Sometimes, Hisagi gets tired of swinging his sword, cleaving through Hollow after Hollow, knowing that they will become purified and that they will hopefully have a better life in Soul Society. Yet, it never ends. The waves of Hollow never cease. Hueco Mundo is never empty. No matter how many souls they bury, no matter how many monsters they slay, as long as humans keep living and dying in the cycle of rebirth, it never ends.

Kazeshini, on the other hand, could care less about saving and protecting ‘innocents’, as his Master puts it. He’s there to reap lives, to cleave them apart, and even if the Hollow he slices through gets redeemed, who cares? It’s not his business what happens after they disperse into spirit particles. He lives for the moment, the thrill of cutting through flesh and feeling blood spray from his razor-sharp scythes.

Hisagi is a coward, unwilling to use his power to take control, to do something. Kazeshini blames this on the fact that he had that pansy-ass traitor, Tousen what’s-his-face, as his Captain. What kind of gutless fighter tries to teach non-violence and justice? There isn’t any justice, there’s power and that’s that! Now if Hisagi had gone into the Eleventh Division, he wouldn’t be having this problem.

Of course, considering that Hisagi was even sad when the traitor died and cried over his bulbous insect body is another reason Kazeshini can’t stand him! When someone stabs you in the back, you stab them back twice as hard and make sure it doesn’t happen again! You don’t wimp out and start acting like your heart’s broken! What a pussy!

Hisagi does not agree with Kazeshini. He does not enjoy violence. He is frightened of his zanpakutou.

Is it any wonder, then, that both of them are sick of dealing with each other?
And Kazeshini rants, and raves, and waits to be released. And Hisagi trembles, and prays, and tries not to use shikai, ever.

End Fic

Completed 3/4/10

I wrote this because I just watched the Bleach filler episode 260 and DAMN did Kazeshini get emasculated. It’s an overused plot device. Plus that baby is ugly beyond words.
