“I’ve never done this before.” Red said nervously.

Lance shrugged, his golden eyes bright. “It’s all right.”

“I know, but… it doesn’t bother you?”

“Should it?” Lance asked, smoothing down his skirts.

Red sighed, as Lance pulled her into a kiss. She didn’t wear skirts, but that was because they were impractical for trainer work, not because she didn’t like being a girl. But now they were on summer vacation, and she had no challengers.

That was the reason why they were standing in the dressing room at the mall, while Lance handed her skirts and she nervously tried them on in front of the three-way mirror.

“I don’t know whether I should be jealous or very disturbed that you know more about this than I do.”

“Suit yourself.” Lance shrugged.

Red eyed the sailor skirt with interest. It didn’t look all that bad, and it wasn’t frilly. It would do. She got three in red, white and blue.

“See, that wasn’t so bad was it?” Lance asked, as he paid for her purchases.

“I guess I was expecting you to get me something like…”

“Like what I’m wearing?” Lance asked, indicating the long black skirt that swept to his feet in layers of shirred silk, the blouse of white silk with a cascade of lace down the front, and the jeweled combs in his hair.

Red nodded.

“Silly. I would never force you into something you didn’t want to wear.”

“I’ll remember that for future reference, then,” Red laughed, and kissed him.
