Shoujo-ai, disguised as shonen-ai.

It’s so much easier to be a boy, Red thinks, as she spikes up her hair and binds her breasts flat. She’s glad she’s small, because it’s simpler when she doesn’t have to deal with the emotions. She slides on her t-shirt and jacket, pulls on her jeans, and heads outdoors, where Lance is waiting with her Dragonite.

Of course she knows Lance is a girl. After all, Lance is the one who taught her, though Lance is more sophisticated – and painful – in her disguise. She binds herself tightly with a corset of metal, and Red winces to see the bruises on her body every night when she takes it off. But she has to admit, it does the job well, and no one ever mistakes Lance for a girl, ever.

Lance is good at what she does.

Of course, she taught Red other things too, but as they fly off, she thinks that it’s nice to be a boy. Even when they step into the secret grove and they can shed their disguises, and be someone other than Champion and Dragon Master for now.

Lance kisses her, and it’s like a new learning experience every time. She moans as she feels fingers slip inside her, and then she’s lost.

And Lance smiles, and tells her she still has much to learn.
