Red managed to wear his glasses for a full three weeks. However, they fell off his face twice, broke thrice, and got lost five times, so the Elite Four unanimously decided that they were tired of sweeping up broken glass and seeing Red run around like a chicken with his head cut of trying to find his lenses.

They all chipped in and got him colored contacts instead.

Red was surprised, but thanked them, and Lance sat with him for an hour in front of a three-way mirror as he tried to put them in. He lost count of how many times he poked himself in the eye, and was rather weepy and disgruntled when it was over.

“I have to do this every day for the rest of my life?”

“Looks like it.” Lance shrugged. “It’ll be second nature in two weeks or so.”

“… I don’t know, Lance. It feels weird.”

“Mm. Think of it on the bright side, Red. How many people have brown eyes?”

“A lot – oh!”

“Yes, Red. You’ll be able to sneak out of Indigo Plateau a bit easier, hai?”

“Thanks then,” Red turned around and hugged Lance. Lance caught the jar of saline solution before it hit the ground.

“Careful! It would be terrible if you broke these too!”

“I know.” Red rose on his tiptoes and kissed Lance quickly. “But these might be better, so I do want to say thank you.”

Lance chuckled and kissed Red back.

This rather reminds me of the ‘Glasses’ theme #31 from earlier. Hey… I can tie em together! And as for my own personal preference, I much prefer glasses since I hate putting contact lenses in me eyes… and yeah, my little sister actually did all of these things with her glasses when she got em… ^^
