Wataru hates Ash. It’s a funny thing, since Ash is Red, but whenever he sees the golden choker around Ash’s neck, he has to resist the urge to tear it off. Still, until he can subdue Lance once and for all, there really isn’t much he can do about it.

Ash is frightened, because he keeps hearing a voice in his head, a stronger, more mature version of him. It frightens him to no end, and sometimes he feels that he is a mask, and hollow inside…

Lance wakes up with nightmares, and no matter how hard he tries, he can never throw the blasted Ring away, because it keeps coming back, and it’s getting harder to keep control….

Red waits, and plots, and when Ash stumbles off a cliff one day, he takes control for good. His eyes are a pretty bloody red, and he flies to Indigo Plateau on Aeroy’s back, laughing inside.

Lance doesn’t tell the different at first, but then the power of the Tauk blazes, and he feels the walls close around him.

Wataru laughs, knowing that Red has broken free, and he carefully weaves the last seals into place, as he pulls the one he loves into a kiss.

They’re free.

… Wataru (Lance’s Japanese name that I use for Manga! Lance) and Red are the ‘Yami’ (they’re the manga versions), and Lance and Ash are the ‘Hikari’ (the stupid lights from the anime). Er, well, I mean, yeah. Lance came out really stupid in the dub, and Ash well… is generally clueless. I like Red better’n Ash anyway.
