Yellow screamed as molten lava surged from the earth, boulders hurtling through the air and landing in the ocean around Cerise Island with audible hisses. Lance laughed, triumphantly, as he stood amidst the destruction, heedless of the spewing smoke and noxious fumes inundating the area. The power of nature was truly awesome, but that didn’t mean she wanted to be there to see it! She tried to run, but he snapped his Dragonite forwards with a Strength attack, and magma spurted from the broken earth. She fell to the ground with a scream, the superheated rock burning her flesh.

“Hyper Beam.” Lance crooned.

Dragonite smiled, and blasted Yellow into the ground. The girl lay still. There was no way she could have survived, and even now, hot blood was beginning to leak from the volcano. There was no point in staying here any longer.

He hopped on Dragonite’s back, and took off. Moments later Agatha and Lorelei caught up with him, prisoners in tow. Green was deathly limp in his grandmother’s arms, probably as the result of her poison attack, and Red was once again an ice statue.

“What happened to Bruno?” Lance asked.

Agatha shrugged. “Said that he’d stay there and help the pokémon evacuate.”

“The more fool he.” Lance said, shaking his head. “There aren’t any wild pokémon there, though if he’s attempting to save the others…”

“I doubt he’ll succeed. Perhaps Koga will survive, but the others? Not so.”

Lance nodded, and together, the Elite watched as explosions rocked the land, and they smiled…
