At first, she almost thinks it’s a picture of her. After all, the girl in the picture is turned away from the camera, and her long, dark red hair shades her face. She’s wearing a lovely gown of sapphire silk with silver spangles, and that’s when Misty realizes that it’s not her.

After all, she knows she never wore a dress like that.

Who is this girl then, whose picture Red keeps so close to his heart?

She knows that she shouldn’t be going through his wallet, but he did drop it and that’s why they’re crawling through this area in the woods. She should tell him that she found it, but she can’t bring herself to tear away.

She takes out another picture, and it’s another… no. It’s a boy this time, with red hair up in spikes, and golden eyes, but his expression is soft. Misty recognizes his face, and she gasps.

And she realizes that she and Yellow have both lost the battle for Red’s heart.
