“You’ve got mail!” His pokédex blared happily.

“It better not be spam again.” Red muttered, clicking open his PokeNav. The small letter icon danced on the screen until he clicked on it.

The letter turned out to be from Lance, and Red grinned as he read it. It was a pity that the Dragon Master was still in Blackthorn, making preparations for his grandfather’s funeral, but as long as they could still communicate, it would be all right. He finished the note, before he hit delete.

It was dangerous, this game they were playing. Their love was forbidden for many reasons, and they had to play it safe, until the time was right.

For now, he was content with what he had, and he began composing an email back to Lance.
