Red and Lance walked home together from school, Red’s arm wrapped around Lance’s waist while Lance held a large umbrella above both of them. It was a rainy day, and other passerby hurried along, boots making splashy sounds as they waded through the muddy roads.

Rain was wonderful, because when it rained, men and women – or men and men, even – could hold each other and no one would protest. He felt Lance smile at him, even as they traipsed down the lane until they reached home.

Home was a nice place, full of creamy earthen tones. They toweled off in the hallway before running down to the bathroom. There, a bath steamed, already ready. Their clothes went flying as they dove in.

“Minx.” Lance teased, as Red soaped his face.

            “… What do you mean?”

“Don’t think I didn’t notice you feeling me through my pants when we were walking home.”

“Ohh, is that what you’re talking about?” Red pursed his lips, pouting.

“Mm.” Lance agreed, hooking an arm about Red’s shoulders and pulling him into a kiss. Red giggled.

Rainy days and hot baths made a wonderful combination.

This is true, by the way. In my lil’ book of Japanese culture, it says that in feudal times, men and women were not supposed to be intimate in public, so no holding hands. It was ok to do this though, when it was raining and they shared an umbrella, so often, when a man hands a woman an umbrella, he is declaring love for her. How sweet!
