatically returns to a horizontal position. But before I leave, I always lower it about five millimeters. That way, when I open the door, I know instantly if someone has been in my room.h

            Oh. Soc

gWhen I opened my bedroom door today, I couldnft raise the handle any. Thatfs a hint. But of course, with only the door knob, I couldnft be certain, soch

            So what? Daigo yawned.

Wataru smiled. gI put a piece of mechanical pencil lead on the hinge in such a way that it snaps if my door is opened. Ifve always removed and reinserted it myself, but today it was broken. That proves that someone was in my room.h

Daigo stifled a second yawn as he followed her into the bookstore. So now that youfre being watched, what are you going to do? Study up on security systems?

gNo.h Wataru said. She paid for her purchases quietly and then left the shop. gOh, and Daigoc Ifm afraid you wonft be getting any apples any time soon.h

What? Why? The juicy red fruits were one of the very few perks of his job.

gWhat happens if you eat an apple and it gets caught on camera, hmm?h

Daigo paled. Well, I wouldnft be seen, but it would look like the apple was floating in midair, and it would disappearc

gI thought so.h She nodded. gLooks like you wonft be getting any apples for a while then. Shinigami canft die, so you wonft starve.h

Daigo twitched. Hey Wataruc listen. For me, apples are like, well, cigarettes or alcohol for humans. If I donft get some for a while, Ifll go into withdrawal.

gOh, I didnft know that. Fascinating.h She shrugged as they walked up to her house. gWell, in that case, all you have to do is find a place to eat where the cameras wonft catch you!h

c Youfre saying I have to scour your room for cameras?

gYou were the one complaining of being bored.h Wataru retorted. gSo make yourself useful for once.h

Daigo shook his head as he followed her instead. Oh well. Perhaps he could pretend it was a game of some sortc

Meanwhile, Wataru headed upstairs to her bedroom, turned on the lights, and relaxed on her bed, flipping open one of her new magazines.

Sakaki goggled at the sight. gOh my Lord. Thatfsch

Seiyou was vaguely disturbed at the content, despite being female. gI never knew your son was into that sort of thing.h She said dryly, smoothing down her skirt. gBut he is seventeen, so I suppose it makes sense.h

gI never thought he would like something like this! Hefs always been so studious and seriousch Sakaki dearly began to wish that they had not begun this inspection. He was learning information that was c disturbing, and not what he wanted either.

gStill, it seems to me a little odd, almost as though hefs explaining to us why he bugs his room.h

gSeiyou! Do you suspect my son?h Sakaki demanded.

gOf course. I suspect everyone. Thatfs why I bugged your house and three others.h Seiyou continued practically, picking up a chocolate bonbon and eating it in one gulp. gBut we should find Kira soon, donft worry.h

Wataru continued to stare at the pictures, occasionally flipping a page. Certainly, it was very interesting, though she wondered if that position was anatomically feasible, what with them both being male and all.

Wataru, therefs a camera hidden in your air conditioner. Daigo called, before peering into another nook of the room.

            * I was right! There are cameras. But I canft imagine the Japanese police going so far, so it must be S. *

She flipped to another page, before she stood, stretching. gWell, that one wasnft too bad.h She moved to her bookcase, where she took out a thick encyclopedia, flipping it open, revealing it to be a hollow book with several other dirty magazines inside.

Sakaki gaped at her image on the screen.

gOniichan! Dinner!h Yellow called from downstairs. Wataru hastily shoved the encyclopedia back onto a shelf.

gComing!h She called, before she walked downstairs.

            Sakaki was still in shock.

Giselle chewed on her lower lip as she frowned, wonderingc

I think I write related drabbles better than a whole coherent story, at least prompts-wisec because I like to skip boring stuffc who doesnft?

Hehehe, I did wind up putting this and all the drabbles into eDeath Notef though. And Wataru reads yaoi porn! ^^
