He kissed him, watched those brilliant eyes dull slowly, as he slipped under Hypnosis. He kissed him again, ignoring the tears running down his cheeks as he gently laid the boy on the bed, before pressing another kiss to his forehead. He left the house silently on dragon’s wings, and knew that in his absence, the pokémon would take care of the rest.

Poliwrath laid a gloved hand on Master Red’s forehead sadly. It hurt all of them, Aeroy especially, for now he would never see his mate again, but for the good of the world, it had to be done. He began to reinforce the mental blocks Lance had woven, adding deception and subterfuge, slick glassy walls of almost-ice to protect him.

And when Lorelei and Agatha froze Red solid, only Pika escaped, and the rest were glad for the peace.

            It did not last.

Pika had always been a wild card, and he brought with him a girl in straw yellow, and she… killed him.

Red didn’t remember – Poliwrath reinforced the blocks the first night after Cerise, and tried, really tried, to let Master be happy. Aeroy wept for his mate, but his weeping was over by the next morning.

No one had to know after all.

And Red never had to remember.

Angst! *Sobs* and I think Lance would erase Red’s memories to protect him.
