He backs away, his face paling, like he’s seen a ghost. Of course, it is to be expected – everyone thought he was dead after Cerise, and Red is no exception.

Lance smirks, slowly. “Did you miss me, Champion?”

“L-Lance…” Red stammers. “W-Why are you here?”

“I’m not haunting you, if that’s what you’re asking.” His voice is curt. “I just came to get my things.”

Red is mute and immobile as Lance walks into the bedroom. He emerges a few minutes later with a small suitcase, neatly packed. Red doesn’t want to know what’s inside – he can probably guess.

Lance places two Ultra Balls on his desk. “Ptera and my Gyarados, so Aeroy and Gyara won’t be lonely.”

Red can’t respond to this. He doesn’t know what to say or do. He’s frozen, unable to believe anything, even when Lance leaves.

Lance knows that his visit was unwelcome, but that’s the last time he’ll see Red in any case. He knows that Red no longer cares – he has a fluffy little blond twit, Yellow wasn’t it – to distract himself with now.

Soon, very soon, everything will be over.

Red wants to say something, anything, but he knows that he should have had more faith. He should have waited for Lance. He should never have let Yellow talk him into living together, and even though they’re not doing anything of that sort yet since she’s too young, it’s the thought that counts.

He’s surprised she didn’t find Lance’s things, but Lance was always good at hiding…

Now, though, it’s Red who feels abandoned.

Aeroy and Gyara are happy to see their mates, but that doesn’t stop them from giving him reproachful looks.

            They know.

Red cries for several weeks in a row.

Yellow isn’t sure what’s wrong with him. Of course, she was asleep when Lance made his visit, but Red will never tell.

He’s not sure what Yellow did to Lance, but he can guess…

It’s just that he was lonely, but that’s no excuse. He doubts he’ll see the Dragon Master again.

Lance doesn’t trust easily, and he’s just undone everything between them!

What is he going to do now?

*Sniff* Poor Lance…

Lance: I see a sequel

Phantomness: *nods* I’m not sure whether it’ll be angsty – oh heck, why not? I’m stressed!

Kairo: No work for the humor muse then!

Shoyko: >.<
