“You cheated.” Red complained, tossing his cards onto the table. Lance raised a single coppery eyebrow at the accusation.

“Red, just face it. You’re hopeless at Hearts.” Lorelei consoled him.

“A lousy four of diamonds! How on earth did you have the two?”

“… Luck?” Lance offered. Red glared at the King of Hearts and Queen of Spades he had picked up in the final round, bringing his total score to a whopping nineteen points. Lorelei and Agatha looked unrepentant. So did Lance, for that matter.

Red sulked.

He did cheer up a moment later when Lance yanked him over the table and kissed him. “Better?”

“… If this is a consolation prize, I have to lose more often.” Red breathed.
