The streets bustled with the sound of activity. Young children chased each other and their pokemon amidst the pedestrian traffic, as two Champions sat at a roadside café, sipping on milkshakes, their eyes hidden behind sunglasses and their hair styled and clipped to avoid recognition.

Suddenly, a woman screamed. They turned to see a man holding a gun to a child’s head. His eyes were mad, his words garbled about the evils of pokémon, and from the contraction of his face, it seemed he was about to shoot. The two sighed, before they both blurred into action.

The man dropped to the ground, paralyzed, while the other set the child down several feet away. The relieved mother hugged the child, and then she hugged the man. His hat and sunglasses dropped to the ground, revealing startled crimson eyes.

            “Champion Red!” She gasped.

Lance sighed. No point in hiding now. He released Dragonite, as the Officer Jennies gathered around the fallen man, securing him – little need now since he was frozen yet. “Let’s go, Red.”

Red nodded, hopping on after the Dragon Master as they took off. The little girl stared after them, eyes wide.

Her mother hugged her tightly. “Oh, he’s so wonderful… they both are…”

The Champion, and the Leader of the Elite Four…

“… You are such a hero.” Lance sighed, tapping Red on the nose. Red sighed.

“Should I have let her die?”

            “I suppose not…”

Red shook his head. “You shouldn’t look so sad, Lance! Sure, it ruined our date, but we did the right thing!” He tipped his lover’s head down and kissed him.

Lance chuckled, pulling Red into a hug. “Whatever you say, love.”

            “I am right!” Red protested.

“Mm. Why don’t you… convince me?”

            And Red did.

Fluff! And hey, we like seeing our heroes save innocent little kids from big bad terrorists. *Cough* Have I got enough loyalty now, George Bush?
