Red shivered, glancing around. Why had he thought it was a good idea to search for Clefairy in Mount Moon in the dead of winter? He rubbed his arms as he and Charizard made their way through the swiftly falling snow. If only they could find some shelter…

Was that a light up ahead?

Pikachu returned to her poke ball, shivering, and Charizard huffed out a plume of smoke, clearly not happy with the way things were going.

Red and Charizard trudged though several more yards of snow. “It is a light!”

Thank goodness. Charizard yawned. Will you be all right now?

Seeing the snow putting out Charizard’s tail flame, Red nodded and recalled his dragon to his poke ball. After a few more yards, he was at the entrance to a cabin. He managed to get most of the snow off the doorstep, but seeing no doorbell, pushed the door. It opened easily.

Red blinked, surprised. Shrugging, he closed the door behind him. He took off his sneakers and socks, as they were completely soaked through, followed by his jacket and jeans. He shivered, standing there in his underwear and t-shirt, before he walked in. There was a fire blazing in the fireplace, and a table with several covered plates on it, but the house was empty.

            That was odd…

Red went into the bathroom, seeing the toilet seat up. He felt a bit better, knowing that he was in a guy’s house. He took a quick shower and then wrapped himself in a plush red bathrobe that was on a hook, and then went outside.

The occupant still had not returned, so Red opened the dishes. He ate heartily of the shrimp in tomato sauce and the steamed bok choy, had two bowls of rice, and finished off with some red bean soup.

Perhaps the other man had gotten trapped in the snowstorm?

Red covered the plates and washed his dishes in the kitchen. Going to the bedroom, he found a set of pajamas laid out. They were black with snowflakes on them, and a bit too large, but his other clothes were still drying in front of the fire, so…

He put them on, climbed into bed, and fell asleep.

The next morning, he woke up to find that the dishes had been cleared away and that there were freshly baked blueberry scones and milk on the table. How odd.

“Hello?” He called. “Who lives here?”

            There was no reply.

Red helped himself to breakfast and then looked outside. The snowstorm was still blowing. He sighed.

            This was so mysterious…

A movement caught his eye, and he blinked. “Lance?”

            The Dragon Master froze.

“What are you doing here? Is this your cabin?”

            Lance nodded.

“Oh! Thanks for dinner and everything.” Red blushed. “It was really nice…”

“No problem” Lance told him. There was something in his eyes though… almost hungry…

Red edged backwards, and that was when Lance kissed him.

“What was that for?” Red blinked.

            “Dinner.” Lance grinned.

“Oh.” Red’s smile turned coy. “And now you’ll charge for the bed, ne?”

Lance chuckled. “I didn’t expect you to show up here. I like the peace and quiet in Mount Moon; it’s nice to have a few weeks of vacation away from the Plateau…”

“Well, can I vacation with you?” Red asked his lover.

“Of course you can, Red-chan. I wasn’t expecting company, but this is a pleasant surprise.” Lance smirked, as his hands slid lower.

Red beamed. “Guess exploring was a good idea after all!”

^^V

Red needs to be more assertive, and Lance needs to stop being a coward about love, not in this fic explicitly, but in general, in my fanon…
