At first glance, Red almost didn’t recognize him. His long hair, normally gelled into sharp spikes, flew freely around his face, braided in coils of golden ribbon tinkling with little bells. His somber clothing had been replaced by a series of gauzy shawls, dark blue and green and embroidered with fantastic flourishes. Golden bangles and anklets tinkled as he moved through the movements of the furious dance, the twin swords he wielded sparking and glittering like bolts of lightning.

As the dance wound down, the crowd roared with appreciation, showering the ground with coins. Unhurriedly, the dancer withdrew a highly polished golden flute from his pack, and began to play. Red felt his eyes sliding shut, and when he woke up, the dancer and the gold were both gone.

He returned to Indigo Plateau, and headed straight to Lance’s room. The Champion was busy typing away on his laptop, squinting at the screen through his reading glasses.

            “Lance.”

“Yes, Champion?” The Dragon Master asked, filling in another box as he minimized the window and spun around in his chair to look at the other trainer.

            “I saw you today.”

            “Undoubtedly.”

Red sighed and crossed his arms. “I mean that I saw you dancing.”

That caught Lance’s attention, and he frowned. “Whatever do you mean, Red?”

Honestly, if Red did not know better, he could have sworn what had happened earlier was an illusion but there was a way to test his theory out…

“You’re a dancer, aren’t you?” He asked, and he threw a poke ball forwards. Scythe exploded out, and just as Red had expected, Lance did not get hit. A moment later, the mantis pokémon crumpled. Lance glared, before he tucked two blades back into his sleeves.

They were different from the ones before, but it was enough confirmation for him.

“Why do you hide this, Lance? You’re talented.”

Lance shook his head. “No one wants to know that the Dragon Master was the son of a penniless prostitute and a harem dancer, Red.”

“But… is that how you earned the money to start your journey?”

A curt nod was his answer.

“I think it was… Lance, you were brilliant!”

Golden eyes regarded him in surprise. “You really think so?”

“Yes, and now I know how you can pull off the intimidation act so well.”

A slight smile crinkled at the edges of his eyes, and Lance shrugged. “Think what you will.”

            “I think you’re wonderful.”

“Well, I am flattered by your praise, honestly… was there something else you wanted?”

“If you’re going to dance, could I come watch again?” Red pleaded.

            “If you insist…”

Two weeks passed before the next meeting. Lance was wearing burnished orange this time, Red noticed, but the golden bells were still the same. He looked nice with his hair down.

Red followed a safe distance behind as Lance found a relatively populous area of Saffron City, lifted his flute to his lips, and began to play. A crowd quickly gathered, and then he switched to dancing.

The blades flashed brilliantly through the dusty air, and Red blinked in surprise. This was a different dance from last time, but the way Lance twisted and feinted and parried was entrancing…

He licked suddenly dry lips as the dance ended.

The crowd roared in appreciation, and again, Lance lulled them to sleep. This time, Red had taken Awakening in advance and managed to stay awake.

He watched as Lance smiled and released Dragonite, and took off. He released Aerodactyl and followed. They returned to the Plateau at roughly the same time.

“Are you going to watch me undress?” Lance asked, as he caught Red waiting for him at the door to his room.

            Red blushed. “I’m sorry…”

“No matter.” Lance beckoned Red inside, deciding not to change until later. Red caught his eyes roving over Lance’s body and looked down hurriedly.

Who knew that under his bodysuits he was so good-looking?

            “Why didn’t you fall asleep?”

            “I took awakening.” Red grinned.

“Sly devil, Champion.” Lance laughed. He began to undo the braids, and Red watched in fascination as gauzy golden ribbons and bells dropped to the ground. Lance gathered them up and put them in a little rosewood box on his desk.

The bracelets and anklets came next, and Red stifled a groan as Lance’s legs shifted and he caught a glimpse of what he probably should not have seen. But… well… it wasn’t his fault Lance was only wearing what looked like several semitransparent silk scarves and he was tempted!

Like any other teenaged boy, he had hormones. Admittedly, he hadn’t ever thought of Lance that way before, but even so…

Well, Lance was nice. And smart. And powerful…

And he really wouldn’t mind sleeping with him!

“Red…” Lance crooned, and Red snapped back to himself only to find that Lance had stripped down and was dressed in, well, almost nothing. He stifled a groan, and that was when Lance pressed a hand against the bulge on the front of his jeans.

Red shrieked as he felt semen stain his pants. “Lance! What did you do that for?”

“I assume you followed me here for a ‘private dance’.” Lance purred, as he unfastened Red’s jeans, followed by his soaked boxers. “Shall we?”

            “… You really want me?”

“You are a rather adorable child.” Lance whispered, as he pushed Red down beneath him. “And we’re friends, aren’t we?”

Red had to agree, and afterwards, things were quite simple.
