Lara wonders how she could have ever gotten so lucky. She never expected to run into Ash Ketchum again. Even though they had parted on amiable terms, she had her Ranch to run and he had gone off journeying to chase his dream and become a Pokemon Master. But four years later, he had beaten the Shinou League, and had come back to visit.

Rapidash had been happy to see him too, and licked his face. Lara almost wished she could do the same, before reminding herself that it was improper! Ash grinned and hugged Rapidash, before he turned and gave her a big smile. He had grown taller; almost six inches, she thought, and did look slightly more muscular. She blushed.

“Hi, Lara!”

“Hey Ash.” She replied. “How have you been?”

“Great!” Then he turned and gave her a hug too.

Lara had blinked at that, confused, but definitely not against it. Ash was so affectionate.

“So, what say you we have some lemonade and chat?” She suggested.

His eyes had lit up. “Sure!”

Ash liked Lara. She had been nice to him when he had met her, and her blue hair was cute. He hadn’t thought about her much on his journey, but now that he had completed his goal, it was time to catch up with his old friends. And Lara was a friend, wasn’t she?

Still, he couldn’t help but wonder. He’d had a few dreams about her lately that had caused him to wake up with wet spots on his sleeping bag. When he had asked Brock, the older teen had just laughed and told him it was about time, whatever that meant.

Nonetheless, Lara made really good pink lemonade! And she had sesame crackers too. He was happy.

They had talked about his journey, and Ash had learned that she had won the Race every year since Rapidash had evolved. He was happy for her.

Lara, on the other hand, was a bit disconcerted to find out that Ash had traveled with other girls besides Misty, but hid it well, and he seemed to regard them as friends anyway. Maybe she still had a chance.

“So, Ash, want to stay for a few more days?”

“Sure.” He grinned. He was free for several months until the next Shinou League challenge. Why not relax for a while?

Lara hid a smile, and wondered if she would have enough time to win his heart.
